Motel 6

I love motel 6. The room was so nice and pet friendly. It was my first time in a motel 6 because my husband would always choose more pricey hotel. I have to say this hotel was better than any other. I felt at peace and could actually fall asleep. The location. Was quiet and I love how the rooms are furnished. Recommend it to people without pets. It’s the sweetest thing. Ever since I have spent over 10 nights at motel 6 ‘s in oregon and utah.

Average room, decent décor but you had to pay for WiFi, have to pay for fridge and microwave and no elevator. My disabled family member had to crawl up stairs. Also no weekly rates but it’s close to highway and a safe clean spot to sleep.

Very clean. Modern renovations, which add to the feeling of comfort. All very new and and sharp. However the walls are made of paper and the faux wood floors allow every step from the above floor to echo through the room below.
Almost a diamond in the rough, more like a glass bead in the rough, well cut and pretty but a glass bead none the less.

It’s very nice room and view but there was a big bug in the bathroom witch I didn’t think there would be bugs inside the motel

Paid just $ 65 for a huge King bed room. Very friendly staff.
Room was way nicer than I expected (due to the price), the desk layout is sweet.
Very clean.
EVERYTHING is around here. safeway is across the street along with a ton of places to eat. You can even walk 400ft (next door) to the #1 Unilocal place to eat in the area (Millers).
There is also a 24hr fitness across the street.
The ONLY thing I can knock it was that the Wi-​Fi wasn’t free.
You have 2 options, $ 2.99 PER 24hrs (speeds were .5 up and .5 down) or $ 4.99 PER 24hrs, i’m assuming speeds are ²⁄₂.
Still a 5 star.

The staff is very nice, I’ve had a great experience with the workers here. Unfortunately, the stay is awful. The AC does not work at all, the toilet leaks, the internet is unbearably slow (and sometimes not even working, it doesn’t help that there’s an additional charge per day for wifi either), and there is no fridge in the room. If you are looking for a place to spend the night and intend on leaving the next morning, this place is great for a quick one night stop. But if you’re staying in the area for several nights, it wouldn’t hurt to shop around.

We stayed here over the weekend and I was very surprised with how clean it was. Our room was very modern and clean ! It had hardwood flooring in it and the bedding was clean. The hallways had clean new carpet. Pool was nice a clean also. The front desk staff was very nice as well. They called and checked in on us. For the price of the hotel it is great.

I’m very impressed with this location! I’ve only ever stayed in one other Motel 6, that impressed me this much and that was in Sydney Nebraska. The room looks like one you would expect to pay over $ 150 a night. The room is spacious and the décor is minimal and pleasant. I love the wood floors.
The staff is incredibly friendly and quite informative about the surrounding area. Both clerks were very outgoing and glad to have a chat if they’re not busy helping other customers.
I’d recommend this particular Motel 6 to anyone who is the area. I’m right next to the freeway and I can’t hear the traffic noise. Definitely worthy of a five star rating.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for thanksgiving while visiting my family, don’t stay here, this is one of those cheap motels where the staff steals your stuff, we were missing my boyfriend’s three sweaters he took on the trip, I know they are just sweaters, but they were nice, and I work hard for my money and the things I spend it on. I called and spoke with the manager Christian, and he basically gave me the impression he has no control over his staff, I spoke to him twice, and after that he never got back to me. Very unprofessional. You should never steal other people’s belonging, no matter how cheap the motel.

