First timer… I got the«Famous sandwich». Basically a cheeseteak sandwich… WONDERFUL! Tasty and loaded with meat and cheese. I also got a large chicken taco. It might was well be called a burrito. If you like«white-man’s, East-Coast» type tacos on room temp flour tortilla… then this is the place for you. I prefer authentic-type tacos on corn tortillas. Although I’ll never get a taco here again, I’m looking forward to trying more hoggies and fries. They looked and sound amazing. Staff was polite and efficient. Restaurant was clean. I love jims steakout. Drunk or sober I like their food a lot. Their poutine fries, chicken hoagie, stinger and chicken finger subs are some of my favorites. Honestly almost everything on their menu seems pretty appealing. But 2 times in one year I’ve had violent food poisoning from this location specifically. I think they don’t handle their meats properly at all. Their food tastes great but unfortunately for me I haven’t gone back bc I don’t want to get sick again. And looking at some of the reviews on here, I’m not the only one who’s experienced it.

Three words: Chicken. Finger. Subs. What is a Chicken Finger Sub? Why is it indigenous to Buffalo? Do people still call it «chicken fingers?» This is coming from the town that supposedly invented the Buffalo Wing(and popularized wings in general). I highly recommend the Stinger. It’s essentially a Philly Cheesesteak + Buffalo chicken fingers, Bleu Cheese, Lettuce/Tomato/Onion on a soft hoagie roll. It’s the perfect bite of meaty, tangy, soft, and chewy. Buffalo, you’re kind of strange but doing it right!

There’s only one eatery in Buffalo where I’ve had severe gastrointestinal stress every single time after eating there, and that’s Jim Steakout. Over the years I’ve eaten at Jim’s 6 or 7 times, and the aftermath has always been messy and regretful. I finally stopped saying«ok, THIS time it’s going to be good», and swore it off forever.

One of my favorite places to eat after going out or late eating and nothing is open! The fact that they close at 4am or late is GREATTTTTTTLOL. Good food even though the staff aren’t too clean.

I come to this Jim’s Steakout often. The staff is always fast, friendly and helpful! Almost every time i come in i make the staff help me pick something to order because i just cant ever make up my mind. My usual orders are a steak and cheese with a side of Jims sauce(you must try the sauce), a stinger that is a steak and cheese but with chicken fingers on it, or the hoagie with mushrooms in it(totally forgot the name). the prices are a bit high but for a place that is open till 5 am its great any time, drunk or hangover food i promise!

I have never had a problem here until tonight. They have always been my favorite store. I ordered the Philly light onions as always. Tonight it was saturated with grease and over done with sauce so when I got home it was so soggy it looked like it was dipped in a tub of water, I called and complained they made me a new 1. I get home with the sauce on the side and mayo on the side and guess what. Same problem. Only no sauce and mayo as it’s in the cups. This isn’t moisture from heat this is an abundance of grease and a complete lack of respect for the patron. To make it worse I found a black hair in my sub obviously done on purpose because I complained about the 1st1. Not my favorite store anymore I clearly need a new 1. Way to go a holes for purposely ruining my dinner, waiting 2 is a comedy not something you do on purpose I should beat some a$$ right now

Decent food, decent prices, fast service — OPENLATE! It’s not fine dining, but it works for what it is. Gets the full 5 stars for being one of the few sub shops that seems to understand«lite mayo»…

What is it about Buffalo? Living in Toronto, I feel like I receive red carpet treatment when I shop in Buffalo, and Jim’s SteakOut is a prime example. I wanted a deconstructed Philly Cheesesteak sammich to take back to Toronto for hubby. No problem says the clerk. Mushrooms and sweet peppers and extra whiz? Small extra cost, but sure! Stuffer banana peppers were awesome. Jim’s also adds a secret sauce which is a bit spicy, but hubs loved it. I was a hero for bringing back beer and a tasty Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Thanks for your help Jim’s!

UNBELIEVABLE. Best cheesesteak hoagie around. I got the Frenchy sub with sautéed onions and mushroom and it did not disappoint. We also got a side of poutine fries and they were out of this world. This place is worth every penny and should not be over looked

Just got done eating at this place and it was good, not great, but good. The sandwich was a chicken cheese steak. But then again we were pretty hungry…

Wanted to get real Buffalo wings and came across Jim’s Steakout! The 5 star reviews we read are accurate! We had a large group and ordered a variety of items from burgers to hoagies to wings. What’s even better is the wings are boneless! Overwhelmingly positive response from picky teenagers! «That was so good!» I keep hearing from the group. Well done Jim’s!

