With limited delivery options downtown, I decided to give this place a try. Over all this is a good place for lunch, the chicken kabob sandwich was kind of small but very tasty, the hummus was a bit bland but acceptable. The fries were seasoned and very good.

Had lunch there Friday. Food was very good. Had the chicken shawarma and it was as good if not better than Grape Leaf diner. Little more than I wanted to spend but the portions were generous. I will be going back!

In the mood for Mediterranean food, a friend and I walked to Lazeez for lunch. Being noon, the restaurant was moderately busy with the lunch rush, but it only took us a couple of minutes of waiting to make it to the head of the line. Wanting to try a variety of items, I ordered the Lazeez Plate, which came with a cup of soup(I picked the tomato) and a soda. Before tax and tip my bill came to $ 7.99, which is really good for a downtown lunch. However I should note that most entrée items were a buck or two more expensive, and the drink cups quite small(about half the size of the small at McDonalds). After filling my unusually small cup with soda, we selected a window seat and proceeded to wait for our food. The restaurant was bright and airy, with very large windows looking out on North St. Clair Street. A couple of televisions were on the walls, as well as large posters featuring delicious looking Mediterranean foods. While the tables had attractive tablecloths, they were covered with smaller, sometimes ill-fitting plastic covers, which gave the tables a slightly greasy feel. My food was ready about five minutes sooner than my friend’s, so being a slow eater, I dug in straight away. Most of the items I ordered were good, but not spectacular. However the two exceptions were the hummus, which was excellent, and the baba ghanoush, which was unusually bitter. Also while the grape leaves had a good flavour, they were only lukewarm. I have had hot grape leaves and cold grape leaves, but this was a first for lukewarm ones. Overall I rate Lazeez as being Good, and would return.

I had the chicken Shawarma. The wrap was really standard… Nothing to complain about. Garlic sauce was good. I gave 4 stars for value. For $ 6.99 you get a chicken shawarma combo with a side and a drink! Amazing value for a healthy fast food alternative.

I attempted to place a delivery order but was turned off due to the fact I had to call six times to get someone to answer the phone, then when someone did answer their customer service was horrid. Very, very careless.

The best Mediterranean food I’ve had in all of Toledo. The Kafta platter, simply put, makes me happy. It is absolutely delicious. The only reason I won’t go 5 stars is that eating off disposable plates and forks kinda kills any«charm» effect, but at the same time might be yet another reason I love this place.

I have had Mediterranean food all over Toledo. Super fast carry out! Beef shawarma was a great size and tasted great! A small order of Fattoush salad is perfect size for lunch! You can tell the hummus is made in house. I definitely recommend this place for lunch down town!

I think I’m what you’d call a regular at Lazeez. Once or twice a week qualifies, right? The chicken shawarma on a greek or garden salad is awesome. Hummos and grape leaves are my staple go to items and are always amazing. After reading James B’s review I wanted to chime in. Sometimes when you bite a rolled grape leave part of the vein of the leaf comes off. I suppose it could look like a long hair, but trust me it’s not. Definitely not two in times a row. Besides, have you seen the guy’s hair cuts? ;) The only thing that would make this place better for me is if it was closer to my office.(Yes, I know they deliver.)

If they had zero stars I would give it. Stopped in to buy some grape leaves for lunch. Took them back to the office to enjoy. Bit into my first one and it had a long hair in it. I threw it away and figured that this happens in food sometimes. I grabbed my second one and another long hair… this was a bit much for me to handle. Everything went in the garbage. I will never eat there again!

YIKES! Came in last week and my grape leaves were literally dry and tough. I truly hope it was a one time thing.

This place had really good food. I decided to go on a whim when I found myself hungry and downtown. They had convenient meter parking right out front. I went it and it wasn’t busy at all(went at 330pm). The guy behind the counter told me all they had left was what was behind the counter, so I made a mental note next time to go earlier. Anyways he was pretty friendly, explained what some of the items were since I’m not too familiar with middle eastern food. My food was good, and he warmed it up for me. Also, I checked in and Unilocal and got a 10% discount on my food which is always great. I would love to go back and try some of the other items on their menu, and I think it is a great place to go for lunch. You can either dine in or carry out.

