Tony Packo’s

We are spending the week in the Maumee Bay area, having fun traveling around and site seeing & shopping. We stopped at The Andersons General Store, which is one of our favorites. We were thrilled that they had a Tony Packos inside the store! As this is one of the places we wanted to try.
We both ordered the chili dog meals, mine with soup and the hubs got the chili mac. The chili dogs were very good, but they tasted pretty much like Netty“s. (We try to stop at Netty’s when we are at the lake. We had no clue there is a Netty’s in Toledo!) The hubs said we could have spent half as much if we went to Netty’s! But it was the EXPERIENCE of actually going to a Tony Packos… so it was worth it to us.
The chicken soup was absolutely wonderful! Very, very flavorful. The hubs didn’t really like the chili mac, said it needed more sauce.
Again, great experience! The girl who waited on us was very nice and answered this newbies questions. The manager was also very friendly and said if we were new at this, he would definitely recommend getting a chili dog (well, I dont think THEY call them chili dogs, but that’s what we call them!)

I think you have to be in the mood for a loaded chili dog– but if you are in the mood for it, it is tasty. I’m not sure if I love it so much I’d want to bring it home with me, but it’s fine. On the week of your birthday, you get a free meal! Just show your driver’s license or other proof of your birthday. I wouldn’t go more than once in a week though– that might be a little much.

Chili Dogs and Pickles that are really tasty…

I like this spot because it’s located inside The Andersons. It’s a little pricey, but it’s well worth it if you’re in the mood for a great hot dog.
