The first time I went to Eddie Lee’s was the night before last. The second time I went to Eddie Lee’s was last night. That fact, alone, should say something. The other fact that I find impressive, is that both my mom and my mother-in-law(visiting from Cali) were totally satisfied… it’s rare when that shit happens. Like the sign out front says, Eddie Lee’s really is a Toledo Tradition, and I’m angry at myself for not coming here sooner. The reason we went initially, was to satisfy my wife’s craving for prime rib… and satisfied she was. Perfect medium rare? Check. Large portion? Check. Marbled perfectly, tender, and juicy? Check, check, and check. Throw in a house salad and potato, and you’re full. She says the prime rib ranks right up there with J Alexander’s and Northwood Villa’s. I had steak both times, and both times it was perfectly grilled. The 9 ounce filet came topped with three onion rings, included a choice of potato or veggie, and a house salad. I was very satisfied. My ONLY criticism is that the steak could have been seasoned a bit more. My mom had the grilled pork chop, and loved it. The portion was more than she could eat; she was forced to ask for a doggy bag. My mother-in-law had the crab cakes. I swear, I honestly didn’t expect my M.I.L. to dig the crab cakes, but she loved them! They came with a nice dill sauce and some sides. My step-father-in-law had the Lake Erie perch dinner. The portion was huge and the batter was light and crispy(as opposed to overly thick and crunchy). He loved it, but couldn’t finish… doggy bag number two. My kids were very happy with the chicken tenders(made with the same batter as the perch) one night, and ½ steak each, the next. Service? Fast, friendly, and accurate both nights. Crowd? Yeah, ok. Eddie Lee’s looks a bit like a geriatrics ward. But there were quite a few families with kids. What I didn’t see were any young couples there for date night; Eddie’s doesn’t seem to be that kind of place. Atmosphere? Dated but clean. They could use some new carpet. Also, there’s a nice little bar in the back corner, separated from the main dining areas. I was raised in Toledo, so of course I’d heard of Eddie Lee’s. And again, I’m angry that, during the seven years that I’ve been back in town, I hadn’t eaten here until the other night. Easy 4 stars for this Toledo Tradition. We’ll be back, and if things are consistent, I’ll make it 5.

I have been eye balling this place for a few months. I was delighted to see all the prime rib raves. The staff was very friendly and the prime rib did not disappoint i will definitely be back

Have only eaten here once. Which was a dress rehearsal, wedding party. So the menu, at least for our party was limited. Was not impressed with the food @ all. In their defense they probably have a much better selection on the regular dinner menu. They did, however do a good job accommodating our very LARGE party.

Can’t get a better price on prime rib. The founder’s son runs the restaurant. He recognized my 92 year old dad and helped him to a seat close to the entrance since walking through tables is hard for him. Took time to have a little conversation with dad and made him feel good. My dad loves this place for the prime rib but tried their shrimp and enjoyed that very much too. Will definitely return.

The best food in Toledo. Excellent prime rib and filet minion. Great place to celebrate our 51st anniversary.

I went to Eddie Lee’s about a month ago and had the best Prime Rib for $ 16. The Perch was also very good. Service was good. A little chatty but the waitress fit right in with the clientele. We noticed the restaurant seemed segregated: Families with small kids in one section, aging seniors in another section and 20’s-40’s in a different area. Not sure if this was intentional.

Best steak in town. Service is phenomenal, atmosphere is wonderful, food is moderately priced and exceptionally good. This is by far my favorite restaurant.

