Stopped here and got a cinnamon twist. It was very good. I noticed that had lots of other tasty looking items — for when I return! Pastry’s. . yum

Ever sine the closing of Strauss bakery I thought no one could compare until I found Thrush’s! I had them do my Wedding cake and they did everything I asked for all the tiers, the designs, color and flavor(banana, lemon, chocolate and champagne)! My cake was moist, the frosting was perfect light and not too sweet! Delicious and everyone raved over it! Thanks Thrush’s! I will always buy cakes and goodies from you Oh yea did I mention they’re pricing is very reasonable can fit any budget!

All I can say about this place is the people are really nice. The lemon cupcake looked really good but it is mad with artificial lemon flavor and you know it right away. The jelly doughnut and long-john were greasy and the buttercream icing, that by the way you can buy to use on your own cake, was bad. No butter taste at all. I am not from the area and am not sure if this is the only game in town so that is why it is still open.

Stopped by Thrush’s Pastry Shoppe earlier today to pick up some pastries and baked goods for my parents who are in town this weekend. Despite being a lesser known bakery(say, compared to Wixey Bakery), I personally found TPS to be quite comparable. What WB did not offer, TPS had, vice versa. Taste-wise, I found the sweets I’ve sampled, which included the chocolate petit fours, Chinese cookie, and caramel praline brownie, to be delightful. Faced with innumerable options, I had a hard time making up my mind what to pick out for my parents and what to pick out for myself. From giant ho-ho cakes(which I know my parents will not come close to) to ‘luscious lemon’ cupcakes as big as your head, TSP has pretty much covered every bakery aspect thinkable. Birthday cakes that were on display were also just as impressive, and the prices that came with the cakes, IMHO, were very reasonable. The same can be said about the wedding cakes they proudly presented as well. While I do admit to the fact that the building could use a face-lift, I think all that matters is the quality of the baked goods presented.
