The best sandwiches in the entire area hands down. Fresh ingredients, delicious and unique combinations, and perfect accompaniments including gourmet chips, fresh baked cookies, and seltzers. This place is well worth the drive to tiverton!

Stopped by for a quick lunch on the way back from Sakonnet Vineyard. The sandwiches were delicious and very filling. Get the Doctor Bombay sandwich… it’s curried chicken salad with a mango chutney spread. We enjoyed sitting indoors with our lunch looking at the various grocery items lining the shelves. They also have a nice wraparound porch for warmer days so you can enjoy your meal outside.

Snobby and rude! I walked in and walked right back out, I would rather spend my money somewhere else than be treated that way :)

I am a local and I have been enjoying the Provender in our special corner of RI since they opened their doors in Tiverton. The sandwiches are delicious with flavoring condiments and yummy bread choices. Add a bag of unique chips and cold sweet drink. Don’t forget dessert or pastry for later perhaps even a whole cake. Local products line the shelves for other indulgences and food adventures at home. Yesterday on the way to the beach, I wanted an iced latte, not a convenient drink in Tiverton or Little Compton. My sister and I stopped at Provender, easy parking. I got my iced latte and a delicious ham and cheese croissant, prepared the French way with taste of ham and cheese baked inside a croissant, delicate and buttery. My sister chose the croissant to eat on the beach. Picked up some healthy potato chips and pretzels as a snack for the beach. Find your way to Tiverton or discover the Provender while in our area of RI. You will be happy.

This is not the place to go if you want a gluten-free wrap. It was so bad that I took the time to talk to the manager about it. She agreed that it didn’t taste good, but said that was to be expected with gluten-free products. I disagreed with her. I have eaten gluten-free wraps that tasted quite good. If that is the best that their supplier can offer, then rethink offering something that you know tastes awful. It only serves to irritate a customer who has just paid $ 8.50 for something that everyone(including the servers in the kitchen who were quite nice) know doesn’t taste good.

Good sandwich, the Trekkie. The space is just a little tight on the day I was in and the system of ordering in one spot, paying in another, and going back to the first spot is a bit tough. While the sandwich was good I thought it was a bit on the expensive side for a veggie sandwich.

Provender is located in the four corners of Tiverton, one of the stops we made while on a weekend trip to Rhode Island. When we went, the town was pretty sleepy. It seems like only tourists stop by here, and there really doesn’t seem to be much to do in this town. You don’t get much food options here, so we stopped at Provender to get a quick bite. This place is known for their award winning sandwiches. You think, what can be so good about a sandwich? It’s meat and lettuce between two pieces of bread. However, at the Provender, you get a little more than that. They aren’t your typical deli sandwiches, you know the normal ones with mayo, mustard, lettuce and ham. These sandwiches at Provender are what you call gourmet sandwiches, with fancy spreads and cheeses, and it comes with a sticker price as well, at 9 bucks for a sandwich! And they’re regular sized, you know the ones you can fit into the sandwich bags that you put your PB&J in when you were a kid. But aside from the exorbitant price, the sandwiches are quite delicious. We ordered the Scarlet Letter, the Freudian Slip, the Brideshead Revisited and the Mamma Mia. –Scarlet Letter-It comes with turkey, cranberry sauce, tarragon mayo and sprouts. We liked this sandwich, because it was on the sweet side, with saltiness too. i just wish it had more sprouts. –Freudian Slip-It has black forest ham, herb cream cheese, honey mustard and spinach. I don’t recall there being any spinach. I think they might have put the horseradish mayo spread instead because i didn’t remember the roast beef one(Brideshead) to have it. Therefore, I liked it because I liked the contrast of the rich cream cheese with the spicy horseradish mayo. –The Brideshead Revisited-this was our least favorite probably because it was the one we ate last, so we were full by then. Also, we found it be the most bland. –Mamma Mia was our favorite sandwich, which has turkey, provolone cheese, garlic and basil mayo with roasted red peppers, tomatoes and lettuce. You can really taste all the ingredients that went into the sandwich, and the cheese they used was delicious. This also seemed to be the most popular. I would have given this place a better rating, but for the price of the sandwiches, I just couldn’t! And I didn’t like the fact that given it’s price, they don’t offer sandwiches with«real» meat, such as real turkey or chicken breast. This place only uses cold cuts. If you don’t mind the pricey sandwiches, stop by here to get something quick and delicious.