Well. This restaurant has been in my family’s nearby neighborhood for ages. I do remember coming here as a child for when we wanted a nice treat. I remember it being a darker place, though, but the eighties were kind of a dark place in general décor wise. They must have remodeled in the meanwhile but it looks like it should have another soon, still a little outdated. The clientele looked a little outdated too, I think we were the youngest in there, and my mom is 65. My mother and I came for the prime rib special which sounded like a pretty good deal. Potato and prime rib for a reasonable price? Sure why not. The waitress was an older lady, and she was curt and impersonal. There wasn’t anything friendly about her to us, which for me, waitstaff has to walk a fine line between personable and not tooo personable. We put our order in and shrugged it off. I ordered a French onion soup because I remember it being good from my childhood, but this was a disappointment. The soup was bland, the cheese was gummy, and it wasn’t very hot at all. At this point it started to get really loud in the restaurant. I had no clue that the older generation got so inebriated. The table behind us were very friendly with our waitress, and I realized you might have to be a regular in order to stir something more than apathy from her. I think what tipped my experience from eh to oh no was when the waitress brought out our food. The prime rib was served on a platter full of au jus, and the potato was brought out in it’s own small plate sitting on TOPOFTHEMEAT. So basically, the bottom of the plate was sitting on top of the actual meat. I couldn’t believe it. If you’ve got too many plates, get a serving tray. It didn’t help that the meat was way too salt even though I’m a salt lover myself. I just couldn’t get beyond a bottom of a plate sitting upon my food right before it is placed on the table before me. I can handle a bad meal, it happens, but unhygienic practices are a no no for me. This was a really disappointing experience.

My husband and I lived in the Toledo area for quite a few years and always enjoyed a good meal at Eddie Lee’s. We were always impressed that Willi, the owner, remembered our names when we walked in the door. We later moved to Columbus and hadn’t been back to Eddie Lee’s in quiet a few years. This past Sunday we were driving through Sylvania and decided to stop for dinner. The place looked exactly the same, Willi was very courteous and he even remembered us and came over to out table to see where we had been all these years. Most importantly we probably had the best meal ever! My prime rib was excellent, my husband had the perch, which he loved, and our son visiting from North Carolina enjoyed his dinner as well. Its simple good cooking, good service, excellent management and a comfortable place to have dinner. We hope that Eddie Lee’s never changes because it will always be one of our favorite restaurants in the Toledo area.

Well, it is what it is. It has a bit of an old supper club feel, and this may explain the mainly geriatric patrons. I like the table cloths, fairly prompt, friendly service, and cocktails. The food is ok. It’s not expensive. It’s not a night-on-the-town kind of place or for a special occasion. We will likely go back.

Overall, this was a pleasant meal. The server was very kind and generous — was here with a big group and she went out of our way to accommodate(veggie and gluten free diets). I had the perch and it tasted fresh and was seasoned well. I know it is a Toledo institution, but the décor could use a refresh. Definitely try it if you are in the area.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. The French onion soup was delicious and the prime rib was exceptional. Our waitress, Charlene, was great. She made us feel very special. We look forward to returning soon!

We were there tonight for my husband ‘s great aunt & uncle ‘s 60th wedding anniversary tonight. The wait staff was great — great service, food came out at a great cadence. There were a couple things that make me rate this 3 stars: * While they have highchairs — and a guy there was quick to ask if I needed one, their restrooms lack changing tables. I had to change a well loaded diaper on the small counter in the women’s restroom. * The house salad was nothing spectacular. The bread looked like something I’d pick up at Kroger. Overall, I was left underwhelmed by the food.

This place used to be great years ago, but it has definitely gone downhill. With my most recent visit, and probably my last, I was excited to see perch as one of the specials. When you make something a special, you would think they would have a large quantity of it. I went just before 6p, ordered perch, and then the waitress came back and said they were out. Unfortunately since the place has gone downhill, nothing else on their menu actually appealed to me or was something I could eat based on dietary needs. I had a small house salad and cottage fries as my dinner that night. I can only dream now of the days when I could go there and get perch like my grandmother used to make.

