Café City is one of the few walking distance from my work. So, when I want to get something close, I wander over here for lunch. The café is located inside the Citizen Business Bank on the first floor. They usually have daily special, which is what I typically get.(The daily special seems set for each day. So every Monday has the same daily special.) My favorite is the chicken curry on Thursday. The curry has a little spice to it, which makes it tasty. It also comes with a side and usually get the salad, which is greens with some dressing.(Sometimes the curry runs out, so make sure to get there before 12:30) When I am not interested in the daily special, I usually get the chicken pesto sandwich which is also pretty tasty. Everyone seems very nice and the service is usually pretty quick, even on days when it is really busy(rainy days seem to be the most busy). I always walk here so I do not know what the parking is like. But I do know that there are visitor spots in the parking lot, so for those you driving, you can park there.

Rae G. is the coolest Café queen, because she remembers what people want and her staff get food ready fast. Café City is a small breakfast and lunch place on the first floor of the Citizen Business Bank building. Most people are here to grab snacks and lunch to go during their busy work days. The place is usually packed during lunch hours but that won’t slow the flow of food to your hands. My favorite items: Chicken quesadilla Turkey panini with avocado Cobb salads Snacks and drinks: Muffins, cookies, fruits, packs of chips and nuts. Soft drinks, energy drinks, freshly brewed coffee. Other convenient items: Greeting cards A few common and over-the-counter meds There are specials everyday– usually a main item plus fruits or salad as side order. The special is always under $ 8. I’m the duchess so you know it’s my go-to place.

The only thing this place has it going is that its convenient for the people working at the buildings near Harbor Gateway. Though besides that I always dreaded going here, and the only reason I went here is because of convenience. I ordered their food on the menu and there were times they said that they don’t serve that any more or it is different. For example, granola cereal with fruit and vanilla yogurt was on their menu. I order that specifically but they give me blueberry yogurt. When I pointed it out they said that’s all they have and they never serve it on vanilla. My question is if they never serve it on vanilla why it is on the menu. Even café drinks, I think they make their green tea latte really well, so I ordered that once during their lunch hour rush. They said that can’t be made because only one person can make it and I have to switch it up. Then don’t put it on the bored that everyone can see it and order it at any time. I felt that the only way I can get the food for sure is to see what is in front of me and the special’s, besides that I know whatever they say the«have» it, is not true. You will need to ask before you order if they have it or have plenty of back up just in case they don’t have it –even though it is on their menu.

I eat here pretty frequently, about 3 times a week. They seem to understand that people have a limited time for lunch and are very accommodating in getting food out quickly. Pretty sure you can call your order in, too. You can also buy energy drinks here, all you caffeine junkies. Food has always tasted fresh and well-made. The owner and her staff treat their customers well, so I keep coming back. If you’re a big eater, you might need to order some extra items. A large sandwich by itself doesn’t always leave me full. Then again, I’m a fat ass who skips breakfast so most people would probably be satisfied. Fridays seem less crowded than other days which is nice.

So glad my coworker told me about this place. They are fast, friendly, and reasonably priced. I walked in once not realizing they had already closed, and they were still nice enough to make me a sandwich — very cool. The chicken pesto panini is great. It’s a little heavy on the pesto, but in a good way. If I’m not in the mood for pesto, I’ll usually get one of the specials for the day — that hasn’t failed me yet. I’ve had a variety of their sandwiches, salads and soups. Everything has been really good so far. If you’re in the area, this is a must try.

It’s good. It’s healthier than that other place closer to my work. It looks cleaner than that other place. It tastes better. Overall, it’s better. And Anna… she’s soooo nice! The register lady with the crazy nails — she cracks me up. Not her so-to-speak but her nails hahaha. Breakfast is my favorite! Those egg burritos are so good. Light and fluffy eggs… delightful! I can use my credit/debit cards and not be charged for it. Thanks Anna! For some reason, my co-worker and I think it’s kind of cool that she wears Tom Shoes hahahaha. I’ll be back for more of those eggs! I had to bump this place up a star. She thanked me for my review and geez, I’m a sucker for niceness. Also Anna, you should know that I’ve never been full from a salad before until I came here today.

For a food establishment in an office building, this place is REALLY good. I ordered a veggie panini with a side of pasta. They give you a variety of pasta choices to choose from. I had the bow tie pasta with ham, cheese, and other veggies. It was really good! The owner there is very nice. i do want to go there on a Tuesday to try their enchiladas… I will be back…

Full Disclosure: This is my mom’s café For very obvious reasons, I have not written a review on my own mom’s café… HOWEVER, I stopped by the other week to grab coffee and she packed me and my bf some leftover enchiladas from that day. ay dios mio! I honestly RARELY eat at her place because it’s too far for me to go to for lunch… and I don’t go to that area too often. And usually she runs out of her lunch specials so I haven’t tried the food that the other Unilocalers have talked about… but I am so glad that she packed me two enchilada plates. It was so good I called her to just to tell her how yummy it was and she told me that she and Armando, who works in the kitchen, shopped around FOREVER to find the beans they wanted to make the refried beans from scratch! Needless to say, I am very proud of what my mom has accomplished here the last two years! Fist pump to her and her team. BTW! I told her that if anyone goes in and mentions my name and this review to give them 10% off :) *she called back to brag about how they make everything in house. and yes, Brian… she is humorous :) and thank you for supporting the team there… I know first hand how much she appreciates your business.

Kogi shortrib taco lovers read below! Fellow Unilocaler(Hi Jennifer!) helped jogged my memory to review this Café. This Café is located downstairs of the Citizen Business Bank building. Free guest parking is available in front of the building entrance. Nancy(owner) serves up a kogi taco platter special only on Fridays. She has no doubt done her research(ie. Stood in line at the truck and tried one of theirs. lol) and improved it. Plate comes with 3 tacos and a side of potato-egg salad, a little on the hot side!(if you want it mild, better to call her up and special order it). The shortribs are marinated perfectly and served up in large portions; not skimpy! Being that this is in a business building, I’m guessing its served only at lunch. You can always call and confirm the hours and if the kogi special is on for that day.

I go here almost everyday for lunch or breakfast. They have the lunch combo specials and their wraps in wheat tortilla is so good. Very good texture to the tortilla and all the ingredients are always fresh. I love their side pasta of angel hair, basil and soft mozz cheese cubes(i think it’s mozzarella?) very delicious and i think about 5 pounds of added weight on me over the past few months is due to that angel hair side. The paninis are really good. I am all about texture and their although it is just a tad on the small side(relatively to me, as i am a big fat guy), the texture of the grilled bread and the melding cheeses and meats is very delectable. The lady owner and her husband are so sweet and very personable. When I am having a bad day at work I hop on over to go get some coffee or latte and just chat with her a bit and it makes my day. She is so humorous. Her café is on the lobby floor of the Citizens Business Bank building and mostly corporate employees patronize that café, but it is easily accessible from the outside by anyone in the public.

Having a delicious deli downstairs from work means two things: 1. You’re gonna get fat 2. You’re gonna go broke This delightful husband and wife team cannot be stopped! Their goat cheese paninis and mouthwatering provolone bagels are going to kill me. I’m ashamed to say that I have contributed to my death today.