A friend of mine is staying here, and it’s pretty nice for the price. She got a good deal for a weeks stay. I think it’s the cheapest place around.
The room is small, and there is no fridge, microwave, etc., but the place seems very well kept up. Service at the front counter was very helpful. Parking is convenient enough, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Save yourself the trouble. Don’t stay here.
We actually stayed here in between apartments last year and had a terrific experience. We probably stayed several months, and the staff was helpful, we were relatively undisturbed, the housekeepers did their jobs, the price was decent, what more could you ask for? Based on that stay, I would’ve given this hotel 4 stars.
However, we just got done staying there between apartments again, and this short two week stay was a nightmare. There are two types of customers that stay at this motel, those who stay one to a couple of nights, and there are the «long termers», people who stay a month or more. When you stay only one or two nights, all probably seems well. It may seem that housekeeping is doing their job and the four eyed ginger that calls himself «management» probably seems like a nice guy. But stay a little longer, don’t let the façade fool you.
If you stay longer than a night, say a week or more, they will only clean your room on Tuesdays and Fridays, even though people who stay a night get daily cleaning, and you are paying the same rate. Well, the problem is that when you have four people staying in a hotel room, the garbage piles up fast, especially since they only give you two tiny trash cans. So, if you stay longer than a night or two, what happened on our original stay is that you would put the trash can outside the door, and housekeeping would empty it. We did this, and a rude Mexican housekeeper came to the door and told it was against «regulations» for you to do this now, in other words, they were too lazy too do it so take out your own trash! And you thought you were paying for housekeeping, lol. So don’t expect what you pay for when it comes to housekeeping, they just pocket the money and don’t provide.
After a week and a half on this recent stay, we were told we’d have to switch rooms because there weren’t many rooms with a fridge in them and they rented out our room to some other less financially important short termer. We’d actually done a fair amount of shopping since we’d been in that hotel room, so it was quite a chore, but we switched rooms. After two more nights, we were told we’d have to move again, because they were «renovating» our room, this time to the third floor. I told them it was our last night, we’d be out in the morning, but they made us move anyways. So we dragged all of our stuff from four people and our shopping up to the third floor, and since they are too cheap to pay for an elevator I was sweating balls. Neither time were we given the discount that we earned for our inconvenience.
When we got to the room, it was horrible. They told us it was a «new» renovated room, so we expected something nice. The walls were ugly orange, they had a yellow towel holder that looked like it belonged in toddlers bathroom, and the room smelled badly of fumes. It was freshly painted. I could barely breathe. I opened a window, which had no screen, and I watched flies enter the room.
I left, after the bad experience, to go pick up my family. As we entered the building, I was stopped by the four eyed ginger, the manager, who didn’t have a good reputation with the long termers anyways. I would tell you more about that, but this is long enough as it is. His poor reputation is earned, trust me on that.
So we walk in, and the four eyed ginger manager guy says that we left our last hotel room a mess, and that was unacceptable. There were candy wrappers on the floor and he found a dirty towel. Forget about the logical conclusion that they should be able to clean that up given that we got practically ZERO housekeeping services in two and a half weeks, and they probably should’ve have been able to get a housekeeper to do it, since that is what you normally pay for.
Well, it was just after Halloween. I have two kids who scored a lot of candy trick or treating and they had a little fun. I didn’t pick it up because they gave me about a twenty minute notice that I HAD TO move to another room so they could renovate, and I just didn’t have time to clean it up. This manager is one of those people who has a way of saying nice things in a completely rude way, and I wish I could capture that in my post, but I can’t. When I pointed this out to him, rude as usual, and cocky over his crappy I couldn’t do better job, he basically said that my kids shouldn’t be living in that mess! Wow. Of course, if he were so concerned, he wouldn’t have put my kids in a room full of fumes.
I told him we wanted to leave. He said he would give us half off because even though we hadn’t made a mess, housekeeping would have to clean the room. That seems fair. They keep $ 26 dollars so they can pay a Mexican housekeeper minimum wage for twenty minutes work… isn’t that about $ 4? I went to collect my refund, he lied and only gave me twenty bucks back.
I won’t be returning. I suggest that you save yourself the trouble and that you don’t come here either.

This place was pretty damn shoddy. We stayed here as a last resort, and I kind of would have preferred sleeping in my car.
Everything felt relatively dirty, the bathroom was TINY. Seriously tiny. I was afraid to lay my towels anywhere, or my clothes anywhere, it all seemed that filthy.
There were stains on the carpet, the bedding felt like it had layers of grime caked on. The tv was an old, big-​backed thing from the 80’s, apart from it being practically unwatchable from how deteriorated the cable quality was, nothing but static.
No elevator, so we had to climb three flights of stairs.
The wifi wasn’t free, and if you wanted «faster» wifi, you had to pay even more.
When we pulled up there was a big group of people hanging out in their pj’s, smoking and drinking by the back door, was a little intimidating. Didn’t feel like a good part of town, or a good place in general.
Would never stay here again. Dirty, unsafe, old. At least I didn’t see any bugs — given enough time I’m sure I would.

