We had our wedding reception at Parmesans this past weekend. We couldn’t be happier with how everything went; it was amazing! Michael and everyone really went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and just our style. In addition to standard wedding stuff, they accommodated our request to bring in a keg from our favorite craft brewery(Hailstorm – props), and to make a special cake for the groom’s grandparents who were celebrating a milestone anniversary. All our guests raved about how great everything was, especially the food. Being the bride, I was too busy to eat more than a couple bites… so I take their word for it!(Actually, we’ve gotten pizza from here many times, so I can say for sure the food is great, especially that pesto!!) The food was plentiful too. Those gourmet pizzas just kept coming. So great. And SO much better than that standard wedding chicken-beef-sausage sludge you get in banquet halls. Gross. Don’t do that. I will ardently recommend Parmesans to anyone for any kind of event ever. You might think it strange to have your wedding or whatever in a Metra station, but it’s a unique place and really quite great. Plus, ample parking!

This place is difficult to find — and when you call to find out where the heck it’s at — they say close to the library — makes no sense to me — why don’t they just say they are IN the Metra train station? I digress, they bake bread. The bread they bake is the BOMB! They put things into their bread. Try the stuffed cheesy bread with meatballs. OMG! Or with sausage. or veggies.. . who new? I took stuff to go(I’m handicapped and those stairs are one impossibiliity I don’t want to face OR deal with). When you dine in — they have pesto at the table with. .. homemade bread. This place is reasonable, has GREAT food and a very young staff who are willing to go the extra mile. I went on a Sunday — they were having a baby shower, it was not crowded, parking wa sa breeze, and the staff was ready, waiting, and able to help. This place is a wonder — enjoy the italian food, pizza is wonderful and the desserts are INCREDIBLE! Did not try the salads this trip — but — the muffelata had enough garlic to kill Dracula — my lips were burning — but only in a GOOD way. Warning — if you are NOT a garlic fan — tell them to make your muffalata without — they do pile it on otherwise.

I was there for an anniversary party over the weekend. As always the food was delicious, even a better bonus meatballs wrapped in cheese and dough. Please add those to the regular menu. The service was fabulous! Even for a family style event the food was hot and fresh! I can not wait to attend a paint night here! Food and painting… now that sounds like fun!

It’s a great atmosphere and the service is wonderful! The waitress checked on us, but also gave us plenty of time to socialize by not constantly being at the table. The complimentary rolls and pesto are DELICIOUS!!! I ordered a pepperoni calzone and ended up taking half of it home. The prices were definitely reasonable for the portion sizes. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it was a bit hard to find due to the lack of signage outside the station.

The service was excellent. Amanda was our server and she gave my two year old daughter a ball of pizza dough to platt with and she loved it. They gave the best rolls with pesto for the tables. The pizza was good and they were very accommodating when we had trouble with our gift card.

