Had a horrible experience. Waited 5 mins to even meet my waitress after sitting down, then was told about the whole«no drink menu thing» and that I had to stare at my phone to see the beers would’ve been nice to know upon seating, just saying. Then ordered the poutine, which turned out to be a bowl of gravy with a couple fries. Disappointment. Ordered the pig and goat beef burger medium, it came out medium well and dry as a bone. I took one bite and couldn’t even choke it down. When the waitress came I told her I tried really hard to like it but it was bad and she took it away with a smile. Then returned with my bill which to my dismay, I had still gotten charged with that crappy burger. All in all, crappy service and crappy food. Will never go again.

Love the beer selection, food is pretty good, every time I have been in the staff is decent but not overly friendly.

My Girlfriend and I had dinner at this establishment this evening. We arrived at 7:15 and were seated outside the server took 25 minutes to take our drink order. It began to rain so we asked to be moved after sampling a really average beer. We then received almost no service other then taking our food order which needed to be heated and our next beer needed to be chilled from start to finish it took from 7:15 — 9:30. Overall I am very dissatisfied with my experience here. We drove down the road to rock bottom where the beer is cold and the food is warm. I feel like Tribes has a lot of potential but really came up short tonight and was certainly not up to par for a $ 65 dollar check.

What’s with the smell??? Went today for lunch for the first time. Upon opening the door we were smacked in the face with an over whelming smell of chlorine. I figured they had just cleaned up some mess near the entry way or something and the smell would dissipate quickly and at the very least be much less obvious as we moved to our table. Unfortunately not. We couldn’t figure out where exactly the smell was coming from, it was like the while entire building had just major chemically cleaned or something. We got water to drink while checking out the menu and everyone at the table took a sip and said it felt like they were drinking pool water because of the strong smell over powering everything. I ordered a burger and it was well cooked. I asked for medium and actually got it just right!(That’s much rarer to find than you might think…) The buns on the burgers are pretty massive and dense, but the burger seemed pretty good. Again it’s hard to tell tho. It’s amazing how much we taste by smelling… all we could smell was that intense chlorine so the food wasn’t really that enjoyable. I wonder what the heck happened. Did city sanitation just come thru the night before and order some huge over haul? With there being so so many food joints in Tinley, I think I’ll pick a different one next time either way.

Tribes: I so wanted to love you! But the service fell too short for us. I’ve had friends telling me about Tribes for years. Literally, years! It’s quite the haul from us, so we’ve never had a situation arise where this would work out. Our group of six originally planned to go to Dave and Busters, but we were told the wait was about two hours — so we packed up and left for Tribes instead. Little did we know, we should have just stayed! We arrived at Tribes at approximately 6:10pm on a Saturday night. We were told there was an hour wait — and since that was better than two, we stuck with it. I’m always of the mindset, «Underpromise, Overdeliver.» and thus always hope that hosts/hostess’ will follow suit — if you think it’s going to be a 45 minute wait, tell me an hour. SO, after 70 minutes with not one word from the hostess to our group, we asked the status. Long story short — we were told it’d be «15 more minutes» for approximately 45 more minutes… and ended up waiting two full hours for our table. No free drink(in fact, not even a «can I get you a water?»), no offer of a free appetizer, no nothing — not even an apology. Look — I understand restaurants can get slammed. And I also completely understand that when patrons leave is NOT up to the host/hostess’ nor the servers. However, the job of the hostess is to provide accurate information and updates to the patrons. We had two pregnant women in our group, and by the time we sat, we didn’t even have the opportunity to enjoy the food. Unless I were to visit on a weeknight(which, due to the location I don’t see happening), I can’t see putting up with the wait again.

I love coming to Tribes. The food is always good and the beer is always cold. Angelique was amazing! She was friendly, fast and patiently met the needs of my VERY demanding family of 16 needy people. As someone who spent years in the bar and restaurant industry I think she did everything perfectly and gracefully. Tribes needs more servers like Angelique. Thank you for making my birthday lunch perfect!

