George Nakano Theatre

Excellent venue for a corporate holiday party. We were skeptical at first it being a civic center location and all but it turned out lots of fun. Be wary though, it’s a DIY kinda of place. You only rent the space, tables and mic (& accessories) but you have to supply your own food/​caterer and bar/​bartender.
We were given the lobby and main room for our party and it fit us perfectly. In the end we hosted about 120 people. The room is decorated with heavy black curtains all around which really helps in decorating because any color you add will pop. The black curtain also help it from looking like we had our annual school dance at the auditorium lol.
We were able to bring in our own basic Ipod/​speaker system to play Christmas music throughout our time. We were given a podium, microphone and riser to display our raffle prices. Definitely all helpful!
We were also given free reign to bring in our own drinks & bartender, so that was set up in the lobby. It all came together very nicely. We also brought in our own caterer and waitstaff which was a nice perk.
All in all, I wouldn’t dismiss this location if you are looking for a company or formal event. With a little bit of decorating and creating table arrangements you can make this place come to life.
