Roof Life of Oregon

Called to setup and appointment… they were to call to set an appointment… instead, the inspector called to cancel the appointment because he was running behind. Lol! I never had an appointment… he wanted to reschedule… he was not willing to work around my busy schedule. He finally said… I think it would be better if you found another company to do your roof. Wow! After reading the other reviews… that I had not read before… I now think I was the lucky one to have not had them come to my house! I will never refer them or hire them to do a roof.

A chance encounter with their employees said a lot about their respect for other people.
If you’ve been in Clackamas recently you know how crazy the line for the new Chik-​Fil-​A is. It’s not uncommon to wait upwards of an hour in the drive thru line for your chicken at peak times, which is exactly where my family and I found ourselves today where the line of cars had spilled out onto the street. We had waited some time and finally made it a little ways into the parking lot when a white van with «Roof Life of Oregon» plastered all over the side went against traffic to approach the line, seeming to want to find a spot in the parking lot. When the line started to move and the nice Kia in front of me paused to let the van through to the lot, this dishonest roofer decided it was the perfect opportunity to cut ahead of dozens of hungry patrons and take his spot in the middle of the line instead.
You’ve probably been in this sort of situation before and I know it has upset you. However usually the offending party is not plastered with such identifiable marks! While this may seem odd and anecdotal, I do think it says a lot about the sort of people Roof Life employs. If this is an example of the respect they have for other people’s time, I’m certainly not going to let them ladder up to the tippy top of my roof for my routine roof maintenance.

Horrible horrible!!! Roof life of oregon said they would inspect and give an estimate — Jerry Becker turns up late and then sits in his car and leaves in 5 mts… and i am waiting inside the house to hear what is going on.
I mail him and call him and he says
«Hello, I was able to do your inspection. I was there for about 25 min and got all the info I needed. You will be seeing a quote here in just a bit.» — this was 3 days after the presumed inspection
and no report yet!!! so i write to him and he says
«Hmm, let me resend it here in a bit» and its not here yet
and we are looking at 5000sqft of roof. If the beginning of the job starts out like this i wonder what happens if someone hires them…

I just called to make an appointment for a roof treatment due to Moss build up. The receptionist said we don’t do treatment in your area, only roof replacement. No other explanation provided. No other recommendations provided. How does a company operate like this? They do a lot of advertising for roof treatments. But yet, will only provide the service in certain areas. Won’t be looking to have them provide any service at this point.

Do NOT hire them to fix your roof. They might be ok with removing moss, but please trust me when I tell you that they do not know how to fix leaking roofs. I had them out several times and they were never able to fix it, eventually telling me I had to get a masonry company because the chimney brick was fractured. It wasn’t. I had to hire a different company who fixed it right the first time.

We recently had our house on the market. The inspector for the prospective buyers said there were «issues» with our roof. They had Roof Life of Oregon come out to look it over and, of course, they said we needed a new roof to the tune of $ 17,000. Oddly enough, we had some minor repairs done over the summer by another roofer who still maintains… that no new roof is needed. We would not have these people roof our bird house.

We asked for a full evaluation of the roof condition and lifespan after our inspector found some issues and concerns. Our inspection report included details and photos. The roof life inspection was written like a post it note just saying roof needed to be replaced, no details, no reasons why except it’s age (which we knew already from the sellers). The receipt given was also just a sideways photocopy. Not professional, not helpful, definitely not at all worth $ 300!

Got our roof cleaned a year ago including a valley clean up which was really expensive. They charged us over $ 1000 for couple guys to come out and blow some dust off the valley that literally took about 30 minutes. Our roof had a leak recently and we called them to come and inspect it. Couple guys came out to look at it and left without any words. Then we got a call again to come and look at the problem couple weeks later. Two other guys come out to look at it again and next thing I know, they tell me what the problem was and it was fixed so I assumed it was covered under warranty. Then we got billed for $ 630 for the repair. It took them less than an hour and didn’t even ask me if they can do the repair. We are told it was an unrelated problem. Never again!!!

I have been hearing their commercials on the radio for years so I decided to call to get my roof inspected and serviced. After several non-​returned calls, I finally got ahold of someone on the phone. They were pretty rude and said they don’t service any areas within the city limits of Portland. Really?!?
Ridiculous time waster.

I cannot recommend Roof Life of Oregon.
I did a lot of research on roof moss removal and control, I felt that this team had the best strategy. I did due diligence and read many reviews as well as called the so called references that the provided. The reviews were very mixed, indeed the Angie’s List grade was ‘B’. Many of the ‘references’ that they provided in my area did not return my call, others had mixed feedback. Regardless, I took a risk. I found that they provided good service, and the moss treatment worked reasonably well. However, when it came time to honor the warranty for no re-​growth in 3 years, they declined, saying they no longer provide service in my area. Some time later, when it was time to retreat, I asked again, same response. At the time of the initial service, they told me that the first cleaning & treatment would be expensive, but subsequent re-​treatments would be much cheaper as the would need less work. Well, that hasn’t happened, they seem to be a ‘one-​and-​done’ outfit. No Customer loyalty. Give them a pass and find someone else to do your work.

