CVS

This is my local pharmacy and I hate to leave this review, but I have no clue why the staff here is so rude. Especially the pharmacy: there are always long lines, they don’t make any effort to protect your information when it’s your turn and they are always super rushed and make you feel like you are inconveniencing them. They once took weeks to fill something and never kept me updated, I had to keep calling or stopping by.
Same goes for the front cashier staff, I think I’ve only had one experience where they were nice to me. Look, I’m not asking for much but this locations staff does not jibe with the Tiburon «everyone is a neighbor, so say hi» philosophy. They are generally discourteous and ill-​mannered, that’s not normal in the service industry.
I just called to ask if my prescriptions were ready and instead of listening, he kept asking me to repeat myself. Had he listened when I provided the information that I SPELLED OUT, he’d have gotten it right the first time. Maybe they’re understaffed but kindness costs nothing and understaffing is not an issue customers control.
You can do better CVS, but right now, I’m underwhelmed.

Worst shopping experience in all of Tiburon.
First, the entrance to the store is filthy. It is covered with dirty black spots (gum?) and stains from the garbage can by the front door. Years of asking them to steam clean the front entrance have produced zero results.
Then there are the cashiers, several of whom dress, look and act like they were just released from mental homes. The lines are long and you have to ask them to call another cashier because they are just not paying attention.
The pharmacy staff vacillates between being fake, overly friendly and contemptuous. The one bright spot was the former manager Paul who was exceptionally decent and capable. The present pharmacist is arrogant and unhelpful.
The store often has a chemical smell.
I find its worth driving out to Safeway, which is a 2 out of 5 instead of a zero.

SUPER transphobic. I went in presenting as female (I’m a trans woman) and tried to buy alcohol but was denied BY THE MANAGER because I didn’t look enough like my ID… I was forced to take off my wig and offer to wash off my makeup… and then she hesitantly let me. She kept defending her original decision saying it was the law, but I pointed out that once I tool the wig off, she COULD tell it was me easily… so she just wasn’t even trying to read my facial features in the first place. Of the hundreds of times I’ve used my ID since coming out, this is the FIRST and only time this happened in the entire Bay Area… and the only other time was in a tiny restaurant in a super rural and transphobic part of North Carolina. The manager denied transphobia, but when I pointed out that this couldn’t happen to a cis person, she didn’t have a response. Particularly if your gender presentation doesn’t match your ID pic/​gender, stay the hell away from this place. I was astonished that as a 26 year old trans woman, I was literally forced to take off my wig and offer to take my makeup off to buy 4 mini wine bottles IN THE BAY AREA. And remember, this was the manager, so I wouldn’t expect any better. :-(

The store and the employees are fabulous. The pharmacy staff is usually good. Today I had the most horrific experience with Ann at the pharmacy. Her behavior was beyond rude and unhelpful. I would never come back if it was my neighborhood pharmacy.

Ugh… I hate leaving a negative review, but the pharmacy here is painful to use. First getting my niece’s antibiotic through them was going to take three days. That’s kinda something you need to start immediately in a 3yo, but the lady pharmacist couldn’t care less, complained endlessly, and wanted the child to wait, or for the doctor to order a different one. She wanted to dictate what medicine was given to a child with sensitivities and extreme allergies! I think the person with her medical file and medical degree should make the choices. Such as it is, my sister was done, but I returned for more punishment. That’s when I came today to pick up a prescription that was transferred two days ago. It, naturally, was missing and the staff said she couldn’t do anything about it that I had to wait on the pharmacist to return. That’s right; this CVS pharmacy had no pharmacist in the building on a Saturday afternoon. So, I had the original pharmacy call this CVS to transfer the prescription again… the staff said they could not take the message and the out of state pharmacist had to call back and wait for Pharmacist Sheree Reed, as well.
Oh and then the fun continues… as I finally get to check out with Reed, I ask if a discount card is applied, she repeats back over and over to me, «one is»…I explain that’s not the newest one could she try the card I handed to her. She refuses to touch it and finally says she can’t do it, explaining that I now have to wait for the assistant to get back… the girl I originally worked with. She was clearly angry. I said, «well don’t blame me!» with a smile and a laugh; a pathetic attempt to lighten the mood. She literally blew out and stomped off; never saying a word. Fun party fact: this is the same pharmacist that was so rude and mean to my sister about my niece’s antibiotic. Repeat offender. She’s fake nice and then explodes. Her name is: Sheree Reed.
Lord have mercy… try to get it done elsewhere, if you can. I have a headache just thinking about dealing with this team again.
So sad; other CVS stores have been so handy! :(
Total time: 54 mins for a simple pick up. 5 people in line. 2 people turned away (because pharmacist Reed couldn’t check them out either). 1 person on hold on the phone for over 20 mins and still on hold when I left.
Price at my hometown pharmacy: $ 6
Here: $ 26 and $ 19 with discount cards. Whatever, I’m just thrilled to leave this hot mess! The extra card did nothing; had Reed not been too lazy to learn how to simply check people out it would have saved me a half hour.

Love the pharmacists and assistants. Very professional and always happy to help in any way possible. My son has a chronic disease and I have to use the pharmacy often. But I am always met with kindness and fast service.

The customer service in this drug store is phenomenal. I brought my dog in earlier today and the assist. manager quickly commented on how cute my dog was. He quickly then mentioned that if I didn’t bring a leash they could sell me one. Very polite and creative! Made sure we were happy and taken care of and also extrememly caring for other customers and their requirements. Wow!