RUDEMANAGEMENT !!! We came with a group of 9 tonight and there were many open tables. The hostess was unhelpful in trying to accommodate our party. We asked to put tables together and she said no because of a fire hazard which was fine. She also would not let us add a chair to a table in the bar. This was frustrating because there were groups of open tables next to each other. She pointed out a group in the center of the bar and said they had been there since five and were probably leaving soon. We again asked if we could out tables together in the restaurant portion which was more out of the way and she began to get annoyed and no longer was trying to help us. We asked to speak to the manager hoping he would be more accommodating and she rudely said he wouldn’t do anything different but fine, she would send him over. We were contemplating heading elsewhere to another restaurant but thought we would ask the group the hostess had pointed out if they were planning on sticking around or leaving as they were signing their checks anyway. I went over and said hello and politely asked if they were heading out and they said yes and we were more than welcome to their table. Kyle, the manager, finally came out and all but told us we were not welcome there and to not ask his guests if they were leaving because it would make them feel rushed. He lost the restaurant several hundred dollars in sales for the evening and offended regular customers in the process. I have never been treated so poorly and I think Kyle is likely in the wrong industry. There was nothing«hospitable» about his attitude and he managed his was to lower sales for the day. Well done, Kyle!!! You have lost previously loyal customers and given Tribes a bad reputation. We went to Rock Bottom and they were happy to accommodate us even though they were significantly busier and we had a wonderful dinner!

Always good beer and food here. After being here a few times, I am beginning to learn what to and what not to order. We had the scallops on monday. Excellent! We were here for the all the you can eat frog legs, but they sold out. My date had the lobsta roll. It was very good. She really loved the cider she got. I had the korean beef short rib tacos with tator tots. It was very good as well. The oxtail potatoe skins were so so. There was so much potential there, just poorly executed.

Original Galway Tribes still my favorite place ever. Sad it closed but happy when opened in Mokena and ecstatic when opened in my hometown Tinley Park. That said, I havent been there in over a year. Beer selection sucks, mostly IPA’s. Lots and lots of IPA’s. Shy on porters, stouts, etc. No paper beer menu’s a real pet peave. Food overpriced and have had a number of really bad service experiences. Outside in summer, however, is amazing. Solution. If you want good beer, Open Bottle, 350 Brewery, Hailstorm. Great beer w/very good food? Blarney Stone in Oak Forest.

A friend and I went to Tribes Alehouse Tinley Park for a couple beers. Upon getting our receipt I noticed they had charged us for 2 beers that we never ordered or received. When we brought it up to the waitress she said that it was entered into the computer so it had to be correct. She then explained that she was the sober one not me. I had three beers. The manager came over and explained if we don’t pay for it its theft. I told him to check the cameras and he said only the owner of tribes can look at the camera. When I asked the waitress what her name was she said«Don’t worry about it», smirked and walked away. The manager then informed me that I needed to leave the waitress alone because I was«harassing the poor girl». I paid for the beers I had and my friend paid for his along with the ones we didn’t have. I went back to meet with the general manager today and explained the situation. He wasn’t friendly at all but did refund us $ 8 of the $ 12 they charged us for. Overall it was a horrible experience and shows that Tribes cares more about money than their customers. Luckily there’s plenty of other excellent options in Tinley and Orland such as Square Celt Ale House & Grill Hailstorm Brewing Co. and The Open Bottle

Normally I would give wonderful reviews because I love this place, but I had terrible service on Thursday 1⁄21 that I think needs to be addressed. Kitty was our server. When our food arrived I noticed it was cold. 5 minutes later she came around to check on us(we also had 2 empty beers). I let her know my food was cold and asked if it was just sitting under heat lamps. She replied«I don’t know. I wasn’t back there.» Well, she wasn’t back there because she was busy chatting with the other servers and not checking on my food. So after her unprofessional answer I told her I wasn’t waiting for new food to be cooked because I had another engagement I had to get to and she said«OK» and walked away.(We still have empty beers at this point). So I eat my cold food and drink bottled water I had in my purse until she comes back finally and asks if we want another drink. When the bill comes she points out she took $ 3 off my cold tacos. THANKS A BUNCH, next time I just want food that comes at correct temperature. This is the second time we have had subpar service.

