Underwhelming, everything was just«okay». Ordered chicken fried rice, sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, and spring rolls. All decent and for a good price but nothing really stood out. Also, there was a piece of tape in my fried rice but I understand mistakes happen in kitchens so I won’t fly off the handle over it. Just added to the«meh”-ness that was our take out Chinese food experience.

Went there for dinner last night with four Chinese friends. They recommended this place for the dim sum they serve. Since I had never had dim sum before and felt it wouldn’t be enough food for me I recommended the dinner for five that they have on their menu. There certainly was enough food then! The food kept coming all night and it was great. We had soup egg rolls and 4 – 5 main dishes like sweet and sour chicken, cashew chicken, beef and broccoli all of which were so good. We also had jasmine tea and the soy milk was so good too. I highly recommend this place that’s tucked away across from Bonton on Delaware Avenue.

The chicken pan fried noodles and crab ragoon are amazing. We also ordered beef and vegetables and pork lo mein which were good. They give you the option to get combos with white or fried rice, which is nice

Wish they delivered. I think they used to. I love their Kung Pao Chicken, fried rice(the pork is my favorite). Very good egg rolls, and their Wonton soup is delish!!! Yes… if you’re picking up… ready in 15 minute.

Back second time but for dinner instant of Dim Sum. Order from the Traditional menu: braise beef, salt and pepper shrimp, fish with pickle cabbage, beef with snow pea. All very good Cantonese dishes, will definite cone back. Also wanted to try the drunken chicken but they were out of it… next time. The owner also gave us free dim sum: steamed custard bum and sesame ball… very nice. O.yes they also gave us pickle cabbage appetizer… Great customer services.

Very good dim sum. I tackled my search for dim sum in Buffalo with the help of Unilocal! My wife and I came during the evening, which is an unusual time to serve dim sum for most restaurants, but I was happy they did! The setting is not ritzy and more of a hole in a wall place. Coming from Houston, Texas, I’m used to places jammed-packed with people. Surprisingly, not very busy. The greeter was the owner I believe, very cordial and sat us down immediately. There was an Asian family dining nearby, which is usually a good sign. I ordered the spicy beef tripe, which end tasted great! The BBQ pork bun was good too. The shrimp rice roll was very good and flavorful! The steamed dumplings were good and the Shanghai dumplings were okay(was expecting a little more soup). Overall, I was pleased for getting my dim sum fix. Will definitely come back again!

We tried this place for the first time last night. We ordered two veggie egg rolls of the American Chinese menu, and then the eggplant in garlic sauce and the black pepper beef off their authentic menu. The eggplant was pretty good, and the beef was too. I was hungry, so I could have eaten about twice as much, but that isn’t to say they skimped on the portions, just that I was pretty hungry. The food was decent and they were even nice enough to give us a free pork egg roll. Sadly, I don’t eat pork and my Girlfriend has never cared for pork egg rolls. But the sentiment was very nice. I am giving it a tentative three for right now, but I want to try some more of their authentic menu before I decide my exact stance. I’d recommend trying it at the very least, though.

After a ten minute back-and-forth with my boyfriend on where to have lunch, we decided to just drive and go to the first Chinese restaurant we saw since we were both in the mood for some. I saw the logo and immediately pointed it out. I saw that they had dim sum serving during that time as well so that was a plus. Honestly I didn’t have very high expectations because I’ve had my share of mediocre Chinese food in the area. The lady greeted us and asked if we wanted the regular or dim sum menu. We went for dim sum. It’s a piece of paper with a list and you just mark the space before each item you want. We got steamed roast pork bun, pork dumpling, shrimp rice roll, braised beef, crab Rangoon, steamed custard bun, siu Mai, and seafood congee and the total came out to almost $ 40 which is kind of out of my casual out for lunch price range but it was well worth it. The braised beef is to die for and the seafood congee made me nostalgic. Everything else tasted amazing and the service was really good. The only real downside was that the other patrons kept staring at us and we weren’t sure why. As we were about the leave, the lady told us we had free crab rangoon and to wait for it as they were still preparing it for us. It was a lovely gesture and we’ll definitely be back.

I love this place. I haven’t tried the dim sum, but the food I’ve had from regular menu is the best around WNY!

Wanted to taste some Dim-Sum and found this place. Yes, it may not be at the same level as those in NYC or Boston. But we found the flavors authentic and food tasty. The dumplings and shrimp rice rolls were excellent. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

I finally was able to try one of the few dim sum joints in the western ny area. They were closed for such a long time. Driving by I saw the«open» sign was on. I then planned to order dim sum when I arrived home. The items I received pork dumplings, pork rice roll, eggplant roll and some others I can’t recall they were well seasoned and presented ok. They aren’t like the dim sum you’ll get in NYC but for up here they are acceptable. The place looks clean and the people seem very nice so I think I will attempt a second feasting. I will update on the matter.

This is my first Unilocal review. I was disappointed with what people wrote here because I really like this place. I’m here for my third time and I’m always pleased with most everything I try on the dim sum menu. I don’t eat meat and find plenty of choices to leave me full and happy. The prices are good and the people are nice.

Regular dim sum there, love their congee, fish congee, sea food congee and pork and egg congee, go with radish cakes and shrimp dumplings, very good combination. Pancakes are good too. From the menu sea food noodle soup is good.

It’s quite courageous to be the only restaurant in a non-Chinese town serving Dim Sum. It’s even more so when you consider the lack of fresh seafood, a hallmark of Dim Sum. The restaurant makes its dim sum from scratch, but unfortunately, has to substitute other meats and seafoods for traditional ones not available. As a result, the taste is not what you expect. The tea tastes as if there was soap residue left in the pot. The spring rolls filling tastes like fried dumpling filling. The chicken feet looked, but did not taste traditional. The shrimp in the Har Gow was not fresh. The shrimp Cheurn Fun was too soggy. All of the fried and deep-fried dishes were soaked in oil. To be honest, I would normally give a place like this a one star. However, keeping in mind the town and the clientele, I respect this place enough to give it two stars.

I can only review Peking Garden’s Dim Sum menu(available only on weekends) as I have NOT sampled any of their standard everyday offerings. That said, I have to also say that this place is sort of «hit or miss.» I’ve eaten here when they’re on their game, and it’s every bit as good as many of the Dim Sum parlors in New York, Toronto, Vancouver, and other major cities with thriving Chinatowns — though not as good as some of the top end ones. Their sticky rice in lotus leaf(sometimes called a «Chinese tamale») is actually BETTER than what I’ve had at more established places in NY and TO. Generally, their various dumplings are often good, and they even offer more exotic items to those with adventurous tastes. But I’ve also been here when the food quality has been not so good, even poor. This seems to happen more on Sunday rather than Saturday. I think it has to do with the fact that business seems to be slow, and perhaps this style of Chinese food is slow to catch on with Buffalonians and Western New Yorkers generally. Suffice it to say that Stanley from Cheektowaga prefers a good fish fry to chicken feet, congee, and taro/radish cake. I can respect that, and I don’t appreciate being lectured on what I should and shouldn’t sample, but it’s too bad more people don’t give this place a try. Again, when it’s good, it’s very good(maybe even closer to four stars). When it’s not… Well Stanley, I guess you’re vindicated.