I actually enjoy visiting the pharmacy at the Tiburon CVS store. The staff has the best attitude and goes the extra mile for their customers. Shannon was delightful as was the rest of the department. I always seem to leave with a smile. Good work CVS!

The store itself seems to be fine… decent selection, friendly cashiers, and the manager, Tammy, could not be nicer !
The problem is with the pharmacy… Unprofessional service, WAY overpriced for insurance or cash pay RXs !!! 0 for 2 on having my drugs ready in a timely manner. My RXs just got transferred to Safeway… and I will not be filling any new RXs at this CVS unless there is a dire emergency !

went to our local CVS the day before Easter — guess what? the store was not able to process any credit cards or debit cards — WHAT? and only after we loaded about $ 80 on to the checkout and tried repeatedly to use our cards where we told «Oh, our systems are down — only cash! Horribly managed store — STAY AWAY

Extremely rude African American employee with tons of attitude that is unnecessary and completely out of place. I have no issues with the store or other employees. This one in particular, shocked beyond words. I think people like her should not work in places where polite and pleasant interaction is required. Advice for the employee: Go visit the CVS in Sausalito. There is an African American lady twice your age you could get some serious life lessons from. She’s amazing. Hope you feel better soon.

This rating does NOT apply to all CVS pharmacies as I’ve had good experiences at many others.
I’m giving this particular CVS 2 stars in hopes that it makes the cutting board and other people get to read it. It gets the first star ONLY because their phone system actually works. The second one is because if i only give it one, Unilocal will probably discard my review.
I called to see if they had a medication in stock, which every other CVS I have called was out of for the next 3 days. A woman answered the phone, with an impatient tone of voice and asked me what i needed. I responded with what it was, to which she said «I can’t give you that information over the phone». I told her every other CVS I talked to today had no problem giving me that information. She then said, «have you come here before? Are you myyyyy patient?» I told her I hadn’t been to that particular CVS, but that I had been a CVS customer for many years. She said «that isn’t my problem. You’re not myyyyy patient» Really??? No I’m not your patient, and last i checked you’re not a doctor to have «patients».
I hope whoever this gentle lady is, has to have major surgery, runs out of a crucial medication and can’t find it after calling over 40 pharmacies herself. I hope that she is in excruciating pain, to the point she can’t get out of bed, and extremely sick because of it. And after that happens I hope someone is kind enough to her to give her information over the phone, so that she can get a medication she desperately needs. Maybe then, she will have a little more compassion for people other than her own self. Empathy, and all around niceness seems to be a rare commodity in the medical field, and especially pharmacists and their technicians. I have NEVER had anyone be so rude to me over the phone.

The tiburon cvs is a great place to go, it is fully stocked with everything you need and convinenlty located in central tiburon.

It’s nice, it’s new, but the people who work here are… a little off and not very helpful. «One hour photo» only works if they initiate it when you order, which… apparently they don’t. Weird experience. Rude treatment.

I have been a resident of Tiburon for 7 years and was so happy when CVS opened up in our small, wonderful, sleepy, typically customer friendly village. I have until today made a point to support it. Over the past couple of years my experiences at CVS have been mediocre but today took the cake!
Tonight I was at the pharmacy, after they shorted my prescription order, and very nicely explained what happened asked for a refund for pre-​surgery prescription antibiotics Tiburon CVS left out of my order. They had charged both my insurance company and me. I had to re– fill the script for antibiotics again at another CVS store while recovering away from home. Since it was also a CVS I had proof (actually they had it in their records too) due to the mishap. I explained my situation many times and they would not listen, acted disinterested, and resistant to help me, made me sit and wait for 30 minutes, treated me as an inconvenience, took care of 6 other customers that entered the store after me and were generally rude with no desire to please me and solve my issue, nor did they say they were sorry and never apologized. The Manager and Pharmacist were both on duty and both had very low or no customer service skills. Their behavior was poor including throwing refund at me, throwing my ID at me, throwing a pen at me, it was unbelievable and never an apology. I am 62 years old and busy executive and do not remember the last time a customer service experience was that mean spirited and disappointing. I have run a good size customer service driven company with over 1000 employees for over 35 years and very experienced in proper business acumen and customer service.
CVS management if you read this review please note you have a big problem in the pharmacy at that store. I will never go back and it is less than two blocks from my home. Very sad! No stars here as staff has a lot to learn about professionalism and customer service.

Fantastic addition to Tiburon. Great prices, selection and people.

I was really impressed by this cvs compared to the one near home. The one near us always has these incredibly long long lines and you have to wait for about five minutes to get to the cashier. At this Cvs, when there were 3 people in line, the cashier called for another cashier to help out.
The layout of this cvs was great too. It was also very clean and they had cool stuff.
My cahsier was really friendly and nice.

I started going here on occasion when I’m in town, and I’ve never had any issues since they opened a few months ago. The pharmacist was friendly and helpful. Drive thru is a convenient addition.

Just opened. A major convenience! Yea!!! Well stocked with pharmacy and sundry items plus food and drink. Bright and clean looking. Prices seem relatively reasonable. Very happy to have this in town. Great alternative to the louzy market that we have now. Only disappointment was a girl pharmicast who wasn’t very nice. (we walked by the pharmacy, quickly checking out the store. .. and my sweet friend, Kate, just said hi to the girl — only to be polite in passing. Pharmacy girl snapped, «can’t help you now, am with another customer.») Needless to say, they won’t be getting our Rx account. But bottom line — a great addition to town. Only wish the Red Sign was larger; difficult to find the store sometimes! (an inside joke)
