Food was excellent, staff was extremely friendly and patient even though we showed up 25 minutes before they closed. If you like Famous Dave’s you’ll love Two Drummers.

Very disappointed. Called the day before to see if I needed to order ahead for two family meals for Father’s Day. Was reassured that I did not and after further inquiry was told that they cook plenty of food and not to worry. After a day at Busch Gardens and a family of 8 ranging in ages from 3 – 82, takeout was the best option. When I called to order at 3:30 I was told that they were so busy they would not do takeout. However was also told that we could all come in and eat there. Obviously they were not out of food, just were under staffed or ill prepared. We have eaten there before and while the food is good, the restaurant is noisy and the long tables are difficult for group conversations. So no plans, no reservations anywhere, shopping at the grocery store that was out of a lot of food that late of Father’s Day and cooking after a day at the park was not the plan. All those l’m sorries didn’t help.

Fantastic little find on our way down to NC. We had the brisket, chicken, and ribs. The meat was tender and the sauces were delicious. They even allowed our dog on the patio.

I got a meal to-go and the service was amazing. When I arrived everyone was attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. Now for the food it was mediocre, I had to use a good helping of salt & pepper for the chicken and the ribs where mostly burnt. I really wanted to like it because the service was so great. The hush puppies and cornbread was good. The collard greens where good(needed salt as well). As an out town guest I won’t be trying this place again…

What a find!!! We where staying in Williamsburgh and after a bit of Unilocaling came across this spot so off we went. Lovely drive out to it through rural America and found the restaurant easily enough although it’s in the middle of nowhere. Plenty of locals in the car park which is always a good sign so in we went. Only slight complaint we had was we where seated in a room out the back away from the main crowd and atmosphere even though there was empty tables in the front bar area. There where 2 other people in the room we where sitting in and it felt a lot more quiet and formal. Food was great we ordered a couple of platters between 4 of us and dived in. All in all a good experience just a little let down by being segregated from the crowd.

This is a pretty solid place to eat near work. Working in Toano, there aren’t many places to choose from. There’s Subway at the gas station… and S’barro at the gas station. We had a work team event last Friday with a set menu, so I can only speak to that. I had the both the pulled chicken and pulled pork with the hottest of the sauces they offer. The sauce was tomato based and very good, but not as spicy as this girl likes. The mac and cheese was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by the beer list. I was expecting the Bud/Bud Light choices and instead I had a Lickinghole Creek Black IPA. If you are out Toano way, I would give them a try — just don’t make a special trip for it.

Got the brisket, cherry pork, and chicken with cornbread, Mac n cheese, green beans. Meats were decent and brisket was a little better. Sides were sub par but green beans were surprisingly fresh. We sat out on the patio. Group of guys being completely inconsiderate and using profanity(loudly) with small kids around. Sad that everyone out there had to be around their bafoonery.

Amazing food and service. An amazing restaurant that is locally owned and supports the community in which it operates.

Best BBQ in town! I’ve always enjoyed coming back to Williamsburg and stopping in at Two Drummers to have a great BBQ sandwich! Environment is great and food is outstanding, can’t wait to be back next time I’m in town.

Not impressed! My friends and I visited today because of the 4.5 star review. First off, the service was mediocre. Our waitress visited our table maybe 3 times during our entire stay and was not friendly. Second, they ran out of biscuits and it was 10:30 on a Saturday morning. Third, the food took well over 20 minutes to come out and the place was not busy and we ordered very simple things. Fourth, the food itself was terrible. My pancake was over cooked and dry, far from fluffy and my friends sausage seemed like it had sat out for awhile. I’m not sure what was going on today but my friends and I were pretty disappointed and am not sure where the glowing reviews came from for both service and food.

I’ve been here a few times now and each time enjoyed a tasty, well cooked, well-portioned meal. The beer menu supports local Virginia beers which is a HUGE plus. I can’t wait to come sit on the outside patio this spring/summer and eat some BBQ and drink some beers. I would say that this is hands-down the best BBQ in the Williamsburg/Norge/Toano area.

—-Let me give ya a little back ground before I start my review. We are from Chester, VA traveled to Williamsburg in plans to go to Captain George’s but it’s valentines weekend and it was SLAMMED and too COLD to wait outside. So we decided to go home disappointed after trying a few restaurants with ridiculous waits. — - On the way home Two drummers popped up on my Unilocal app, with so many good reviews we decided to stop. Sweet tea was great! We tried the sample platters(Jr.- pick twoOr Sr.-pick three). The ribs were flavorful but a bit tough, the brisket was FANTASTIC, chicken was nice and moist! The greens with bacon were pre-vingared so if you’re not one to put that on them I would pass, I still found them very good nevertheless! Mac and cheese, cornbread, green beans, Brunswick stew were also hits at the table. ***To the point? We traveled and expect unlimited seafood, ended up here and went home full, satisfied and money in our pockets! WINWIN! ******

Decent BBQ with very friendly service. I chose the smoked sausage and brisket combo. The sausage was very flavorful and the collard greens were tasty. I found the sweet potato fries rather flat and the brisket chewy and fatty. Would like to try some of the other meats next time.

The location is in the dumbest spot but I will tell you it’s worth the drive! The brisket lives up to the hype folks… ribs were good, the pork grinds were the best grinds I’ve ever had. The chicken was fine. The Brunswick soup was good. The food is really fresh and nothing seems old. Best bbq place in all of the region. If u have visitors from out of town, take them here to impress them with local food. They won’t be disappointed.

When with the two piece combo(chicken and ribs). Chicken was fine but the ribs were a lotta dry. Sides give it an extra half star but I can’t figure out how to give 3.5. Grits are amazing and so were the collards, sweet potato fries.

I LOVED the smokey flavor of the BBQ. And the collards were some of the best I’ve had. Reasonable prices, huge portions and friendly staff… what more could I ask for? I came here for a late lunch with my mother. She had the homemade Brunswick Stew, which was amazing. Nice big juicy pieces of chicken and pork in there and a really flavorful broth. I had the Cherry Smoked Pork plate, which came with a huge portion of BBQ(see photo) that was smokey and moist, and two sides. I went with the hushpuppies and collards– both were outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the salty flavor the bacon provided for the greens. We started with an order of the butternut squash fries, which were ok… I guess for«fries» I prefer crunchy to soft. Atmosphere was casual and friendly. Nice pit stop and(in my opinion) a more enjoyable experience all-around than the always-packed Pierce’s.