I’ve gone here for meals 3 times. I will review based on each experience. First time was very long ago, so I cannot recall every detail. I do remember that the gourmet magherita pizza we ordered was very good, perfectly shared by 2 people. Second time was with 3 other people. I ordered a cheese and spinach calzone that was spectacular. 2 other guests ordered the julienne chicken salad, and it was literally lettuce with grilled strips of chicken, in a bowl of oil. I’m not kidding. It looked like someone had dumped a perfect salad into a bowl of grease soup. Neither person could eat more than 4 bites. Sounds healthy on the menu, so it was very deceiving. Side note, across the room there was a huge party going on, complete with drunks yelling in microphones, and no less than 15 minutes of frequent applause and more drunken screaming. We couldn’t hear each other talk at our own table. I really think the owner should just close the restaurant to the public when a party is being held. So the experience was pretty disappointing. Third visit was the most recent time, I went with 3 other guests. We had a $ 40 groupon. We all decided to order the largest thin pizza to share. We asked the server if the gourmet magherita pizza could be made into their largest size, she said yes. Here comes the frustrating part, the pizza was $ 24.50 on the menu, but no specific pricing for margherita, and our server didn’t specify anything about that detail. Being that we had a $ 40 we had to order more to reach that price. So I ordered a beer, and a couple of apps were ordered.(Side note, the ranch does not taste homemade at all, none of us could eat it because of the generic, sugary, chemical taste.) We figured we’d definitely reached the $ 40 mark. Pizza was great, cheese was just salty enough, crust was just crispy enough, although I wouldn’t consider it a Chicago definition of ‘super thin’. Would’ve liked to have seen more basil, but still a very tasty pie. So we receive the bill. Pizza itself totaled over $ 39. We were NOT expecting an almost $ 16 up charge for getting it with 3 ingredients. We weren’t upset, just wanted to understand why we were charged so much. So I approached our server and asked about it, very nicely of course. We realized she did not make the price, so we wanted to make sure she knew we weren’t mad at her, just confused. She informed me that the base price was $ 24.50, but $ 2 extra for each ingredient. 2×3 is 6. That leaves about $ 10 to explain. She then got a menu, corrected herself and said that each ingredient was actually $ 3.75 for the size we ordered. She seemed agitated, so instead of attempting a math quiz, I just said ok and thanked her. We paid and tipped her well. She was great overall. We didn’t feel too welcome tho, when we got the stare down from the chef as we walked out, he was obviously very angry at us. He watched us(with a murderous look on his face) as we got up from our table and eyed us all during our entire walk out of the restaurant. It was actually very intimidating and slightly frightening. When we got home I couldn’t help but actually figure out the total. $ 24.50 base price. 3 ingredients at $ 3.75 each. So $ 11.25 plus $ 24.50 is $ 35.75. As I said, the total for the pizza on the bill was $ 39. An unexplained $ 4 charge is what we ended up with. I didn’t want to «bother“our server into getting into detail about it at the time, as she seemed a bit perturbed. This is very unfortunate, because I normally enjoy the food at Parmesans. Their complimentary bread and pesto is reason alone to dine here. I *would like to return, but now I’m afraid of the angry chef spitting on my $ 40 pizza.

Not a good experience. The whole place had an overpowering smell of bleach upon walking in. One other table was almost done; other than that we were the only ones there. Our party consisted of 3 adults and 4 children. Just highlighting the major disappoints: my entrée, came out before the 3 soup orders from our table. I ordered the Portobello Wellington, it arrived 10 minutes earlier than everyone else’s food. The pastry was underdone-the dough can by described as gooey, soup like and stringy. The waitress did not come back to check in with us until the rest of the food had come out from the kitchen window including everyone’s soups. The used plates from the dipping bread and oil had not been cleared, yet so we barely had enough room to contain the food. Never did the waitress refill nearly our nearly empty drinks. An adult in our party had to ask if his calzone would be coming out momentarily. The waitress went to check on it and came back stating it hadn’t yet gone into the oven. At that point, we requested to see the manager. The manager said that she would have the calzone cooked and sent home with us if we wanted, but she would not charge it and explained that the soup only comes out early if it is requested as an appetizer. The manager made sure the uneaten wellington was taken off and gave the children Push-Up ice cream and the adults chocolate mousse. There are many overlooked details that need great attention at Parmesan located at the station in Tinley Park.

I could literally live off this pizza. They have THEBEST white spinach pizza and raspberry crumb cake. They also deliver from the 80th ave. location which is super convenient and are always extremely polite at the both of their locations. The Frankfort location is super cute if you want a casual date night. I’m definitely a loyal customer!

