I have been to Ice and Olives numerous times for lunch. I love the fact that this place is half restaurant/half specialty food store. I absolutely LOVE the side where you can purchase groceries and have had so many unique and amazing food finds here-all things I wouldn’t have been able to find anywhere else in town. As for the restaurant side… I don’t care for the food. It’s pretty much like any coffee house food would be(sandwiches, pasta salad, potato chips, wraps, etc.). I have tried about 6 – 7 items off the menu and I can’t find any that I like well enough to eat a second time. The flavored iced tea is excellent though, so I will continue to pick one of those up after I shop on the grocery side when I continue to visit, but will probably buy my lunch elsewhere.

Have had coffee and espresso drinks here in a shop that combines a café with a gourmet grocery. They have free wifi, as well as a nice selection of baked goods. If you live in the 29th street area, definitely a worthy destination.

Ice & Olives was a spot brought to us by Unilocal when trying to figure out where to grab lunch on the drive from OK to the itty bitty corner of MO. Rather than stopping at a fast food restaurant, we went off the beaten path a little bit to find this deli & coffee shop named Ice & Olives. Because frankly, why call it Ice & Olives when it’s not a martini bar? Well, the reasoning has to do with that deli meats are packed in ice and served with olives, according to the cashier I asked. They serve Boar’s Head deli meats, much to the delight of my colleague, and delicious sandwiches, much to my own delight. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich, which comes with a mix of 3 cheeses and slathered in pesto and topped with tomatoes. O… m…g… that sandwich was so good! And definitely better than what I would’ve ordered at say, a Subway. The staff was also very friendly and nice. It is also a coffee shop if you want to a quiet place to work. Do note that their hours have been reduced. But either way, it’s a great place to get some grub!

What a great little quiet place to have lunch. I love their salads, and the staff is very friendly. Free wi fi is available as well. I don’t drink Coffee, but it seems to be a favorite for many other coffee drinkers.

Stopped by here on a lunch break and ordered a pastrami sandwich. Food was great and order was very fast. The bistro has a nice ambience — and opposite the bistro is a shop which sells the sandwich ingredients in bulk amongst other items. Service was great as well.

Kind hearted owner is genuinely interested in making this your best dining experience. Feedback from my review was kindly received and we will try again at a different time, maybe closer to pay day this time. :)

This is a coffee shop, too!!! I go here and enjoy looseleaf teas and get my work done in the afternoon. The wi-fi is always reliable. I avoid the deserts, because THEYAREJUSTTOOGOOD. They also offer an almost full menu, because they are connected to a specialty grocery store. They really offer all you could like, including some nice novelty kitchen and bar gifts. Today I’m going to have a bowl of Carrot Bisque soup, or maybe Roasted Pepper Gouda. Stop on in! They even do protein shakes! Stop in between baseball tournament games at SCABA(Shawnee County Amateur Baseball Association)! It’s right across the street!

This place is awesome. Great coffee and Friday night live music and desserts were top shelf. Great service. Ask the host what the special dessert is for the night.

My niece suggested trying the sandwiches at this deli. She was recently there for a wine & cheese tasting & reported that it looked appealing. At lunch we were just looking for something nearby. But this food was superb. John had the Prime Ribber, which comes on cibatta bread with horseradish cheese. It came with choice of side & John selected a tasty tomato bisque. I had a perfect turkey Cobb salad which came with a cup of spicy cold avocado soup. We both had tea, unsweetened, but mine was ginger peach, clear & balanced. We didn’t have room for anything sweet from their bakery case – but the mini– cinnamon rolls called to us. And I also brought home a chocolate chunk scone. They both look good enough to eat. You’ll have to look to find this place. It’s hidden in a little strip mall, but it’s worth the hunt. It’s a cozy place for specialty coffee & teas. We sat at an old round farm table, that reminded my husband of his youth.

Ice and Olives is as good as it gets for sandwiches in the destitute baron chain-land of South-East Topeka. I’ve been here at least three times for lunch dine-in and take-out. You can taste a real commitment to quality. Someone puts a lot of thought into what they sell at this gourmet store and I can taste that that same attention is put into the lunch menu. My favorite sandwich is the Ciabatta Hotta with the chipotle pasta salad on the side. They also sell mexican coke and other fine beverages. There is a coffee bar here too.