Awesome hoagie. I got The Jim’s Famous Steak Hoagie & added Whiz. Really tasty! My wife got the Philly Wrap with the sweet potato fries. Not very busy. It was great for a quick meal. Really kind of reminded me of being in Philly and getting a Philly cheesesteak. I would definitely recommend this place. Employees were nice, clean atmosphere. We got waters and it was $ 15 out the door. 2 thumbs up!

I was told I HAD to have a stinger and I HAD to get one here. I am happy to say I followed orders, this is a great tasting and unique sandwich for me. All I can say is, we NEED this in Denver because it’s gonna get expensive flying to Buffalo for lunch.

This review is part of a trifecta of Jim’s Steakout with three different locations — this review being the one on 3336 Sheridan. The other two are on Chippewa and Allen — of which we visited on June 6⁄14. Backstory: Last year(Jul/14) we planned a trip to the south and as normal we would stop and eat in Buffalo after the border crossing(~2hr driving) ahead of another 11−14hrs of driving. Instead of the usual«McDonalds on Young St in Tonawanda» I wanted something completely different. I discovered Jim’s and then based on reviews and proximity to our overall route I chose this location on Sheridan. We dined in. When planning our recent trip on Jun 6⁄14 after leaving the Walden Galleria, I ended up ordering a pizza in Amherst. I found a Walmart Supercentre(groceries) and found this Jim’s location. At that time I was merely hunting down a Jim’s but as I was driving toward the Walmart I said — «this place looks familiar … I think this is where we had Jim’s last year» … then out of no where — there it was. And yes, the same location. We did a takeout back to the Gulag(Canada). Pictures: As this is our more desired location and our first, I have uploaded a selection of pictures. Parking: This location sits on a strip mall with ample parking. Overall a medium sized establishment — full seating/bathroom. They did not appear to have signage on the sub of the week but when I asked they said they did and stated it was the Philly. I received the discount on the bill. The Order: We ordered two 12″ Philly Cheese on white; a 12″ Pulled Pork on white and a 12″ Jim’s Famous on white.(I was supposed to order a chicken and …) My wife’s initial thoughts were that the Famous/Philly’s definitely tasted a LOT better than the Allen location — that they season the meat a lot better. I concurred — a much better flavor. Also I noticed that, unlike the Allen location, these subs had the meat well spread across the entire sandwich. I am not 100% sure on the difference between the Jim’s famous and the Philly. It might be just the added Tomato and Lettuce(will update the review as required — I have a menu in the car; the website is poor). We did lean toward preferring the Jim’s but I still love the simplicity of the Philly. The Pulled Pork — sort of typical. The meat was drowned in a super sweet sauce which took away from what could have been a great sub. My 11yr who wanted that also disliked it as it was just too sweet. Won’t order that again. Value: Mucho amazing. We typically cut them in ¼ or 1/3s. I am in the 220LBs(in my mind 175LB) — and honestly 2/3rds are all I can eat — they are truly packed with delicious meat, cheese and onions. The price is $ 9.40 for a Philly. The amount of meat — it would probably cost $ 19.50 in the Gulag. Silly Wabbits: If your goal is to find a place that offers low fat/vegetarian friendly menu — these aren’t the subs you are looking for. Move along … move along. Payment: They took VISA. Hours: Not sure of the days or hours. I seem to recall open till the early hours like Allen but not 100%. Rewards: As stated in the Allen review — for frequent visitors they offer a rewards program. You can cash load it or just use it as a rewards. I received 34 pts based on our four sub order. ** Trifecta — So based on the three locations we visited, this was by far our favorite — and the existing Unilocal 5 Stars matches our opinion as well The flavor was better than the Allen location and no contest to the Chippewa establishment. Well played! Visited: Jul 10⁄13 and Jun 6⁄14. Will return hungry …

If your in the mood for some good eats after a night out… Jim’s Steak-Out is always a great place to go at 2AM. I personally would recommend the ‘El Diavlo’ if you like spicy stuff. Tastes even better after some beers and a night out with your buddies.

Come one now this place and for that matter any Jims steak out locations deserve some credit right off the bat. The staff at any location are some of the most friendly and tolerable people on the planet to deal with customers at all hours of the night after drinking. Lets face it Jim’s steak out is a «local» after drinking establishment to get that messy deliciousness we have all come to expect after a night at the bar. I would highly suggest you go into your local jims steak out and order the diavlo. This wonderful sub is composed of chopped steak, cheese, diced up onions and bananna peppers. After that is all mixed together they top it off with the delicious secret sauce. They always have been and always will be on the pricey side but well worth the money.