Okay, listen. The food itself is five stars. Pesto? Amazing. Hot bread? Perfection. Hot chips? Fantastic. See what I’m talking about? Their food is not the problem. Service is pretty decent, although we’ve never been blown away. Necessary disclaimer: we’ve only rocked carry out & have never dined in, so take my service review with a grain of salt. But still… no complaints. Here’s my beef: the website/online ordering component. The menu is pretty detailed and you definitely want to check that out before attempting to order, especially because the online ordering component does not describe most of the food choices. It also doesn’t provide all the menu items for some reason. For instance, you can’t order hot chips from the«sides» page. Why is that? I don’t know. Lastly, when you enter the address needed for pick up you get directed to the location they deem closest to you. We’re in Oak Forest, & the TP spot is far closer than the Frankfort one, but they always have the Frankfort location listed as our pick up point. And here’s the thing about that: I’ve never found ANY way to change their suggested pick up point. What?! Suffice to say, we’ve always had to phone in our order which, while not a tremendous deal, is certainly a slight annoyance that keeps us ordering probably less than we ordinarily would.(PS — Even typing in the TP train station address… the unchangeable suggested pick up point is in Frankfort. Um… yeah.) Overall, Parmesan’s Station in TP is definitely worth a try if you haven’t already because you simply can’t go wrong with pesto & cheesy goodness, but steady yourself for the potential frustration of the online ordering experience if that’s your bag.

Attended NYE at Parmesans Station. Exceptional job by all the staff. The evening was well-planned and well-executed. The food was great. All of the servers, whether checking you in, guiding you to your table, checking your coat or serving your food, were upbeat and fun. Even while awaiting their stroke of midnight confetti duties, all were dancing and having fun. I had not been to Parmesans Station, before. It is now on our regular dining list.

Wow, what a spot. I had tried a slice of their pizza at the Tinley Park farmers market. I was excited to see they got the contract for the 80th Street train station, but it took a while for me to stop by. Nice wine list, great menu selection and the added bonus of trains going by. We had the homemade potato chips and a chicken parm pizza. Fantastic. We will be stopping by again!

I had my wedding reception at Parmesans Station this past Friday– September 262014. I cannot say enough how perfect Michael the owner and his very attentive staff made my reception! To start off, this is such a cute and unique place to have an event. I found out about it from a family friend who had been to a shower here and raved about the place. I’m so happy we went here! From the beginning, everyone was so friendly in helping answer any questions. Michael the owner is passionate about his restaurant and is committed to creating an event EXACTLY the way you envision it. His daughter Michelle is also a big part of the planning process and is so sweet. Sitting with them and planning out all of the details banished every last bit of the typical ‘wedding planning stress’ I had. One thing that is unsurpassable by any other reception venue at Parmesans Station is the wait staff and bartenders. They were so attentive-I felt like my groom and I were being treated like royalty! Anna took care of our head table and she was amazing. But the great service didn’t just end with us. I had many guests tell me the next day how they couldn’t believe how great the servers were. Never was anyone waiting for drinks or food. Never did the servers go far from the tables they were assigned to. These girls know what they are doing and work their butts off. The food is delicious. We had family style chicken parmesan, beef bordelaise, pasta primavera, and roasted red potatoes. Because of the ease and stress free start to our reception, I was able to completely relax and enjoy my meal. And don’t let ‘family style’ fool you to thinking it was a limited amount of food-they keep bringing out the plates til everyone is served and completely satisfied! We also had hor dourves during our cocktail hour that were out of this world. I would have liked to sit down and had a meal of them! These aren’t your dainty little appetizers either-generous portions of tasty bites were just what my guests needed while gearing up to party! ;) Bottom line is this place was perfect. It’s beautiful, unique, and I loved the sound of trains going by as we danced the night away! Thank you so much Michael, Michelle, and staff for making our wedding day perfect!

After having good luck at the café in the other train station, I decided to try out this place. I really can’t say anything good about my experience; the food is horrible and over priced, the coffee was disgusting and cold and the service was terrible. My suggestion is to avoid like the plague.

