B-Stand, while being semi-pricy, is a relaxed and exciting environment. It’s a great place to hang out, especially on the weekends. Their bar specials are frequent and their burgers are delicious. WU students receive half off on Mondays! They also feature karaōke on Saturday nights! I would recommend this joint to anyone who is looking to have some fun on a weekend.

Found this place just driving around in Topeka on a random Sat night. We didn’t have burgers but the fries and sauces were good. That parm garlic sauce was amazing! And they had 4 – 5 others too. Drinks were expensive, but basically a double so not quite that bad. Will stop in again sometime and get a burger. It was busy and by the college, so quite loud as well. Interesting vibe going on here. I did think the employee(s) weren’t too friendly though.

Excellent food, good portions, service was a little slow, but in the end worth it. Try the peanut sauce on the thai turkey burger. Cool little bar/restaurant/hang out spot in Topeka. Also the music was good.

Located in a nice little area, this bar offers some great burgers and fries! When we showed up around 11:45, there were very few people, so we leisurely perused the hanging menu and while suddenly the joint filled up with people and a line to order food was nearly out the door. To their credit, they moved through the orders quickly, so don’t let a big line deter you, but if you can show up 10 minutes before lunch peak, you’ll be in better shape. I ordered the American Kobe beef burger, medium with pickled red onions, truffle butter, tomato-aioli sauce and some greens. The burger is large and was cooked perfectly. The truffle and aioli were a good combination with the juicy beef and I can recommend it as highly flavorful and delicious version of the classic burger. I also had the truffle fries which are made up with the regular crunchy, salty, perfectly cooked fries tossed in another does of truffle butter with a nice serving of Parmesan cheese scattered on top. Amazing! Ok, I also had the poutine fries, again featuring the basic, but delectable, regular fries smothered and covered in white cheese curds and brown gravy. I can’t tell you how much I love poutne fries and these are remarkable. Finally, I had the duck fat fries. These are not your typical duck fat fries, but are instead the regular fries coated in a duck fat butter. They claim they have orange zest and herbs, but they were unnoticeable. Good taste, but not duck fries. We were a large group and ordered several other burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and everyone was pleased with the food and the multiple and inventive sauces available to tasty up anything you might order. Good food, good choice.

If I could write the truffle fries here a love sonnet, I probably would. Solid little burger joint in Topeka with a great atmosphere. The burgers I’ve had here are good, and so are the Chicago dogs. The place is a bit overpriced for what you get.

The Burger Stand in Lawrence has better food than at this location and not so sure why. Plus, the people who work here are not friendly, they have the dirty hipster look and snobby attitude whereas the one in Lawrence has the urban hipsters that come with fun, happy friendly attitudes. The one in Topeka are like soup nazis. I don’t get there often since they changed their truffle fries recipe. This place is only good for drinks, skip the overpriced overrated food.

Truffle fries with the garlic parm sauce are amazing and huge choice of beer. Be prepared for a loud college environment. Not for a quiet night out.

We were passing through Topeka and decided to stop by The Burger Stand for lunch based on the Unilocal reviews. We had trouble entering the restaurant… There are doors on three sides and only set of doors was open. When we entered, we weren’t sure if we were supposed to sit, wait to be seated or place our order. After we took a seat, I noticed the sign directing you to order and pick up your food at the other end. Nobody said anything until we found the sign on our own. I ordered a Black & Blue burger with a side of fries and a double chocolate oreo shake… If you’re going to a burger place, you have to have all of the fixings right? Our food came up in relatively short order. I thought the food was good, especially the apple chutney on my sandwich. I also enjoyed the condiments bar with such funky options as toasted marshmallow sauce… which by the way is surprisingly delicious on french fries. Both of our burgers were a overcooked relative to what we ordered, but they still tasted great. I was disappointed that I couldn’t really taste the blue cheese on mine. After our meal, I discovered that they have pool tables, ping pong tables and a pinball machine at the other end of the restaurant… the side that was closed when we originally tried to come in. I suppose they only open that side to the public when they are particularly busy, but it feels like a miss to me. My biggest stumbling point on recommending this place is the price… For the two of us, our lunch came to just under $ 40 before tip… And that was for two burgers, two fries and two shakes. For the cost of the burger, it feels like they should include the fries and then allow you to upgrade to the fancier ones if you’d like. If the price was a bit lower, it would definitely earn a fourth star and become a place that I would look forward to returning to.

