Maybe the bread loaves are great, but go somewhere else for coffee and sandwiches. They completely forgot my sandwich, which I would totally understand if they were busy but we were the only people there??? An employee came over to check on me and made my sandwich when she realized I didn’t get mine(she wasn’t even the one who took my order.) So, shout-out to you, cute employee with the short, curly brown hair! The rest of the staff(especially who I assume was the supervisor) seemed really tense. The food is expensive. My sandwich was meh. The mochas just kinda taste like milk.

So, here we are again 9 months after my last review for an update. This place just continues to go downhill and it seems the owner could really care less. Inconsistency is the word that should be placed in front of this business’ name. They continue to have a hard time making a sandwich from the paper they take the order from. Not sure why that’s so hard? Went today for a sandwich and left with a completely different order. Figured I really didn’t need to check before I left the place because the owner was there and things should be running fine. Had to drive back and get it corrected. I complained about that and that and the sandwich sizes have gotten 25% smaller over the last 6 months to the owner. She had no explanation why the sandwiches were smaller only to agree they were. And then passed the buck to her«new» employees as to why the sandwich was made wrong. That’s her excuse for the last 9 months. That tells you she has a very high turn over, wonder why? At some point, you have to wonder about her choice in employees or how she trains them because it’s always the same problem, inconsistency. For the price, the trouble to check your order before leaving, the subpar customer service, you get a better sandwich at Subway across the parking lot and that’s saying alot! Or better yet, Pot Belly’s. It’s a bit of drive, but much better than this place for the money and the hassle. If you do eat here and take it to go, CHECKYOURORDERBEFORELEAVING!

Very disappointed in the bread selection I also found the customer service to be subpar. I have a groupon for this place, but will let the deal expire then go in and use the purchase value to buy what I want instead of their rules.

Yummy breads. Marionberry swirl bread delish. I had a turkey curry salad sandwich with raisins that could only have been better if it would have had chopped pecans too. The Italian grinder pleased the skipper also. They give you samples of their goodies

Yummy sandwiches! Love the chocolate zucchini bread. For the price, I think they should include chips and a drink though.

I gave 1 star only because taking stars away is not an option. My first visit and second visit I was pleased with the service and the quality of the food I purchased. My last 2 visits will truly be my last. The second to last visit the soup I ordered was barely luke warm and the sandwich bread was very dry, I thought just an off day. I went back a couple days ago for lunch and if I was a health inspector they would have failed inspection. First, the employees were busy complaining about coworkers to notice they had a customer at the counter. Once we were able to place our order, 2 cups of chowder and a split sandwich we sat down at the only semiclean table and had to ask for a wash cloth to wash the table. They delivered our almost warm soup in cracked and chipped bowls. I was so disgusted we left without eating our $ 20 lunch.

I have eaten here a few times, and overall, it’s a solid sandwich place. I really like the California Fusion Panini — I haven’t had artichokes on a sandwich before and I am now hooked! The cinnamon roll is one of the best I have ever had, but I haven’t seen them around lately because a lot of stuff is sold out by the time I get over to order, so I can’t say I have had an opportunity to try much else from this place. I really like the service of this place. The last time I went to order for pick up, the gentleman working at the store that day mentioned that they were out of chicken and could not make our sandwiches and asked if we wanted to order something else(I went with the fusion again, haha). It was late on a Sunday near close, so yeah, I get it, but he made up for it by offering a discount on our new sandwiches. I was really impressed by that, so thank you! I think it’s a nice place with great quality ingredients, I just feel like you need to go earlier in the day, not so close to closing, if you want a larger selection.

I love this place. The breakfast croissants are awesome! And lunch is normally very good, but today was not so good. There was one young kid back there putting all sandwiches together and one gal at the counter. It was super busy! Right at noon, and these kids were there all alone. He really tried but my sandwich wasn’t that good. I threw it away:(Anyway, I’ll be back again but if it looks busy, I’ll probably go somewhere else.

Good sandwiches and pastries, but expensive, inconsistent, and skeptical customer service. Ordered the exact same sandwich a week apart and was charged two different prices(not that big of a deal since it was a $ 3.50 difference, but it’s noticeable). The person that took my order also acted like it was a complete inconvenience, even though they have the«make your own sandwich» option. With each item I requested, she acted like it was a burden. In fact, when another customer walked in and ordered a bagel with butter when I was waiting for my sandwich, she handed the customer the bagel and said she can butter it herself.

Went in to get a sandwich and soup. It was so Un organized, from the get go. I ordered my sandwich and soup and soda. There were 2 employees obviously 1 of them in training. 5 more customers came in while I was waiting for my sandwich to be made. The mgr came out front helped 1 person and returned to the back of store. I waited 20 min and finally got my sandwich. I finally get my to go bag and I leave. I get half way home and my soup wasn’t in bag. I drove back to restaurant to get my soup in rush hour traffic. I walked into restraint and the employee looked at me and said, did I forget something. I said yes you did my soup. I will never go to this dysfunctional place again.

