My wife and I are semi-regulars at Mimi’s as is our Tuesday walking group. Tonight we decided to go out to dinner and went to Mimi’s with their normal BOGO coupon. When we arrived it was not busy and we were seated in a booth right away. The host was the same young man who is very polite and personable. We were given menus and told our server would be right with us. Well 8 to 10 minutes go by, no server, no water,. We saw a man working behind the counter doing something who we thought might be our server and he brought drinks to the booth two away from where we were sitting. He proceeded to carry on a fairly lengthy conversation with the foursome in the booth. He never looked our way and went to another booth farther down the row and proceeded to engage in another conversation with the people and then disappeared into the kitchen and then came out with a beer for that booth. My wife then went to the host and asked who our server was. The young man then came by and waited by the booth where the beer was being served and another conversation going on between the server and the occupants of the booth. Clearly this guy was our server and he never came over after 15 minutes of us just sitting there. We decided enough was enough and we got up, went to the front desk and asked what the name of our server was so we could add his name to our Unilocal review, well then the manager came out and wanted us to stay and to move to another section of the restaurant. We told him no, all we wanted was the name of the server, which he was not happy to give us but after many requests by us and pleas by him to stay, he relented and gave us the server’s name, ROMERO is his name. ROMERO needs training and the restaurant needs better supervision by the manager. The place was not busy and we couldn’t even get a glass of water or place an order after about 18 minutes. UNACCEPTABLE!!! We left and went to another restaurant that welcomed our business. Mimi’s in Torrance has many good servers but ROMERO is not one of them. We have no plans to return to Mimi’s after this fiasco. If I could give zero stars I would but one star is the lowest rating the system allows.

Never had problems with service before, usually amazing staff. Lately though, some have been rude and discriminatory. For example I was accidentally giving a lunch menu instead of a breakfast one, and once I told my waitress she laughed loudly snatched it and left, didn’t even bring me another menu or apologize. Etc etc

Family lunch, 7 people. Parking lot is not easy to deal with, more popular businesses than spaces to accommodate patrons. I got the steak frites(around $ 18.00). The fries were excellent, but the steak was extremely gristly, as in half of the steak was gristle and fat… I ate it, because I was frikkin starving and likely my wife would have pummeled me if I made an issue with the server. Generally speaking, have seen a decline in the food quality of Mimi’s lately, and this is making me not want to go there anymore. Used to love the place! Ambiance/Cleanliness-it’s a chain decorated in a faux French Château/bistro theme. It was«ok»…3 stars Service…the lady helping us was a sweetheart and did the best she could, but the restaurant was pretty much full to capacity on a Sunday lunchtime, and we ran out of beverages… had to go hunt her down twice…2 stars Food-it was on the spendy side of things, and just wasn’t that good…2 stars

This is a tough review to do because I was only here to celebrate my grandma’s 75th birthday. My grandma had a blast and she loved every moment of it so Mimi’s café gets a lot of credit for bringing my grandma a truly memorable experience. The real question is what rating is that experience worth. Let’s start with the negative– the food was 2 stars(3 stars at best). I’ve never tasted fettuccine Alfredo that was so liquidy that most people would confuse it for a soup. It was truly disgusting. The salmon with vegetables was no different. The salmon looks extremely dry it out as if it had been exposed to the open air and sitting for a day or two like beef jerky. Now the positive– The staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The insured that my grandma’s birthday was special and comfortable. That means a lot but it won’t get them more than three stars went take into account the food. The food was truly embarrassing. I’ve been to Mimi’s café before and I did not remember it being like that. Now I’m confident that unless I’m going to celebrate some big event I would never intentionally come here to eat.

Came here on a Saturday around 11:15. I get it, we had a group of 7. But I was told by one of the girls working the front that it would only be a 20 minute wait. 20 minutes come and go, and I went back inside to inquire how much longer. I had to stand at the podium and wait 5 minutes for one of the girls to even come back. I asked her about the wait, she told me another 25 minutes. Oh, so you lied to me then when you told me 20, you really meant 50? She just stuttered and offered no apology. We had to wait an hour to get seated. Another 10 minutes for anyone to come by our table and take our drink order. Another 10 minutes after that to get our food orders taken. And a whopping 45 minutes for our food to come. Eggs. Everyone ordered breakfast. And our food came out in 3 rounds. With minutes going by in between each food delivery. So by the time the food all arrived, other people’s food was cold. I’m sorry, but the mess at the front is unacceptable. The wait time for the food to come out is unacceptable. The food here is NOT worth the wait, or the incompetence you have to deal with.

