So happy to finally have a good Vietnamese restaurant near me. I’ve been here several times(dine-in and takeaway) now and I have not been disappointed. The service is always friendly. The food delicious.

Super quick and mighty delicious! Their broth was a bit sweeter than I’ve had before.

I went in on a Sunday and it was soo busy. It was about 30 minutes before someone even took our order. Omg We were starrrvvingggg. I was set on giving them 2 stars if the food wasn’t good but lucky for them the food was delicious! I ordered the vegetable phở and added imitation crab and my husband got some type of beef brisket phở. Once our food actually came out and we took the first bite everything was okay lol. This was my first time trying this and it’s been on my mind all day. I will definitely be back.

I eat here once a week when I’m working. The service is a bit slow, but usually only minor corrections need to be made, and you just have to flag people down if you want… well…anything. Otherwise, the menu has a huge selection of all the classic Vietnamese dishes, including phở, bun, and rice plates. If you get anything with rice, be sure to get cracked rice because the texture is great. The vermicelli is the right texture, and both the grilled pork and grilled chicken are well-made and savory. The phở broth could be better, but it definitely hits the spot, especially with a side of extra rare steak. Phở Consommé wouldn’t survive in Garden Grove, but it’s a pleasant place to eat when I’m in walking distance. And considering how cold it’s been lately, it’s the perfect weather for phở!

I’m the kind of gal who will drive out of the way for some good bun rieu. So what do I do? Naturally, I get on Unilocal and the hunt is on. I decided to try this place today based its high Unilocal reviews and enticing photos. Unfortunately, I leave disappointed and the hunt remains for grade A bun rieu. Pros: –Price is fair. $ 6.95 for a small bun rieu &7.95 for large. –Parking. Lots of free parking in the parking lot. –Generous portion of the crab meat in bun rieu. Con: While the bun rieu had a good amount of crab meat, it was very dense and oily. Almost disgusting. It had an unknown overpowering taste, which made it unappetizing. It’s unfortunate but I definitely won’t be back for the bun rieu.

Great phở stop in the South Bay! Lots of parking and the seating area is spacious. Visited on a Monday, around 3:30 for an early dinner. Not busy at all. A handful of customers dining. Ordered spring rolls and their most popular dish, phở with brisket. The food came out right away. The spring rolls with a peanut sauce and the phở came out piping hot! Yum! The spring rolls were very good. Matched well with the peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was very peanuty, even though it didn’t have peanut bits in it. Phở was delicious! The broth wasn’t too rich in flavor, which is perfect to make it as tasty as you want. The brisket cooked nicely in the broth. This place is a must visit if you’re visiting the South Bay.

First time visit here, it’s solid 4-Stars! We ordered the shrimp spring rolls and the #7 rare steak and brisket. Soup base wasn’t as strong as other places I’ve visited, but nonetheless very good. Spring rolls were well presented and fresh. The dipping sauce didn’t have any nuts in it, but still good. The phở had plenty of noodles and meat. The sides of Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño and lime were a little scarce, but perfect for us 2. The menu is pretty expanded, but we just stuck with the OG phở. Will we be back? Phở sho!!!

When you first walk into this location you feel like you have just stepped back in to time during the medieval age where castles were normal sight to see. Curious as to why there was a castlesque décor within the restaurant the waiter said that the previous restaurant was a Cuban place. Besides the Medieval décor the Phở is the main highlight of any Vietnamese restaurant so it’s a must when you are trying to judge how good a Vietnamese restaurant is. The broth for the phở has a lot of flavor and is not watered down like most restaurants. The meat is good quality and not too chewy. Overall the execution of the phở is really well prepared and satisfies my phở cravings. The restaurants itself is clean and the service is fast. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is not really ever too packed so large groups is possible without a reservation.

I had high hope of this place b/c phở Consommé in Gardena is their parent place. However, I noticed they pour unnecessarily more MSG in their phở. MSG was noticeable even from the appearance and I tasted all over my lips and mouth. I just hope they reduce pouring MSG in their phở… In addition, serving too more than 10 mins after sitting. Just not acceptable in my book. They should have brought the menu and the water right away after sitting. Just didn’t feel all that good in over all average.