Careful! If you have Roof Life of Oregon come out and provide an estimate for your roof, and if you decide NOT TO HIRE them, they might come back to your home a few months later and video your home without permission, and then use it as an example on social media. They were asked to remove the video and refused.

I recently came across an «educational» video that Roof Life of Oregon posted about what a roof that needs replacement should look like. Unfortunately, they should have double checked their information because it’s not accurate and I’m pretty sure the homeowner did not give them permission to video tape their house either. I wouldn’t choose a company that provides false information and lacks common courtesy to a homeowner. This company would not get my business.

I own a townhouse and asked them to come out and give me an estimate to get my roof cleaned and treated and the gutters cleaned. I received an e-​mail response stating he didn’t bother to look at it because it was a townhouse and he would need all of the owners to agree to have the entire thing done. He also said to call with any questions. I wasn’t sure why we would all need to do it as the 3 roofs are very distinct and we each actually own our portion of the structure. Anyway, my calls went un-​returned. So as far as their work, I don’t have a clue. As far as customer service, I would say below piss-​poor.

They responded to my emails quickly, but don’t service my address in inner NE Portland or my rental property’s address in SE Portland. They really should be called Roof Life of «Suburban Portland.» Seriously, how hard is it to drive 15 miles.

When I bough my house our insurance agent told us that the roof would have to be replaced in about two years. Two years went by, and even though I am by no means a roof specialist, I could not see anything substantially wrong with it. So I called Roof Life of Oregon, who offer a free roof inspection.
Two days later they Bryan showed up at my place, and he put together a very nice inspection report, fully explained and with very clear pictures. What was even more interesting, and allows me to give them a five star review, is that his recommendation was not to replace the roof right away, but to wait three more years. That was very honest of them, and I truly appreciate that.
So in short: free inspection, prompt and fast, with a very detailed report, and an honest recommendation. Oh, did I mention it was free?

Used car salesman approach to selling a roof. And if you are not coming across as «an easy sell» they get mad, reflect other customers experiences on you and lecture you in your house. Terrible customer service. The worst I have ever experienced. Luckily I have had other quotes from roofing companies that treat me and my house with respect. Everyone deserves that.

We did not hire Roof Life of Oregon nor would I recommend this business. However we were still subjected to their poor business practices. OUR NEIGHBOR hired them to clean their roof.
When I arrived home I found hoses hooked up to OUR HOUSE WATER Running across our driveway, through our flower beds. Our well pump and the purification system ran for HOURS They had even taken off the faucet cover for winterization so they could use our water and had the hose and faucet wrapped in duct tape
They had not received permission from us nor had they contacted our neighbor to ask us if it would be okay. They had left a card on the door which I called. I was extremely upset. Their response: they would pay for the water but it wasn’t a big deal and hey they do it all the time.
I did not hire this company. Nor did I give them permission to hook up hoses to our home and use our water. But most importantly is how they handled my phone call. I had a legitimate complaint that they trespassed on my property and they acted like it was no big deal. Very POOR business practices. I would not recommend them.

I had an estimate for moss treatment and control a little while back. The follow up phone call was totally unpleasant. I could let it slide that it took 7 days for them follow up after they suggested it would be 3 to 5. While I generally prefer not to be disturbed in the evening, they did offer to call back at some time after interrupting my family time by phoning me at 7:30pm.
Then it all went downhill… I was surprised when they could not itemize their estimate. How do you put it together if you cannot tell me what the different parts cost? Bryan was unprofessional, insulting and finished our conversation with threats after I had simply suggested I was going to get another opinion. While I generally find pushy sales people to be a bit annoying, Bryan went well beyond that.
Maybe you do in fact have a great Dennco moss treatment product but there is a lot more to being a good business. Telling me things that OSU refutes will just irk me, not convince me to give you my hard earned money. Not all consumers will take the time to investigate your statements but within a few minutes I can find the truth.
So I guess go ahead and put me on your «three strike list», I doubt I would ever use a company that would treat me with such little respect. And Bryan, if I have a change of heart I’ll still have that one strike left. I certainly do hope that Patrick Morin does not condone your attitude. Seeing that his company has been around for 29 years leads me to believe he does not.
May be we just have different attitudes but from my perspective, the one of a consumer, you should not have to insult the competition or call your potential clients foolish and cheap to get their business.

I really don’t know how this company gets any business. We had them out to clean our roof and they somehow unbolted our Satellite dish (with their hose???) so we didn’t have any TV for five days because my husband was out of town and it really takes 2 people when you’re trying to correctly position a dish. All we’ve gotten is «I’m sorry». No offer of monetary compensation on their bill of over $ 1000.
