I love the thin crust pizza at Homeslice! Sit upstairs at the bar and the bartenders are friendly and the pizza is stellar(all of them!!!)

I live a few blocks away from this place downtown. I’ve been disappointed with this restaurant before but the two places we wanted to eat at, Kengo & The Durty Bird(both great places to eat), were full so we decided to stop in. At the time, there were about 15 people in the upstairs lounge. There were 2 or 3 people working upstairs and finally a server came over about 8 – 10 minutes later to greet us and give us menus. We ordered quickly and got our chicken wings within about 10 minutes. We asked for silverware and our dipping sauces and waited. Then the pizza came about 5 minutes later, still no silverware or dipping sauces. Another ten minutes passed so I decided to eat a piece of the sloppy pizza as is. Although I kept giving the server across the bar the eye, he never came back by again. To make matters worse a really trashy group came in to sit at the bar near our table. This women then took a chair from our table without even asking, and made a rude remark about my boyfriends haircut for whatever reason, as we were just sitting there drinking beer staring at the food we couldn’t eat. The couple then continued to be pretty obnoxious, with the women and her boyfriend arguing about her rude behavior. After about another few minutes we finished our beer and finally the server came back to ask if we wanted another. We asked for a box and a check. We took the pizza and wings home where we had our own sauces and beer ready without rude obnoxious people and bad servers. We weren’t the only ones getting bad services as I heard someone else talking to the servers about the slowness, and the serves saying they were«trying» and that working there they only make money off of tips. I would suggest if that were the case they should have given better service. My boyfriend left a tip, even though there was no other service provided than them delivering our food. $ 40 later the experience was terrible and over-priced. We would have had better food and a better experience just ordering Vito’s at home.

Home slice pizza has a choice location in downtown Toledo. Great for a late night bite after the bars. The atmosphere is cool, as it is a two story urban pizza place. Beers are available too. However, a few things are disappointing about it. First, it should change its name to thin slice. Not very filling at all. Split a large pizza with a friend, was ready for more. Also, the specialty pizzas are fully priced and you will leave hungry. Recommend take out orders as you will have to deal with hearing drunk banter if you sit down and eat.

I’ve only ever had their pizza so I can only comment on that. It’s very good, however, do not eat here if you want to get full. With that said, it’s nice to be able to eat pizza and not want to throw up afterwards. It’s super thin crust and it just hits the spot without leaving you bloated and wishing you hadn’t eaten it. It’s reasonably prices and pizza’s are half off on Tuesdays from 5 – 11 I believe, it’s worth a visit. Like I said though, don’t expect to feed starving mouths with this pizza, it’s good for a casual light date or late snack.

Expensive, but good. Only really worth it if you have a deal/coupon. There is better pizza for cheaper(ZaZa’s).

The pizza is good dont get me wrong, but the first time I tried their pizza I grabbed the pizza box to take it home to eat and I thought the box was empty. I like thin crust but it was to to to thin. I would rather eat pizza papalis on monroe.

Got a personal margherita pizza with extra basil. Boy was I surprised that the basil was dried and not fresh like real margherita pizzas! So basically it was a cheese pizza with tomatoes on it. Don’t get me wrong, I ate it and it was ok, but it was very disappointing because it’s not what it said was. I would eat here again but I wouldn’t get that.

Great, local pizza place. The most convenient place to grab a pizza downtown and also the best option. I suppose you could order from elsewhere, but those pizzas can be had anywhere in NW Ohio. The restaurant has a dive bar feel, which suits it well. The pizza is very thin, so you should definitely order the next size up if you’re hungry.

One of my favorite pizza places in Toledo. They make the pizza where you can see it. Spinning the dough the old fashioned way.

Bought the 10 for 20 deal and so I ordered a large pepperoni and pineapple with an order of wings. The order came out to 19.73 and so I didn’t have to pay anything extra. Pizza and wings are both very tasty. The buffalo wings are a bit small but pack a punch and have a nice crisp to them. The pizza was thin(NY style) but very tasty. 2 thumbs up ;)

Great pizza! Fun for kids on a Monday(non game) night! Support local! Kids ordered personal pizzas which they always love. We’ve been here before but tried the potato pizza for the first time — yum!

Delicious! We got the potato and XXL cheese. Had been on the road for about 9hrs so we called ahead and ordered, and a table and cooked pizza were waiting for us when we arrived! Yum! I am rating 4 stars because the staff were pretty inattentive and not super friendly as you would want from a restaurant, but that seems like the style of the place. Serve yourself drinks, bar upstairs, outdoor patio, street parking. There was a game at the stadium nearby so it was tough finding parking but at the last minute someone pulled out and we got a spot right out front! I would highly recommend this place, just don’t expect to be catered to like you normally would at a restaurant, which I didn’t mind terribly. The pizza is really delicious. Get the potato!

Perfect thin crust pizza, go with the loaded potato for a hearty filling dinner, or maybe chicken parm for a lighter flavor. However I did both… It was perfection.

It’s a pretty good pizza place. Service is pretty quick. Toppings are tasty but could use some more options.

Great experience tonight! Had one of the best blueberrytinis I’ve ever had! The bartender rocks! The pizza was also amazing! Definitely like that there’s an upstairs bar & patio, but also dining downstairs. My husband & I will most definitely be returning.

Good thin crust pizza. Nothing too special about this pizza but it was made well and the toppings were very fresh. They’re open pretty late, so good for a late night snack. They are a bit pricey but luckily my group had a couple groupons which decreased the price significantly

Love this place! Great Pizza, the Potato Pizza is one of my favorites! If I travel downtown then I’m normally here and always stop by before or after a Mudhens game. On weekends they do normally have some type of music at the upstairs bar as well. Great place for takeout if you’re a downtown employee or resident.

Fabulous vibes and great pizza. We ordered the spinach and artichoke cheesy bread and the buffalo chicken pizza. The cheesy bread was the best we ever had and the flavor of the pizza was spot on. Our service was exceptional which was nice even though it was really crowded. The only thing we were a little unhappy with was the whiskey selection but the craft beers made up for it Will definitely be back.

Where do I begin? I am a farely new fan of Home Slice Pizza. I have been going there for almost 3 years, but I say NEW because I was introduced to it by my boyfriend who has been going there for YEARS. this is his FAVORITE pizza place. This is a really great pizza place, very delicious and the staff is super friendly. We live downtown, so this place is VERY convenient for us. However, living downtown has its downfalls, hardly anyone delivers downtown because there just arent many delivery places around. Since Home Slice is downtown, it would be SUPER convenient for us and they would definitely get TONS of business from us because sometimes in this cold weather, we dont feel like driving or walking. Delivery is this place’s only downfall. if you are downtown, and in the mood for pizza, this is a wonderful place to try!

I heard about this little gem on Unilocal when searching for pizza places downtown. I’m a big fan of NY style pizza. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is pretty decent, there is a patio outback and an upstairs with a bar which feels better than the downstairs area. We always go during mid-day so it’s not packed like it is after a Mud Hens game or so. The pizza is delicious, generous on toppings and it’s a good crust. Not soggy and sloppy like a lot of fakes. I’ve been here multiple times and always have to go once in a while when I am downtown. Makes for a great little date as you can take a walk down by the river or downtown. To all you nay-sayers complaining about the thickness of the pizza or the price… you know what NY style pizza means, right? Lol I would definitely recommend to check out this place if you are in the downtown area and hungry for pizza!