Possibly my favorite restaurant on the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Didn’t hurt that I also love trying new beer. Let’s see, I’ve had the Korean short rib tacos, all their burgers(beef, turkey, bison, elk) their tacos, steak and don’t forget the appetizers. Now their beer menu is always changing, which is great for me. I try new ones all the time. Order a flight

I’ll change my review to 4 stars if you stay open until the time you had posted on the door for the 2017 New Years. Until then thanks for having last call at 11 even though the sign on the doors said you would be open until 1 am New Year’s Eve. Could’ve stayed until 12 maybe, but who wants to celebrate the new year without a drink… in a bar… where they should be. Besides that, the food I have eaten at tribes Is decent. I’m always willing to come back and try something new. This place is great to try new beers, but due to the frequent change don’t expect to have your favorite beer on tap. I haven’t tried any of the tribes beers yet so I can’t comment on that.

Came on a Sunday for lunch. Okay so I had heard a lot about tribes, a lot of my friends expressed great fondness for the place, so I decided to give it a go. The décor was awesome, I really liked the way it was set up. I would say it totally stands out in tinley park. The beer, is all craft or import. I didn’t ask if they had domestic, my preference. I was glad they had Stella on tap. If you like all the many craft beer options that keep popping up every week, I would say tribes is the place to be. The food: I tried to order off the menu, I wanted a chicken Caesar salad. Sadly, they don’t have romaine lettuce. So I moved onto my next choice. Baked mac and cheese. I asked if I could have it without the hot peppers. Again no dice, it’s pre made, so I couldn’t get it without peppers. I settled on the fish and chips. The fish, was very okay. The fries were actually really good. My friend had some type of taco dish and no drink. 2 lunch entrees and 1 beer 35 dollars… Not exactly a deal but not total highway robbery. The verdict: come here if you like craft beer, and maybe drive down the street and get some Wendy’s when you are done.

Just went here on a Wednesday night randomly because Texas Roadhouse was closed and we were craving steak. We actually never got steak. We order 2lbs of lobster and it was delicious!($ 35 with some sides and you can split between two people) I usually don’t like lobster. We also ordered two glasses of wine which is half off on Wed. I will be returning and wish it was closer to my work. It would be my new hang out place after work. There’s a lot of food on the menu that looks like it’s full of good and well thought ingredients. It’s not your typical bar-bland-fried food. I thought it was cute that our serve asked if we wanted placemats with our lobster because there were directions on how to eat a lobster. She probably could already tell that we like to eat a lot, so we could eat anything! Can’t wait to come back! It’s a great addition to orland park.

In a city plagued by chains and the people who eat there, one must seek refugee somewhere more local and original. That safe haven is Tribes Alehouse. This particular location is the second, and it’s the better option if you have a large group or like more elbow room. The menu has been modified over the years, but I know I can still expect a slew of good craft beer and solid bison burgers. Not a fan of this lean meat? You can ask for a chicken, turkey, veggie, and beef option for any burger they serve. Feeling ravenous? Do some damage to a Quebec poutine in all its gravy glory. Need cheese, carbs, and spice? Fan your tongue after a few dunks of the beer & cheese dip. In short, don’t support another run-of-the-mill Tinley chain — support local; support Tribes.

Bartenders know their beer! Highly recommend if you are a beer snob like me. They’ve got anything you’d want to see here beer wise, and bison burgers /tots and the steak on the menu looked awesome. Didn’t eat but found everyone there super friendly and able to answer any question I had. Over 50 beers on tap, plus 6 handles of wine. Also they have a cold press coffee on tap – high caffeine so watch out but tried it and it was great. Ryan my bartender knew his stuff. Food, beer, everything. Well informed and hope I get him next time too. I considered 4 or 5 other places tonight before deciding to come to Tribes. I made the right decision, love this place!