I was disappointed with House of Bread. I love a good sandwich and House of Bread looked like it offered something comparable to the Turkey Chutney sandwich from Grand Central Bakery. I gave it a try and asked the person making the sandwich to hold the red onion. This location isn’t close to home so it’s a good thing that I opened the sandwich to take a bite and to my puzzlement they didn’t put turkey in the turkey sandwich. Took it back and they promptly fixed their error but with the lack of attentive service, the expensive prices, the unwelcomed feel and the overall taste of the sandwich I do not plan to go back. I will say that if you are looking for baked goods, breads, cinnamon rolls and such it’s a nice place to stop by and pick up some goodies before heading home.

Haven’t been here in awhile and I wasn’t pleased with my recent experience. When I came in and asked whether the soup had any dairy, the cashier just looked blankly at me and said, I don’t know, probably. When I asked if he could check I was met with another blank stare. Come on dude, is it really that hard to walk over and look at an ingredient list? I was also met with a blank look when I ordered a coffee drink because apparently he doesn’t know how to make them. Why is this person the one at the register, who talks to everyone who walks in the door, when he clearly doesn’t know and doesn’t care what’s going on. My food was meh, although the bread was yummy, which is why I keep coming here on occasion. I used to wonder why it was always empty in here but maybe it’s because of the weird service experience.

We decided to stop in here during a visit to Tigard. The shop was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions. I really liked the variety of fresh breads that they had to offer. We bought a sourdough and an apple bread to take home and both were very yummy! Overall, a very good experience! I’m sure we’ll stop in here again the next time we’re going through town.

Great food except they were out of everything I ordered. The first time it was roast beef, then I specifically asked what else they were out of… nothing. I ordered my sandwich, paid and then they were out of salami. It was disappointing as they were out of a good portion of their deli meats. Tried to be friendly about it all but had I known all they had was turkey, I would have headed across the way to Subway.

Went back in this morning to use my remaining groupons and have to say I was pretty happy with the service. The customer service was good, there were lots of offers for samples, and they were happy to answer my questions. I’m glad I came back and I’ll definitely be back again.

I’ve only tried a couple of their breads and found them to be tasty. During my first visit to the store(a friend usually brought the bread for tasting) on a weekend, there wasn’t much choices left. I had also heard great things about their zucchini bread, but according to their menu, it’s no longer being offered. Their banana bread, which I’ve tried, is pretty tasty, super moist, and not too sweet. Prices are decent. Service was minimal during my visit. In fact, I found the two young employees(high school students?) working slowly and enjoying each other’s companies way more than attending to the customers; spent way too long here for a few loaves and a quick bread.

Jalapeño Cheddar bread! Need I say more? It is so yummy, a bit more expensive. Especially with how quickly it spoils, but hey its fresh bread. We stop by frequently. Once again Yum!

A little expensive for a sandwich and the service was a slower than expected, however the western a roast beef sandwich with horseradish and mayo was so good. The ingredients were quality and a healthy alternative to fast food. Beware my fiancé. Requested the gluten free bread it was great but the slices are super small. Definitely want to order a full sandwich if you request gluten free bread that’s only fresh on Sunday. The free snicker doodle was a nice touch. I should also add that we jokingly call this place the millionaire house of bread as everything is over priced. If they could lower the prices this place would be amazing! $ 15 for a sandwich and a half is a bit much. The food is great but overpriced.

I went down this past Saturday, when House of Bread Tigard celebrated its 1-year anniversary. After heating, their cinnamon roll with walnuts and raisins($ 3) was delicious, maintaining moisture through each layer. The roll itself was soft and chewy, no hard/crusty or dry areas to be found. I like the chopped walnuts and raisins just for those texture contrasts and additional flavors. Three bucks might be pushing it for the size, though. Other favorites in the display case include cinnamon rolls without the nuts and raisins($ 2.75), caramel nut rolls($ 3), and raspberry pinwheels($ 3) The early fall months bring Pumpkin Spice Lattes. A great latte here, even if I just opted for the free sample. Of course, all the breads are baked in-house, with the swirl breads being among the more popular items. There are also energy bars, large cookies, and brownies available. The savory side features a menu board of sandwiches. An OK first experience overall.

This place is so new I had to add it to Unilocal myself. It’s a new sandwich shop that opened up in Tigard next to the Albertson’s and Subway. If you’re in the mood for a good deli sandwich or soup, check this place out. A typical lunch here is about $ 10 for the combo. The sandwiches are fresh, made to order, and the bread is quite tasty and fluffy. The free bread samples help you pick out which one you want. I also had some great chili the first time I was here. I was disappointed on my second visit that the chili wasn’t available as it’s rotated out with the soups of the day. I hope they add a soup schedule to the website so I know when it’s back. The site already has a bread schedule so you can see when your favorite kind will be available. The only really negative thing I found so far was the«fresh lemonade» as it tasted too watered down for a $ 2.50 cup. The people there are friendly enough, but a little disorganized. I wager that will fix itself as the place is still brand new. Food: 5 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 Value: 4 TL;DR: Great new neighborhood deli with fresh bread