Been coming to Mimi’s over 20 years but haven’t been back in a couple of years. Great good and service as usual. However, was charged extra $ 1.99 to substitute croissant for sourdough bread and another dollar to substitute soup for salad. Wasn’t our server’s fault so she still got a big tip. But management should reconsider all these upcharges. I usually take upcharges from tip but our server was so darn sweet.

My friend and I decided to try this spot last night. It was really refreshing to receive excellent service! Our server Mikio was knowledgable and very pleasant during our first experience here. He made tons of recommendations since it was our first time, and was able to answer all of our questions. He was so helpful, and not to mention good looking too;) We decided to try the avocado chicken sandwich! My friend and I split the cobb salad as well. The food was pretty good, but the service will have us returning! Thank you Mikio!

My sister, daughter and I had lunch here yesterday. The food was fantastic! I ordered a half French dip sandwich and bowl of French onion soup. My sister had the Quiche Lorraine and my daughter had the Tilamook Mac n’ Cheese from the kids menu. The café was clean, somewhat quiet(though busy!) and the atmosphere was pleasant. The restroom was very clean. That’s always a plus! Our server was Sureyya. Even though we were forewarned that she had many tables, one of them a very large group, she was still very fast and attentive to our needs. I appreciated her genuine hospitality and how she interacted with my young talkative daughter, despite how busy she was. I really enjoyed my meal. To be honest, I expected my French onion soup’s broth to be a little heartier, but don’t fault Mimi’s for that since I rarely find a French onion that satiates my taste. The French dip was good, the broth was good, and the best part — the horseradish was real horseradish in sour cream, not some nasty«sauce» concoction. My sister is a picky eater and she enjoyed her meal as well. My daughter is NOT picky at all and wolfed down her mac n’ cheese as lady-like as possible. I did taste it, and it was delicious! Cheesy and creamy, adults would dig it too. The bread basket served after we sat down was of course, delicious. It was warm, and I appreciate that I was given real butter,(not margarine) without having to ask for it. As always, I purchased some bran muffins to go as I left. Jamie got my muffin order ready with speed and friendliness. I am enjoying a muffin with my morning coffee as I write this review. It doesn’t disappoint! I am happy to say this was a FANTASTIC experience and I will definitely be returning soon.

I orderd the bacon, mushroom and brie omelet with a blueberry muffin and potatoes. The bacon was cooked perfect and flavorful. The mushrooms were sauteed well, but could have used some seasoning. The egg was cooked perfect and the brie cheese was savory. The potatoes were good and I really liked the muffin. Waitress was attentive. Overall breakfast was good.

The last time I came here, I was craving a good hearty breakfast. After looking at their many options, I chose to go with a straightforward option: omelette and breakfast potatoes. This platter was pretty good. It hit the spot but did not leave me feeling too sluggish. I guess that can be partly attributed to the four cups of coffee I had before getting my meal. With the coffee, I had a bit of milk(as I don’t like creamer). The staff was nice and attentive, and they seated us promptly in spite of how busy it was that day. I will keep this place in mind for future brunch dates.

This is my first time at the Mimi’s Café in Torrance. The atmosphere was just right, not awkward silence and not extremely loud. We had a bit of a wait when we got here but once seated, our server Carla was quick to grab our drinks and take our food order. We both ordered the same dish which was the corned beef hash Benedict and it was delicious. The hollandaise sauce tasted like melted butter which I have no problem with ATALL. The portion was just the right size and food came out at the perfect temperature. The only thing with this dish is that it does not come with the usual English muffin underneath. I did not mind but the server told me a lot of people get upset about that. I suggest that you could 1. Order an English muffin on the side if you would like to have it with the Benedict or 2. Make your side toast instead of the herb potatoes it comes with. I did French fries and ate with each bite as a substitute for the muffin. I also ordered the triple berry as well as a mango mimosa. They are both delicious and I recommend you try both! Overall, I like the big menu selection they have here at Mimi’s. You can order breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is a wide variety of options for each individual. Whether you want a light meal or heavy, or both! They will have something to your liking.

My baby and I went out for a light dinner tonight at Mimi’s. Their décor is traditionally dark and very much Parisian as you would expect and given the atrocity of what occurred this week, we felt it appropeau to patronize them this particular evening. We order a very simple meal, corn chowder bowls, a large garden salad with Vinagrette which was fresh and flavor and the peace di resistance: Their famous honey bran muffins with honey butter. They were warm, scrumptous and flavorful. Perfect for a fall evening like tonight as the weather if finally turning cooler and more festive. I wanted to give them a three and a half stars option but that’s not currently available. Additionally our server Chantrice was very pleasant, professional and honest. When we asked her if the fish dishes were wild caught, she was honest and said no. The fresh catches that come in that day are, but by the end of the day or as the week wears on they turn to farm fish as it keeps better, but as most of us know is not only unhealthy but their farming sources of food anything but ideal. She also gave us an extra honey bran muffin for free. We were sure to tip her extra well for her efforts and overall professionalism.