I come here fairly often with my fellow co-workers and there are some pros and cons for sure… let’s just leave it at that. Pros: –Extensive beer menu with some rarities from nationwide craft brewers. They always seem to have 3 Floyds Zombie Dust on draft which is certainly something. –Burgers are good with a decent lobster roll… which is weird considering its in the south burbs of chicago. –As a wisconsinite, their battered cheese curds have respect. Poutine is outta this world. Cons: –Slow revolving menu on the big screens. Some might think its a novel idea but it gets tired fairly easily with craning your neck non-stop. –The menu is truly never accurate, as there’s been a few times when I ordered beer listed as 16oz pours and they end up serving it in a tiny snifter glass. Asking the staff for clarification they simply respond that the menu isn’t correct… seems like that qualifies as a bait ‘n switch tactic if you ask me. –Bar keeps seem to skimp on the draft pours. I once ordered a beer that was at least filled with two inches of foam and it wasn’t even a nitrogen draft. Complaining to the waitress, she said she’d take it back in a minute for a top off, but seemed to have forgotten. –Service is rather inconsistent. They must turnover the waitresses quickly as every time I come here it looks as there’s a brand new staff. –Side dishes for sandwiches are completely mediocre. Trying to keep the lbs off for our upcoming nuptials, my fiancée and myself try to order sides other than fries. My spoon sized coleslaw looked as though it was bought at Jewel and my fiancée’s fruit was literally three small sized bites of cantaloupe — pathetic! Besides the relative succulent lobster roll, this place always seems to be nickel, diming and skimping you too much. If you choose to come here, sit at the bar so you can at least stare at the taps easily and mind your own pours.

If you’re driving to a concert in Tinley Park, this is not close enough. This restaurant is still a good 20 minute(or more depending on who is playing) drive to the amphitheater. We stopped on our way to see Ed Sheeran and I wish we would not have stopped. First of all, the restaurant itself is really cute. There’s tons of signs inside and the decoration is nice. It seemed like they had good specials as well. They had several different beer options and apparently some house ales as well. If you’re going here just for the drinks, it’s probably completely fine. We were seated almost instantly at 6 pm on a Wednesday night. No wait at all. That was the only time were were not left waiting. We sat down, and she let us have some time to look over the menu. She came back and we ordered our drinks and an appetizer. A different waitress brought us our drinks, so we didn’t have a chance to order our food. Fifteen minutes later, we received our appetizer. It was then that she asked us for our main entrée orders. Best way for American(or otherwise) dining is to take the complete order at once, and space things out for the customer. So then maybe 20 – 25 minutes later, we received our entrees. I ordered the veggie burger, he ordered the mac and cheese. I was excited as the veggie burger is house made. I was disappointed the moment I picked it up, when it fell apart in my hands. Seriously anything greater than light pressure and the patty completely fell to pieces. It as the consistency of mashed potatoes, which does not make for a good consistency of a burger. The flavor was there, but consistency was not. I genuinely had trouble eating it because any time I picked it up, more of the burger fell onto the plate. My husband ordered the mac and cheese. Though, I still have doubts that there was any cheese in the mac and cheese. He ate about 1⁄3 of it, which is surprising. He usually does not leave any on the plate. He didn’t complain, so I tried it. It tasted like pasta in a roux, but that’s about it. I tasted no cheese, just some peppers. It was supposed to have mozzarella, gouda, and cheddar in it. I brought it up the the waitress and she mentioned that she had customers say it was bland in the past. She brought it to the attention of the manager, who comped it from the bill. She said that the manager had tasted it and agreed it was bland as well. Thank god we didn’t have to pay $ 14 for that blah pasta. Apparently the cook is new, and still learning the recipes. I asked for a box, and then we waited for 15 minutes for said box. Once the box was brought, then we were handed the bill. We were ready for her to pick it up, but it just sat there for a long time. For one appetizer, two entrees, and two soft drinks, our time spent at this restaurant was just under 1.5 hours which is an insane amount of time for dinner at a restaurant such as this. It was NOT busy. Maybe 20 people total inside and outside, not all ordering food. Not a fan of the wait time, not a fan of the food. As I said, probably great for drinks, but not for dinner.