Staff is less than helpful… front desk clerk lacks basic English skills which leads to several miscommunications at check-​in. Manager is less than helpful and downright hostile when confronted with issues. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY charge ridiculous prices for «high» speed internet that is slow. For the price, this place lacks amenities. NO ELEVATOR to the top floors? Well, then, you are a 39.99 a night motel. Overall the room I had was old, carpet from the 1970s and it smelled like mildew. The TVs are old-​fashioned big box and small screens. 8 channels. NOT a pleasant experience for the price. They are totally ghetto and just trying to pretend to be more. Value is about $ 39.99 a night. So… totally over-​priced and NOT WORTH IT.

I stayed two separate nights since this place, WEST Motel 6, did the trick. It was $ 54.99/night in June 2013. I did not use the Wifi at a $ 2.99 charge since I pay for Internet on my iPad. I had full «bars» on my devices since it is right off the I-​5 interstate.
Motel 6 is pet friendly with NO fees for a dog, no questions about a dog. The West Motel 6 is in a safe part of town, easy access to freeway, right next to Burger King and ½ block from other food and gas businesses. The Bridgeport Mall is on the other side of the freeway, if memory serves, and Fred Meyer (like a Super Target) is one exit down towards Salem. New to town? Make Fred Meyer your friend! They sell food, sunglasses, clothes, whatever you forgot or need.
There are two separate Motel 6 businesses across the street from one another. One says WEST (this one), and one says EAST (the other). WEST is a hotel style with three floors, EAST is a motel style where you can drive your car right up to the door of an assigned room. West is on the freeway side (noise was minimal, but I do have a sound machine) in between a newly (?) remodeled Burger King and «Stars». East has a laundromat on site with access with a «key» (room key). West does NOT have guest laundry on site… but the next exit down (#289?) the freeway towards Salem (away from Portland) has a good laundromat with everything you would ever need including a pin ball machine, TV, recycling bins, bathroom — and a Fred Meyer across the street! East seems to be where truckers go because the parking lot has room for their rigs. West seems to be more for regular people with cars.
I was quite happy here. The staff were good at helping me, they have ice machines and vending machines, windows were open regularly I assume to air the place out since it is a very wet region. They were carpet cleaning when I left one day and keep the place very clean.
I would definitely stay again!

I’ve stayed at many a hotel and motel. This one was mediocre at best. It’s pet friend’ll which is nice. The people at the desk were decent. Oh and the bass from the Stars strip club next door can lull you sleep in the wee hours of the morning.
Overall not bad. We stayed in the business room so we had a fridge, microwave, and a king bed. The bathroom was tiny and the water pressure sucked. Personally I’d spend the few extra bucks and go somewhere else.

So I am staying here for work… for the most part it’s OK but I do have to say that their «High Speed» Internet that costs $ 2.99 a day has something to be desired. It reminds me of AOL Dial-​up circa 1996. If you need the internet for work like I did skip this place and find somewhere more business friendly

Two words– bed bugs :(

We looked for this place based on the previous review. We made the mistake of checking in to the Motel 6 across the street. Big mistake! We promptly checked out and came here. It is hands down, the nicest Motel 6 we’ve ever stayed in! Next time we travel up the 5, we are staying here again!

I am not one to normally review Motel 6 and the other assorted motel/​hotels across America, but I had to here because this is a «special» Motel 6.
We have all been in college/​poor/​young once and wanted to stay in cheap-​o motels — I still do – no shame there. With Motel 6 you know what you are getting (generally), a comforter with cigarette burns, a carpet you dont want to walk barefoot on, and little hotel soaps that dry out your skin. I am wholly okay with this set up.
But now im spoiled. We found THE Motel 6. It had to be an old Holiday Inn or something because this is like no other Motel 6 I have ever seen. it is nice, like classy-​ish nice. Not a garish colored comforter in sight. While apartment shopping me and the girl spent two weeks here and were super impressed.
A few things of note. The front staff might be mental, which is ok, but they wanted to charge us a higher rate then online would (after constantly assuring us «in-​person» was cheaper to book). The solution is to book online and dont deal with them for booking.
Also there is another Motel 6 right across the street (the East location). This is a tacky old Motel 6, looks like all the others. Stay at the West one instead (this one).