Not Worth It. Bad atmosphere and bad food. The furniture and décor are outdated and old. Rude waitstaff. The meals are bland, expensive and small. My husband and I went twice in two years for my father-in-law’s birthdays. I got fish one time and shrimp the next. Most entrees come only with a plain baked potato(sour cream extra) and no vegetable. My husband hated it the first time, got prime rib the second time and enjoyed that. Overall, bad atmosphere and bad food. Would never return.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a meal at Eddie Lee’s for my birthday. Since we rarely get out without our infant son anymore, we decided to make it special and go out for prime rib; Eddie Lee’s was therefore at the top of our list. We started with salads and an appetizer of escargot with a garlic sauce. The garlic sauce was especially garlicky, even for my garlic-loving husband, which isn’t to say that it wasn’t still delicious. We also enjoyed a cup of the French Onion soup, which was as spectacular as everyone has been saying. The main course, as I mentioned, was prime rib, and it didn’t disappoint in the least. Perfectly cooked, buttery texture… my mouth waters just remembering it! The staff had no idea it was my birthday, or that we had a baby at home with a sitter, but they still made us feel like we were having a special evening out. I’m looking forward to the next time we come here for a special evening!

My husband and I ate dinner here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was really good and the drinks were strong. We had 3 meals to pick from that included: salmon, chicken kabob, and prime rib. My husband ordered the prime rib and it was really good but it was a super fatty piece of meat. I know prime rib can be fatty but over 1⁄3 or more of it was fat. I ordered the salmon and it came with fresh green beans and baked potato. Delish! We were given a choice between two desserts: raspberry cheesecake and chocolate cake. My husband and I were not very impressed by the either. The chocolate cake was very rich and I would even call it a death by chocolate cake. I had a small problem with the open bar. We could basically get 2 drinks and it was shut down. The same person who made our drinks(super strong!!) also took our dinner order and served our food. That was a lot for one person to handle for the size of our dining party

THEWORSTRESTAURANT I HAVEEVERBEENTOINMYENTIRELIFE. This is not an exaggeration either. I don’t live in Toledo, but I have spent the entire summer here. And what am I taking away from my time in Toledo? Well I have finally experienced the worst restaurant on the planet. My boyfriends parents gave us a gift certificate to Eddie Lee’s(because even they didn’t want to go there for free!) and we decided to go on a week night. When we walked in, no one was there to seat us. We stood there for a few minutes, with all kinds of staff walking by, until someone finally seated us. And then more waiting. A few different servers came to our table to order our drinks and yet no drinks were brought! When we finally did get out drinks, we had to wait AGAIN for someone, anyone, to come and get our order. Finally an older woman came to take our order and when I asked her about a certain dish, she didn’t seem knowledgeable. So I ordered the scallops because nothing else looked that great and I didn’t want our server to walk off and take an eternity to come back. When our salads came out, both my salad and my boyfriends lettuce was browning — it was clearly very old. Neither one of us ate it, which agitated our server. Our entrees came out not long after the salads(which was surprising considering how long everything else took) and to say the least, it was horrible. My scallops were suppose to be seared with garlic and they were really small, hardly seared and the garlic was brown and just thrown on top of my scallops. It was greasy, underwhelming and very unsatisfying. My boyfriend got a prime rib and he said it was only okay and his side dish wasn’t even touched. When we were both done, we waited, once again, for an eternity for our bill. When we finally got it, we waited some more until they picked it back up to charge the meal. I walked out of that place regretting that we even ate there at all(thank god it was free!!!) and I felt like I needed to eat an entirely new meal somewhere else to get the greasy, gross feeling out of my stomach. I am sure this place use to be really great, 10 years ago. But now its full of old retired seniors whole like to spend their hard earned money on mediocre food.

Seriously the ONLY place I eat Prime Rib, and I dont even live in Toledo. The service is great, its old school to say the least! Would have had them cater my wedding if our venue let us but instead we have to settle for our rehersal dinner. Love love love!

This has become one of my all time favorite shops because it has the best prime rib I have ever had in my life! The prime rib was the juiciest, tenderest I have eaten. HIGHLYRECOMMEND!!!
