Baerly Big Child Care

This place is really close by and once my son turned 2 ½ I really wanted to try it out to see how well it accommodated our family. The lady who welcomed us was also the manager. I wish I could remember her name but she’s always there. She’s great. My son was really upset when I first left and she comforted him very well. When I went to pick him up he was so happy he didn’t want to leave. The other kids there were so nice and even though they were older I could tell they enjoyed him being there and made him feel welcome! His diaper was also clean so I knew she was on top of things. He will definitely be going more when I need him to!

We have been taking our almost 3 year old son to Baerly Big once or twice a week since June. The owner, Sheila is wonderful! Our son is shy and was not happy about me leaving him, but Miss Sheila made him feel welcome and helped him adapt. Now he loves to be dropped off there! She lets the kids play and have fun while at the same time enforcing rules and good manners. I would highly recommend Baerly Big!

We just moved here from Illinois a coupla months ago and discovered Baerly Big right away. We have a 3.5 and 5 year old and while checking out the place for the first time, the girls literally did not want to leave after being there for less than 5 minutes. It’s got all the goodies to keep a child of almost any age entertained (not just electronically or thru sensory overload like the place across the street (not to knock the «Purple Place» — we’ve been known to visit)).
Additionally, Sheila has just the right amount of firmness in the way she handles the kids… there are rules, and the kids are expected to follow them. I feel good about leaving them there, knowing that a form of structure close to mine is being adhered to — does that make sense or sound all militaristic? I don’t mean the latter, just that they don’t let them run wild and even if they’re there for an hour, I know they are being respectful:).

My wife and I have been bringing our son here for almost 2 years now. He has autism and is 5 years old. The owner (Shelia) has shown such interest in him and his progress every time we bring him in.
I think it is the perfect place to bring your child while you have to work or maybe even go on a date. Every employee there is attentive to ALL the children there and none of the children’s needs go unattended. They have snack time, they even serve lunch or dinner depending on what time your child is there.
Our son loves going there and will sometimes even ask us to go see Shelia. This is a great place to bring your kid whether they have special needs or not. All are welcome!
