some items on the menu may not be available on certain days! For some reason they couldn’t cook fried rice or any noodle soups on a Saturday night! Cash only… no cards. Lue is a pretty friendly waitress from X’ian. She works the weekends

This is a one women show restaurant. She cook all the dishes by herself and she is in her sixty. Her Taiwanese food is the best in Southbay especially pork feet.

Great food. Large portions. Fantastic prices. Check out the dumplings in chili oil or the braised chicken. I’ll absolutely be back.

This little place is a bit of a hole-in-the-wall but I’ve found that you find some of the best food in places like this. I was not disappointed. I especially liked the wontons in chili oil. It had a sweet and spicy flavor that I really enjoyed. The braised pork rice and pig’s knuckle combo was good especially with the hard boiled egg in it. The meat was a bit salty but the rice and egg cut some of the saltiness. If you mix everything together you get the right blend of flavor.

I hungered something fierce for some Taiwanese food. Especially for some niu ro juan bing(beef pancake roll)…unfortunately they did not have this and I couldn’t locate any other Taiwanese restaurant near the area. Being deprived of something you’re craving is an entirely different type of heart break. Anyways, I digress… Ju Ju Shine is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant and it’s absolutely puny!!! They only have 9 tables soooo don’t expect them to accommodate a large party. Parking was also a bit difficult. Aside from some street parking, I have no idea where one would find parking. There didn’t seem to be much ventilation. On a cool evening, I found the confounds of Ju Ju Shine to be rather warm. It got increasingly warm when the food came out. Also, CASHONLY all!!! I didn’t know till the check came out! That whole ordeal ended being a pain in the butt. They really ought to or some signs up. Aaaaanyways, the food! Meat dumplings in chili oil 4⁄5 This is one of the items I enjoyed! It has a nice sour and slightly sweet thing going on. The menu has an image of a red chili pepper and the word«hot» right next to it but I only found it to have a slight kick. It could have probably used a bit more heat. Pig’s knuckle rice combo 3⁄5 The pigs knuckle itself was okay, nothing extraordinary. I found the dish to be slightly salty but it was balanced out with some rice. The knuckle was pretty massive. To be honest, the portion sizes for everything was on the larger side but none of them came close to the impression the knuckle gave me. On the other end, compared to the shear size of the knuckle, the amount of rice given was less than adequate. The rice had some pork bits and pork cracklings on top. The super duper crunchy and crispy cracklings was off the hooook!!! I could have definitely used more of that! Beef noodle soup 3⁄5 It’s not the best beef noodle soup I had but it did the job. Clean tasting broth with tender pieces of beef. The noodles were suuuuper thick though. This was neither bad or good. Ehhh nothing much to say about this. It was forgettable. Tofu dessert thingy ?/5 Unfortunate, I was unable to try this. The server three it out along with the rest of my beef noodle soup while I went to an atm to fetch some cash… fetch some cash… after I told him I was still going to work on the beef noodle soup. Such a darn shame. I’ll probably stick to some of the Taiwanese restaurants in Cerritos before work than come back. Meh

Food = 5 star Large wonton soup = super yums Greens = super yums Marinated mixed plate = super yums They ran out of oyster egg pancake… nooooooooo!!! Service = 2 star The one guy serving was sweet, pretty young, and super forgetful… it was ONLY my friend and I at one table, and one other family of 3 at another table –forgot hot tea(then supposedly they ran out of hot tea) –offered hot water, that never came –water cups empty for a bit and personally requested refill –asked about contents of each dish and he didn’t know So needless to say, we were helping him out, he was honest in voicing apologetically that he forgot, looks like grandma in the back brings in random kids to help her serve Will I go back if I’m in the area? Yup! YUMS

Can’t believe this place serves such affordable meals! :) it was hard to find & parking only available on the street or in the small lot next door. Almost missed the entrance! Ordered: 1) Hainan chicken $ 8 — the sauce is good, I had to ask for more sauce since they barely gave me any on my chicken. It comes with a bowl of seasoned rice and a bowl of carrot soup. Good portion size. 2) Oyster omelet $ 8 — took this to go and I’m sure it’s good especially if you love oysters! :) Wouldn’t mind coming back in the future to try the other Taiwanese dishes! Cash Only.

I tried the oyster omelette today, which is a traditional Taiwanese dish. The border is fried to a crispy texture, which is good. The sauce is flavorful but a bit too salty. I also found out that they have a very tiny parking lot in the back, but there’s virtually no sign indicating its existence.

Torrance is not known for great Chinese/Taiwanese food, but Ju Ju Shine definitely sets the bar high for AUTHENTIC Taiwanese food. The location is very unassuming, but it’s a very cute /comfortable restaurant, and it’s the type of place where the owner knows all the regulars and you feel like you’re eating at grandma’s. The staff is super friendly, and we even made friends with other customers… that’s just the type of vibe you get from this family-oriented restaurant. I recommend this place for anyone that does not want to venture out to the SGV! + BRAISEDMINCEDPORKOVERRICE. Also called«lu rou fan,» this was hands down my favorite dish. The ingredients used were authentic Taiwanese and there was a bit of crunch in it, which I loved. The egg also is flavorful and the sauce is amazing over the rice. Portions are pretty big for this dish! + PORKCHOPANDRICECOMBO. My go-to taiwanese dish is always fried pork chop and rice. The pork chop was fried perfectly… you’d be amazed at how many places in LA really mess this up. Comes with a mini braised minced pork over rice. I would’ve loved an egg with this dish, since that’s what i’m used to, but no complaints. This is probably one of the best pork chop and rice dishes I’ve had in LA(and i’ve had a lot). + FRIEDTOFU. Crisp exterior, very soft center, great sauce. What more can you ask for? Really liked it.

I am by no means an expert on Taiwanese cuisine, but I do get to eat it a lot, so I like to think I can have a good opinion of what is or isn’t good. Juju Shine has a good thing going. It is serving some pretty good Taiwanese food. We wanted to have some beef noodle soup, and this place serves it along with some other Taiwanese dishes. It’s a smaller menu, but still pretty substantial considering the size of the establishment. I think the owner was our server. She doesn’t speak much English, but she was very sweet and knew what we wanted to order based on the sophisticated point method. We ordered the beef noodle soup and oyster omelet to share. I had never tasted the oyster omelet before, but it was tasty. The texture is a little slimy/strange, but once you get past it, it’s nice! The beef noodle soup was really good. The beef was tender and she had the flat noodle that traditionally comes with it. Some places put other kinds of noodles, but I prefer the flat noodle. There are some ther great items on their menu that I’d like to try, so we will definitely be back for some popcorn chicken and the pig knuckle. We saw other people eating those and they looked awesome! They also offer a free dessert of almond custard. It was a great end to the meal. I didn’t really care for the complimentary tea, so I might order something to drink next time. In the end, it’s inexpensive, good-size portions, and good food. Do it.

This place is legit. I had the pig knuckle rice combo. It was HUGE meal. The pig knuckle was amazing, it was cooked so well that the meat falls right off, and the delicious collagen was so creamy. I also recommend the beef gravy rice, apparently it’s not on the menu anymore but sometimes they will still make it for us when we order it. The fried porkchop is also really good. They give you a small dessert in the end too. I think it’s cash only. We parked right outside on the street.