Went here for lunch for the first time. A great place. Very clean quick service and the food was great. I had the chicken shawerma sandwich combo, the spices in it were the best I’ve had here in toldeo and it’s simply done. It seemed pretty empty when I went in so I am assuming if you wanted to dine in, it would be a pretty good location for that. The prices are very reasonable as well and there is a parking complex directly next to the restaurant so parking is not an issue. I will be going back.

Extremely Poor Service on Carry Out Orders. I work right across the street from the restaurant and therefore it should be very convenient. However, the service is extremely slow for a place that is little more than fast food. When I went in this afternoon I confirmed repeatedly that they placed my order as a steak kabob platter, because I was concerned they’d give me Kafta. After waiting for awhile and again asking if it was steak when my order came up, I was told that it was. I opened the container only to find it was chicken. I was told I’d need to wait another five minutes to get my order. After waiting nearly 10 minutes my order came up. I tried to explain to the person behind the counter that they were becoming known for sending people away with the wrong orders and therefore losing business. I have a few coworkers that now refuse to go there. The person working behind the counter apologized, but took no responsibility. He stated that he only cooked what was printed on the ticket and even placed blame on the customers by saying they just didn’t know how to order. The food here is good, but it’s not good enough to over come the poor service. Myself and a few others I know will not be returning.

Great food and very reasonable. I love the Chicken Shwarma sandwich. You can get a platter witha sandwich, a generous portion of homemade hummus and pita bread(or you can subsstitute rice or fries) and a pop for $ 5.99 to $ 6.99. The hummus is homemade and my favorite side. I haven’t tried the rice but the fries have a seasoning salt on it that is very good. Two brothers own and operate Lazeez and both are always very friendly, as is the rest of the staff. All the food is made fresh while you wait, including the fries and the food prep area is in plain view so you can see them making the food. Since it’s all made to order, there is a few minute wait involved but it is well worth the wait. MUCH better than Rayna’s. Great addition to downtown.

La Zeez has quickly become one of my favorite lunch spots Downtown. I pretty much stick to the same order as it never disappoints: Chicken Shwarma with yellow rice instead of fries. It’s a filling meal for $ 6. The Lentil soup is also terrific, as are the spinach and cheese pies. It’s typically pretty quick, quick, and friendly service. Highly recommended, especially for those on a time and/or budget crunch looking for a quick, quality, healthy meal for under $ 10. Another bonus — they’re open tintil 6pm AND open Saturday afternoons! And, pretty sure they deliver for lunch. Confession: I do feel like I’m cheating on my beloved Ranya’s(right around the corner!) every time I eat there.

Another lunch option downtown is always a good thing. My first trip to Lazeez didn’t disappoint — Shawarma chicken wrap with rice substituted for fries. I would recommend both. For a restaurant that has only been open one week they seem to be working smoothly. I stopped in during the lunch hour and every table was full, yet I still received my to-go order in about the same amount of time it took for me to fill up my drink cup. If this place was somewhere other than Toledo I’d have given it another star. But with Mediterranean lunch competition from places like Tiger and Zingos, the food was good but not quite as good as some others.

Lazeez just opened this week, but if their quality remains high and their speed improves, they’ll be around for quite a while. I ordered the mojadara — a Middle Eastern dish I’d never tried before — and the cashier asked if I wanted the platter or the smaller size, which wasn’t listed on the menu. I was glad he did, because I wasn’t really interested in the platter. I padded out my lunch with a small order of grape leaves and a glass of water, and only spent $ 7.50 after tip. The prep area is in full view of the waiting customers, so you can see that everything is clean and well-kept. They were short a cashier the day I visited, so the service was a bit slow due to one of the kitchen staff having to man the register, but the food was worth the wait! Apart from the slow service(which will be remedied, I’m sure), my only other complaint is that I found the grape leaves to be a bit dry. Nothing a side of yogurt couldn’t fix, though. Looking forward to my next visit — which will be soon.
