I had heard about the Torrance antique shops and went to explore them today. I met Marilyn(shop owner) and found her friendly and extremely knowledgeable of her abundance of treasures. I was told by her that she has been open for 18 years and it is well worth the drive to check her place out. I found a cool pair of Parion figurines which I will proudly display at my place. Thanks Marilyn for my fun experience and I enjoyed your stories. Dean

They Have Vinyls! Oh Happy Day! I will get to that in One minute… I popped in there on a easy breezy Friday around 1130 and immediately I was drawn to a small display of vintage chunky necklaces and I picked up a beautiful teal one. The lady, Marilyn, was very polite and didn’t bug me while i browsed. I was in a zone and I was hell-bent on finding some great records! I went to the back of the shop past some cases of awesome antique turquoise jewelry and lo and behold– there were my Vinyls! The had about 6 crates to dig through and I found about 8 or so that could add to my collection at home. I got the shop’s card and after Marilyn efficiently rung up my transaction and gave me a hand-written receipt. I WILL be back soon to check out what they get in again in the way of Vinyls. I also picked up some sweet bangles 5 for $ 1

MEN! The antique attic is OUR secret spot. For less than $ 20, I was able to walk out with two vintage 1960’s tie clips and a pair of beautiful two-tone(black and silver) cufflinks. As a young man in his 20’s I’m digging the MADMEN look. Sharkskin suits are easy enough to come by elsewhere, but accessories can be a pain. What the Antique Attic lacks in Men’s clothes, it makes up for in Men’s accessories. There’s a lot of beautiful merchandise packed into this deceptively small store. It’s like 10 pounds of awesome in a 5 pound bag. I actually gave away a tie clip I had bought on eBay because the ones I picked up at the Antique Attic were of so much higher quality and impeccably well kept. The Antique Attic has a great selection of vintage ties, tie clips, cufflinks, pens, and wrist-watches for insanely low prices. I saw one of those vintage open-faced watches for $ 20, those are worth multiple times that. The whole store is priced like that. Honestly, you can tell how much love and attention is given to each item by the carefully hand-written price tag on each item, like a vintage store should be! No loud plastic price guns here. Ladies, for you Betty Drapers or Betty Pages out there there’s a LOT to choose from. Including TONS of pristine vintage compact mirrors and vintage hats, vintage hand bags and vintage clothes straight out of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. And most of it is overwhelmingly under-priced. And please, don’t ever mistake this gem of a store for the sterile«boutique» next door. The Antique Attic offers a wide selection of classic items to make yourself feel like you walked right out of Madison Avenue circa 1961.

Halloween list update: There was a really good selection of vintage hats here, along with some cool vintage men’s duds. There was also a decent selection of women’s vintage clothing.

I went here to get some ideas for my Halloween costume. I was hoping to find some vintage clothing here… there wasn’t much. But i DID find: jewelry($ 5 earrings!) & cuff links(in the shape of Buddhas and out houses. lol) Barbie dolls and scary googly-eyed dolls leather gloves. probably from the ‘60s($ 3/pair!) records(a VERY young-looking Elton John!) comic books pin up girl posters & photos figurines trolls! lamps & furniture an old stove that used to belong to some old-time movie star old magazines covered in plastic wigs way cool hats, many covered in feathers and sequins paper dolls sterling silver cigarette cases It was weird, I felt more American after browsing amongst the somewhat dusty but once-loved belongings of the Los Angelinos before me.