I grew up in the heart of all great Asian restuarants galore, the 626! Now that I’m no longer there, I was estatic to come across this Vietnamese spot and a very good one too! Looks like this will be our go-to spot for a quick and simple meal. It’s also quite convenient from where we live. Phở broth — tad on the sweeter side. Love the vermicelli. Our second visit, I had the seafood noodle soup with clear noodles. I like eating the clear(glass) noodles with the seafood soup. Tried a rice dish and it was delicious! Most of the time when I order the rice dish, it’s always the last dish that’s brought to the table, but not here. The shrimp cake was so crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside. The grilled pork was so flavorful. The man loves eating here. And so do I, when I need my Vietnamese food fix. I told the server we’re going to get on a first name bases soon. Cheers.

My family was visiting California & we left Redondo beach around 8pm. We were looking for a phở or ramen restaurant that was still open past 9pm, so we checked Unilocal to see what’s nearby. We came across this restaurant & decided to check it out based on their reviews(along with the Gardena location reviews). I ordered the dried vermicelli w/beef. It was tasty, but nothing extraordinary. The service was just okay. Not the greatest, but not the worst. The restaurant décor, however, was really cute(pretty fancy for a phở place) & it was super clean inside. The best part of the night: I decided to order avocado shake, and oh man… I’m soo glad that I did! It’s honestly the BEST avocado shake I’ve ever had. I don’t know if it’s the amount of avocados they put, or the cream that they use. But it was soooo good that my siblings decided to order one as well. It was perfectly sweetened, tasted like real avocados, and just the perfect amount of cream. It reminded me of Magnolia’s avocado ice cream(Filipino ice cream), but in the form of a shake. Everytime I go to a boba or shake place in Vegas, I’m looking for that exact taste like from Phở Consommé. Unfortunately, I still haven’t found it. I’d love to go back if I’m ever in the area again!

I just picked up food to go from this place tonight. I love their food. I have a 90 minute commute and love to grab their phở ga and fried rice to go. I am giving them a single star not because of the quality of their food, but their customer service. I just spent over $ 20 on a meal to go and $ 2.50 on a Thai iced tea. They refused to give me a full cup of tea. Mind you, it is already a super small cup and they won’t fill it more than 2/3rds full. I asked the gentleman that brought me the cup to please fill it up. He told me he wasn’t allowed to give me a full cup of tea. This isn’t quite an 8oz cup. I can’t believe whoever runs this place is so cheap, they will charge you through the nose and not even give you a full cup of tea. This is Torrance! I will find somewhere else to get phở and Thai iced tea. There are so many fabulous places around. (I’ve posted a pic of my partial cup of iced tea.)

I ordered take out from here because I wasn’t feeling well and usually chicken phở helps me feel better. When I got home there was chicken in my container of ingredients but my broth was not chicken broth, it was beef. This was really dissapointing. I am not sure if it was that they do not have chicken broth or that they just messed up my order. Either way, I wasn’t going to drive back at this point so I ate it and it was ok. I also ordered the spring rolls and was dissapointed that they only used ice berg lettuce, pork, and small pieces of shrimp as their fillers. Usually places have the spring salad mix, generous pieces of shrimp and yummy pork, this had none of these quality ingredients. The sauce was the best thing from this dish. Finally, I also ordered the thai tea with boba. The boba were hard; I’m not sure how long the had sat in the tea, but they were not fresh. The thai tea also did not taste like it’s supposed to. I think they did not use any creamer in it. Overall, I was just dissapointed in all my items. I probably won’t order from here again because I also spent over $ 15 to get mediocre food. The only plus is that I did get to see the inside of the restaurant when I picked up my food, it was indeed a castle!