Went to lunch here with my mom on a Wednesday afternoon. It was very quiet and not much commuter traffic, it was about noon so it sounds about right. We sat in the back by the fireplace, which I LOVED, however the tables were very small, we had to push 2 tables together to make a nice sized table for all the food we ordered. The bread was AMAZING! We got an antipasti salad & eggplant parmesan, both were excellent! Our server was Lisa, she was GREAT! She was very attentive and a very sweet person, answered all of our questions, gave us recommendations and was very personable. I would go back, the only drawback is the table sizes and awkwardness of sitting with a group.

I originally discovered Parmesan’s from the Kankakee Farmer’s Market. They were there with all of their baked goods and pizza. We ended up buying a loaf of pesto stuffed bread($ 5.50) and dipping it into some green pepper stuffed soup I made. It was one of the best loaves of bread I’ve ever tried. The owners also told us about the Mother’s Day brunch and handed us a flyer. We asked my mom how she’d feel about going there and she loved the idea, so we made reservations. A few people mentioned it was hard to find, but it’s right inside the Tinley Park train station(follow the signs for Parmesans.) If you go on weekends, parking is free. Otherwise, you may have to pay $ 1.50. The place is gorgeous inside. It has all this really cool architecture and you get a really nice view of the train and all the people outside. The way they had it set up, it was a little bit of tight quarters, but luckily everyone there were friendly and there was no pushing or rioting going on. The price was $ 18.95 per person + drinks, which I thought was a really good deal. They offered breakfast, pasta, chicken, fresh fruit, prime rib, honey ham and an array of ridiculous desserts. I was impressed that almost everything was very hot – temperature wise. My favorites: fresh pineapple, sausage, breakfast potatoes, pastry wrapped meatballs, chicken parmesan, penne ala vodka and the cheese bread. They also put parmesan and their delicious pesto on the table. The not so much: prime rib(dry – need au jus) and one of the chicken dishes(no flavor.) The desserts were absolutely the best part and I’m almost embarrassed at how many I consumed: strawberry cheesecake, snickers cheesecake, and chocolate mousse. They also had chocolate covered strawberries but they ran out halfway through before I could try them. Our server was really nice and there was always someone walking around to clear off plates. Best of all, my mom thought it was the best meal of her life so Parmesans really delivered to making it a great Mother’s Day.

We bought the groupon for 2 gourmet pizzas. The first time we tried to make reservations they were sold out for the night. The 2nd time we tried, they had a catering party scheduled, but said they’d hold a table for us. There’s no signage on 80th avenue indicating that the restaurant is IN the train station and after wandering around looking for the Tinley Park location we finally relented and called. With the catering party going on we were relegated to tiny wall side booths and tables. The room lighting was super bright and not particularly great for a nice, casual date night dinner. This said, the garlic bread is AMAZING. We’re probably going to special order it for our holiday parties. Our server was ultra – attentive, helpful, and kind. We ordered the Cindy’s and Bruschetta gourmet pizzas and a couple of glasses of wine. The Cindy’s is FANTASTIC! The super crispy and light crust blended with the combination of Romano and Mozzarella cheese made for a party in my mouth. The Canollis and Teramisu we brought home for the next day were awesome as well. I recommend skipping the Bruschetta pizza. It not only looked bad, but it tasted worse. This is a perfect example of something that sounds like a good idea but falls way flat in reality. Way too much vinegar and not enough cheese. We will likely return on a night when the regular dining area is open to see if the ambiance is better, as well as sample their non-pizza menu.

We went in on Sunday for a lite lunch. The bread was amazing and for you garlic lovers out there the olive oil garlic spread is delicious. We had the garden salad, ceasar salad and the minnestrone soup. All were perfect, fresh good amount of add ons like tomotoes, croutons and carrots and dressed well. The server was very nice and helpful about our many questions about the space. Overall a unique place for lunch and I’m now wanting to go back to try the pizza. My only complaint are the bathrooms, they are cold and the hand dryer is pretty useless.