The Provender is STILL my go to sandwich spot in Lil’ Rhody. Great quality ingredients and friendly staff. Sandwiches come in half and whole sizes. If you’re not starving, I’d go with the half size and a bag of chips. They have quite a variety of unique drink offerings including Orangina, small batch sodas, iced teas and flavored waters. The pastries and desserts are delicious as ever and the Chocolate Orange cookie is still my favorite. The front porch is a great spot to eat your lunch and they always have some great seasonal decorations out front. The drive down Main Road is just lovely and be sure to check out the many other businesses in Tiverton Four Corners!

Coconut shortbread cookies. Wow. Yum. On the way in I was greeted by a nice young man with a basket of cookies and was offered a sample. I told him i’d take the sample on the way out. Bad plan, or good, depening on how you look at it. If I had the sample on the way in I would have bought a dozen and snarfed them in the car on the way to the beach! Great sandwiches made with the freshest of lettuce, sprouts, turkey, cheese, etc. Many combinations are available — the chalk board has them named — fancy bread and condiments — but i’m sure you could customize your order to something that suits you. This place is a treat. It is pricer than going to someplace like Subway. You’re lured in for the sandwich and drink but then you notice the case of pastries, the cooler of fancy juice drinks, and the cloche of fancy s’mores and before you know it you’ve spent $ 20. Totally worth it though.

I remembered eating here over 5 years ago and loving it, so I was super excited to give it another try & fuel up for our beach day. I ordered the Ham & Swiss sandwich — literally a 2 ingredient sandwich that you can add toppings and condiments to(they actually give you many great veggie options to add, and some different varieties of mayo and mustards). They were also out of onions when I asked. When I unwrapped it, excited to dig in– there was NO swiss! Beside the absence of cheese, the sandwich was quite thin and flavorless for the $ 8.50 price tag attached. The delicious honey mustard and good quality bread were the only things that gave merit to the experience. I went wanting to love it but left sadly dissatisfied. This place could really hit the mark if they just lowered the price point and made a better sandwich with their quality ingredients they already have. There are so many great sandwich places in this state– and this one could be one too, with a few revisions.

We stopped at Provender for the first time after being reminded of its existence after seeing their nice little«best of» award in Yankee magazine.(I think it was for best picnic provisions or something similar) The major plus(and one that added a star to this review actually) was the service. VERY friendly and quick. The place was somewhat busy just after noon on a Sunday and our sandwiches were ready almost immediately. Now while there were many pluses to our meal and the establishment itself, I start to take exception to a business that charges a premium price and delivers stale cookies. We chose the butterscotch chip and chocolate espresso. The butterscotch was dry and actually tasteless and the chocolate was weirdly underbaked with a sticky texture. Neither worth the $ 2+ea. Back to the sandwiches. They were very good. We had the… oh, crap, I can’t remember the cute names… the roast beef and horseradish sauce one and the turkey/cranberry combo. Both breads(marble rye and country white) and fixins were fresh and yummy. We took our sandwiches to go, the eating area just didn’t look well thought out. Overall, if we were in the area, we’d stop again for sandwiches. But I’d go across the street to Gray’s for dessert!

Provender knows how to make a sandwich worthy of ooh’s and ahh’s after every bite. The Freudian Slip is simply fantastic: tasty ham, layered with a slightly spicy honey mustard, crunchy spinach and oh so creamy herb cream cheese. The Mama Mia is also very good. The roasted red peppers pack a punch, so you need a hearty set of taste buds to devour the whole thing. And their cookies — oh the cookies! Their butterscotch ones light up my day, but my new goal now that I’ve moved to Tiverton, is to try each and every one. The giant collection of Stonewall Kitchen jams and mixes is a welcome bonus that is sure to cut down my trips to the company store in Maine.