Noooo!!! I was so excited to try this place, ultimately to be let down by mediocrity. You see, there are already two Vietnamese places on my street(Saigon Bistro and Blue Lotus); however, I love Vietnamese so much, and both are so mediocre, that I’ve been known to drive exorbitant(yet justifiable) distances for better food. This Phở Consommé – the second location after the fairly well-regarded one in Gardena – opened up as a beacon of phở hope, but it ended up being faux hope. As a plus, the food is cheap(under $ 7 for a small bowl of phở, which I found filling enough). As another plus, the garnishes are fresh and a-plenty, with the lime juicy and the basil leaves vibrantly green. The broth tastes fairly good, though I’m afraid to ask how much MSG they use. The noodles and meat are the main offenders here, which turn a potentially good bowl of phở into a mediocre one. The noodles are cheap and thin, and the meat is tough, generic, and not particularly plentiful. Verdict: Next time, I’m more likely to hop back in my car for phở than walk back here. And to mess with your senses even more, for some reason the entire interior is a recreation of a MEDIEVALBRITISHCASTLE, complete with stone towers, fairytale windows, and olde-style clocks. Ironically, I was actually heading out to a Shakespeare in the Park performance, so it all made sense to me. But otherwise – huh?

Delicious phở with reasonable prices! I came here with my husband for dinner. The first thing I noticed was the unique design. They have a castle theme going on inside… looks like it could have been a Medieval Times themed restaurant in the past. For appetizer, we got the Spring Rolls which came with shrimp, pork, and lettuce inside. It tasted pretty fresh and good, especially with the peanut sauce. My husband got the #1 Phở Dac Biet(special combo) and I got a small #7 Phở Tai Chin which is phở with rare steak and brisket. The broth was so good – clean, mild and hit the spot! I added some lime and sriracha to my broth which is what I usually do to my phở and it tasted even better. The beef was pretty good too. Gotta dip it in the hoisin/sriracha sauces! The noodles were a little too stuck together and hard to pull apart in the beginning, but overall, I really enjoyed my phở. The small is actually pretty big and I was super full after eating ¾ of it. Service: super fast and friendly! Parking: free in the plaza’s private lot. It’s located across the street from the Harbor-UCLA hospital. If I worked there, I would come here at least 1 – 2 times a week! Note: they also do take-out! I will definitely be back soon! :)

Solid food, good prices. I’ve dined in twice here and taken out a bunch of times. In the times I’ve dined in, they’ve been pretty slow with service despite barely having any business in the restaurant. The servers are probably family or friends of the owner with barely any experience as they just seem all over the place. In my most recent visit here, the waitress made it feel like we were such a burden to her. Her attitude just made me feel unwelcomed and took away from the experience. Slow on refills, forgot that I ordered a drink and then tried to make me drink it and purchase it while I was paying for my meal. Taking out I’ve had no problem whatsoever in the 10 or so times that I’ve ordered here. They’ve always had my food ready to go and fully packaged. All the phở, rice dishes, egg rolls, spring rolls and vermicelli bowls are all good. Nothing to complain about.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was a cute and sort of French decorated restaurant. The waiters and waitresses were very welcoming and greeted us. We immediately got iced waters(since they had it all filled already in a refrigerator). We ordered spring rolls for an appetizer, which came out in less than 5 minutes. It was really good! Then we ordered our main entrees, the large phở #1 and the bun rieu large. When the food came out, pretty quickly too, I was pretty amazed by the portions! It was so fillling, I actually didn’t finish mine and my friend almost didn’t haha(which he usually does). I really liked all the crab meat, shrimp, and noodles in my bun rieu. The soup was so tasty and it wasn’t salty at all. We would definitely come back for more!

Oh, Phở Consommé. I expected better. My brother-in-law raved about this place, so I’ve been meaning to try it. This took over the previous Cuban restaurant, which was also on my ‘to try’ list :( Anyway, this place is huge and clean. They didn’t bother to change the design of the previous restaurant, so it was kind of weird eating Vietnamese food in an Italian Tuscan themed restaurant. I had made reservations, so they sat as quickly when we arrived. Unfortunately, that was the only quickest thing they did that night. I’m not sure how long this restaurant has been opened or maybe they’re not used to big groups or maybe they had new servers, but service was slow. They brought our food at different times, which I don’t mind, but one side of the table was almost done before the other side of the table got theirs. There was plenty of staff walking around, but it was hard to get their attention for some reason. The food was sub par as well. Most of the food I tasted lacked taste and nothing really stood out. We ordered fried chicken and it was crunchy, but unfortunately, it had no taste. Everyone felt the same about their food as well.