One of the last vestiges of relaxed dining(and yes wining, I had the refreshing glasses of Malbec to prove it), the Burger Stand is proof that ye olde College Hill is far from dead and buried in the heart of mighty Topeka. Don’t come here on a diet… how could you? The fresh smells of burgers frying on the grill with a side of fries is what has made America great — this place is boss when it comes to pheromones from sizzling cow meat wafting throughout the place(which comes with pool tables and plenty of seating if you wanted to through a party, meet up with friends or tackle a small reunion — plenty of TV ensures you’ll catch the Jayhawks destroy their(petty) rivals such as the Wildpussies or other such area colleges(hard to guess where I went to school, huh?). Since it is in the heart of Ichabod territory I suppose you could find someone rooting for Washburn too, but the real heroes here are the fast order fry chefs serving up some of the best in organic Kansas raised beef and one of the tastiest orders of truffle fries I’ve had in a while. Note to those of you beer lovers passing through — this is indeed a cerveza loving bar with plenty of local breweries to chose from. Perhaps because of it’s location in the Midwest(think wheat, hops and what not), Midwestern breweries have a long and healthy tradition — and quite a head start on their east and west coast cousins in perfecting delicious draughts — and as mentioned, the wine bar with by the glass options is well thought out and refreshing indeed.

I love the falafel burger. But I’ve had almost all the vegetarian options and all are yum. They have a condiments bar with tons of fun stuff like jalapeño ranch, garlic aioli, and marshmallow mayo. Also, Mondays are half off food, which is magical.

My wife and I were in Topeka for some shopping and stopped in for lunch. It was a neat place and set up with two sides. One die more of a bar type atmosphere with beer pong, pool tables, etc. the food selection is creative and excellent! We each had one of their creative burgers with fries and a shake. I had the duck fat fries! Awesome! I had the fire burger and it was great. Cooked to medium perfectly, juicy, and seasoned well. The girl who made our shakes did a great job. These weren’t just generic shakes, they used real fresh toppings(strawberries), whipped cream, etc. the sauces they offer(at a serve your self station) were great! Garlic something, a toasted marshmallow and more! Will definitely go back!!!

I have been here before but this time I ordered the Black Bean burger and it was really awesome. It had spicy salsa/sauce and spinach on it, but it tasted fabulous with the jalapeño ranch sauce from the condiment table. Make sure you also grab a pickle from that table! They are the bomb. The one downside is that my dad and I ordered a side of sweet potato fries and they actually came with brown sugar on them… Not a fan. I prefer plain sweet potato fries with no added sugar. All they need is salt. I like the regular fries much better. This place is so good otherwise, that it is keeping the five stars despite the gross brown sugar fries.

The food is still on point and the service has improved. The sauce area is still a rolling disaster area. Not sure if this is the fault of the restaurant or the customers(stop being so messy people) but there needs something else going on here. I was embarrassed when I came here with a firearms business partner of mine and it was no concealed carry. Had to turn around and go to the automobile and find another place to eat. I guess we won’t be having meetings here.

It’s nice to have the infamous(in a good way) burgers from the Casbah/Burger Stand in Lawrence in Topeka now as well. They are always good when you crave a burger, and they have some veggie options as well. I always stick to my own creation… jalapeño, mayo, cheese, grilled onion. That is hard to beat. On my first visit here they cooked it perfectly. I shared a full basket of duck fat fries… which is delicious and more than enough for two peeps.

Just had a wonderful dinner at the Burger Stand. I ordered the black and blue burger with poutine fries. All delicious and cooked perfectly. The blue cheese and apple chutney gave the burger a really nice twang. Servings are generous. Order conservatively unless you plan to take home lots of leftovers. ETA: Try the various dipping sauces available! My own favorite was the house made jalapeño ranch.

This place is great! Great ambiance. Great staff. Oh… And the food is amazing. We tried four of the 6 fries… The poutine was our favorite, but that doesn’t mean the others were bad… Complete opposite. My only complaint(and I don’t think it’s TBJ’s fault): We were stopping through Topeka on a road trip… We were looking for a lively bar scene and it wasn’t happening. Maybe it’s just spring break, Topeka, or something else. If we are ever in the area again, we’ll most likely be back!
