I often heard of this place but never had the pleasure of a Colosso Taco until I started dating my husband. It’s a tradition for us to go every New Years Eve. Now, I don’t think I’ve ever had food from here when I’ve been completely sober, but I think I would love it just the same. There is something about a Colosso that’s like no other taco. You would never guess by the looks of things when you walk in… it’s riddled with a few booths and video games up against the walls. The menu above the counter is old school and hand written signs advise customers of new offerings. They offer more than just tacos of course. There is a full menu of subs and other pizzeria food. There’s nothing fancy about this joint. But, I dare you to try one… you will be hooked forever!

This place is one of the few places you can go every time and get the same meal, greasy, calorie ridden, saturated goodness.

This is a Tonawanda staple! An institution! A tradition! I don’t know if I’ve ever had food here sober so my review may be a little skewed. This is definitely the best place to get food after midnight in the Tonawanda area. The steak they use on their subs is the chopped up kind — not the sliced kind. I prefer the chopped kind a lot. It’s very greasy but in a great way. Their shoestring fries are great as well. All of their fries are great, really. You have to wait a little bit for your food but that’s not a problem. It’s also not the cleanest of places but if you’re wasted and hungry, that’s not much of a problem either.

Whenever I find myself in Tonawanda, I make sure to stop by Colosso Taco for their chicken fingers. They are some of the best I’ve ever had in this area. Crisp on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside. I never even bothered to order anything else when I come. The place itself is on the small side and definitely has a dive feel to it. There are several arcade games and a pinball machine to pass the time. It’s definitely a place to go after you’ve had a few drinks. If you aren’t the drinking type, they have takeout so you won’t have to stay for long. The service is quick and the guys who run the place are very friendly. Anytime I have to wait longer than usual they have always compensated me with a free drink or some fries. If you’re craving some late night food after a few drinks, it’s hard to beat Colosso Taco.

I absolutely love this place’s pizza. The wings are hit and miss. Taco salads are okay. Nice size but once I ordered the chicken option and it was appalling. Like they used shredded watery chicken from a can. Their saving grace has to be the taco pizza though. This is the type of item you end up craving a week later. Its like deep dish taco pizza. One piece will feed a small army. Service can definitely be improved but I’ve never had a serious issue. They need to figure out their tipping system though. Some ask on the phone some don’t. But I don’t like being pressured to tip if it takes longer or the driver is rude and asks for a tip. They run great weekly specials and are open super late.

I ate the food here once when I was sober and had to give most of it to my dog. come here after 10 drinks and it turns into a 5 star feast for drunkards. Order a stinger sub hot with blue cheese, side order of mini tacos and shoe string fries. Those were the days…

Pretty dirty place, but their food isn’t too bad. The good is pretty cheap and they have a big selection of tacos. There are cheeseburger tacos, stinger tacos, and even pizza tacos. The large tacos are pretty big, but I still need about three to fill up. Haven’t tried their pizza yet, heard it’s good.

My husband and I always try to make it out here after we go to a local concert. It is great food for when you have been drinking. The stinger subs are the best thing I have ever tasted, must be because the employees are usually high as a kite. I highly recommend. –Judy

After years of hearing about this place from my friend, I finally got a chance to try it while visiting Buffalo for a wedding. The ambiance is a bit shady(but nothing bad), but the food was insane. Loved it. I wish there were a place to get chicken finger subs out West…

Came here for lunch. I had the Stinger taco which kind of looked like a burrito cause it was so huge. But it was just OK, although freshly made and good ingredients, the flavor wasn’t all that. I’m addition, it was pretty sloppy and I probably ate too much of it cause I could hardly walk out even though I only ate half of it. It’s a small joint and you should order before coming to make sure your foods ready if you need to eat for lunch and you’re coming from Grand Island. They do have good poppers. I can go for some right now although I’ll pass on the greasy smells.

Named after the Colosseum in Rome because everything they serve looks identical to those Roman ruins. True story. ;) I used to come to this place all the time because it was fairly cheap, open incredibly late, and not too horribly far from where I used to live. It never had the best food in the world, but the tacos weren’t bad(similar style to Mighty Taco but infinitely better), and they introduced me to the Stinger sub(Steak and Chicken Finger, Buffalo style)… they even have Stinger tacos, which are pretty awesome. Still, the food is far from being the best of its kind you’ll find in Buffalo, but it’s a late night must if it’s past Midnight in the Tonawanda/North Tonawanda Riviera area because there aren’t many other options and this isn’t half bad! I’d also like to do a shout out to the gorgeous Elizabeth that used to work there. Not a bad place. Decent wings, the Stinger Taco is delicious, and it’s definitely a decent place to grab a bite to eat in Tonawanda, especially if it’s well after midnight. The employees are awesome and the food is definitely not bad, though it’s far from great.

While staying in Niagara Falls, NY we were looking for a mexican place to eat. This came up as an option, though a little out of the way. We were not very happy overall. The place is beat up, the employees were innatentive, and the food was nothing worth praising. It seemed that people that live nearby come in to get some food, but our impression was that it’s not very popular. I’d pass.