Another Phở Consommé location besides the one in Gardena and Rowland Heights. I always wanted to come here at least once just to see how this place is. Its located right across the street from UCLA Med Center on Vermont not Carson St. Its easy to spot if youre driving on Vermont but definitely not from Carson St. I honestly did not need to come here since I live so close to the Gardena location but since many people were saying this place is better I just wanted to come and see it for myself. Well, from the outside and the inside, this place is definitely fancier and looks much more spacious. But I think the number of tables are similar. I got to see the servers I used to see at Gardena location before they handed it over to a new management. We went during lunch and this place was a lot more quiet and less people dining in. I ordered some rice dish because I hardly ever eat phở nor do I like phở and my boyfriend got himself a small bowl of phở tai. I pointed at the menu which I think it was #4. Short after he got his phở and first thing he said to me was it doesnt look like phở tai. He said it had different types of meat. But he just ate it and later when I got my rice dish, I told the server(not the one that took our order) if this is phở tai and he says this is #7. I told him we ordered #4 not #7 and he said do you want me to bring you another one and my boyfriend said its fine and he just ate. I find it really annoying when the servers dont take the order correctly. Also, I dont like it when they do not write it down on an order sheet and they just memorize in their head. Not only that, I think they should reread the order to confirm but all that wasnt done here and that is probably why we didnt get what we ordered. Other things that bothered me was all the servers were just sitting down by the entrance looking at their cell phones. They could have ‘act’ like theyre doing something productive and just walk around or whatever but they all just sat down or lean against the chair and busy looking on their smartphones. Food was OK. I honestly cant tell the difference from the Gardena location in my rice dish but boyfriend says the phở broth is different and he prefers other place over this place. It was kind of a long drive to get here and I am kind of glad I did because I would have never known. Though the service issue is growing hard at Gardena location, I think I prefer to eat there than here. Servers here need to be trained much more professionally.

«Hot and New!» When Unilocal lists a place as «hot and new,» I have to admit it, I get all giddy. It’s almost similar to the feeling I get when I see a new hello kitty item. ;). So just imagine, my giddiness when looking for a place for dinner and saw Phở Consommé listed as «hot and new.» I knew right away that I wanted to try it. This place is located at the Vermont Village Plaza and it’s location has been home to many previous eateries. A Cuban place was there, followed by a hot pot place and now this phở restaurant. Honestly I walked in, not knowing what to expect. The previous restaurant here was average to say the least. I was wondering if it was the same owners but this place looked to be totally different. I soon found out, that this is the third Phở Consommé restuarant. There is one in Gardena and another in Rowland Heights. Their menu is extensive. They have appetizers, salad, various noodle soups, various rice and noodles dishes and fondue. I was pleased to see they also have a vegetarian section! They also have various drinks including smoothies with boba. I ended up getting A2: Bi Cuon, shredded pork and vegetable rolls and the #58: Com Chien Consommé, house special fried rice with shrimp, chicken and beef. I was very impressed with their portion size! For $ 3.50, the Bi Cuon was a good deal! The two rolls are big and have lots of shredded pork inside. The Com Chien Consommé was a healthy portion as well and had a nice mix of shrimp, chicken and beef. This dish was $ 8.95 and enough for two meals. My only comment on this one was the chicken and beef were little overlooked and thus dry and little hard. It was still a pretty good version of fried rice though. Tastewise both dishes were distinct in flavor. Hearty and delicious, I was a happy, full foodie. My giddiness feeling at the«hot and new» Unilocal notification was not off because I was pretty satisfied with this place. I hope to try their phở soups next.