It keeps getting better. The food was perfect this time. Jamie is always a terrific server, ask for her even if there is a wait for her section She’s been there for years and knows what she’s doing and you will always get terrific service! Sometimes they allow you to call ahead and put your name down. We did that yesterday, called to check on the wait time and they said no wait but we can take your name! YESSS! walked right in and was seated!!!

Great service from server Jaime. Loved the white peach mimosas. Kitchen was not nice to our server Jamie. We wanted to try the Pumpkin Pancakes and the kitchen first sent buttermilk pancakes and then sent us pancakes that were not cooked all the way. They were runny and uncooked in the middle. Dear kitchen don’t treat your servers that way.

Went here for lunch a week or two ago, had to get my corn chowder(it never disappoints). If you haven’t been to a Mimi’s in awhile – some things they have changed – there is no longer slices of baguettes for you to eat with butter, they give you a mini version of a full sized baguette(it is so stinkin’ adorable) that you can eat with butter, and the carrot cake(I think) comes now in two madeleines instead of slices of cake. SO good, yes, I ate all of it. I got the spinach artichoke dip – yum yum, and we also did try an order of the chocolate crêpe cake – my only complaint was the crêpe tasted doughy and underdone, maybe it was in the fridge too long and just done too many days ahead of time – other than that, very pleased with my visit.

Came here with my Dad for dinner. It was good, but not great. Reminded me of a Coco’s or Marie Callendar’s. We ordered the Guac and chips. I really liked this, but it was too spicy for my Dad. I’m sure this was a fluke, but it was super spicy. My Dad ordered the meatloaf and loved it. I ordered the guac burger and wasn’t impressed. The brioche bun was toasted, so it made it really hard to bite into without making a mess. Plus, for $ 13, I expect the burger patty to be bigger. It was maybe a quarter pounder. All in all, I would only come back here if my Dad wanted to, and he was paying. Haha.

We’ve been to this location as well as many other MC’s over the years! Tonight however I had to write! It’s not a huge deal but very upsetting to me and that is the entries! One has to pay extra for soup or salad! First off, to me that’s absurd, 2ndly it was tiny! One more thing while I’m going on about this! When one asks for more butter, I couldn’t believe how small this truly was. No exaggeration it was maybe ¼ of a teaspoon at best, really!!! On the«flip» positive side, almost everything else! Sorry it just rubbed me the wrong way tonight & set me off.

This review is way, WAY, overdue. We are in this particular store alot. We,(the wifey, daughters and I), all love Mimi’s, albeit for different reasons. They love the Sunday brunches,(particularly the Mimosa’s), and I prefer the Happy Hour specials but the bottom line is… There is something for all of us regardless what day of the week or even what time of day we are visiting. Breakfast options are plentiful and I really love the honey bran muffins they offer. A veggie omelet and some fruit to go with that sweet little turd mover and I am in pig heaven!!! The happy hour and the appetizer menu is really good as well. $ 5 glasses of wine everyday,(for the ladies) and plenty of hop infested beverage optionss for me!!! I particularly like the«Seven Meatballs» appetizer. It’s topped with grated Parmesan cheese and served with a baguette that’s excellent for dipping into the awesomely flavored tomato sauce the little boogers are lathered in. It’s pretty much a meal in itself. So tender they almost melt in your mouth. We also like the Spinach Artichoke dip. Smothered in Kale and Parmesan cheese and served with warm, freshly made, tortilla chips. My most recent favorite is the Artichoke Fritas, little fried artichoke hearts served with a really yummy dipping sauce. Da Bomb!!! I’m a creature of habit so if we’re in for dinner, for me at least, it’s either the grilled salmon entrée(substituting the fries with a dinner salad), or the meatloaf, grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. The gravy they serve with the potatoes kicks major backside!!! I suppose my biggest,(and probably only), complaint is the virtually non-existent draft beer selection. If only they’d step up their game there… 5 stars would be there for the taking!

It was a last minute craving for french onion soup that brought us to Mimi’s. On the«corporate food scale» it was a decent bowl of soup albeit it tad too salty, but I gulped it down. We also ordered the baked brie. It was light enough for one not so hungry person, but I think if you had a good appetite you’d likely want another portion or something else. Brie was quite delicious… it served with sliced apples and a fantastic spicy Apple sauce. I would ask for a couple more crostini’s(it’s served with only two). We had a couple glasses of wine and were out of there for about 40 bucks with a healthy Christmas tip for the server. Can’t say it was gourmet or even amazing, but it filled our bellies and satisfied our wallet.
