Cakes Unlimited

Tara is doing cupcakes for my wedding in May. I no longer live in the area but heard such great things about her place and now she is delivering to us over an hour away! The cupcakes were that good and she was so attentive and accommodating.
Went in for a tasting and Tara was very good about giving us time to make a decision. It was a tough decision but we went with a raspberry swirl cupcake with raspberry filling and regular frosting (yes that’s a thing and it’s amazing and totally customizable). And for our second flavor: chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling & regular frosting. Both don’t need refrigeration which was a big bonus for us and partly why we chose what we did!
The cupcakes were flawless. They don’t have that «cake shop» taste (fake-​tasting fondant frosting, stale, etc.) they are soft and gooey and exactly what I would want for my guests. They taste like an amazing grandmother just baked them fresh from the oven… yummmmy!
Can’t wait to see how everything goes in May and I’ll be sure to update accordingly!

Cakes Unlimited did a fantastic job with our wedding cake! We opted for the budget option cake, which was a unique offer to build a three tier cake with only one real cake layer and provide sheet cakes on the side. It came out beautiful, it was a great value, and it tasted fantastic! We had compliments from many of our guests about how much they enjoyed the cake. Tara was very easy to work with and responsive on both the phone and over email and she provided delivery for an extra fee as well. My only suggestion would be to supply the floral for the cake, I would have paid more not to have to work that out on my own, but overall that did not take away from how happy we were with the results.

My best friend’s daughter was getting married and we were having a bridal shower for her at a winery in Litchfield CT. I offered to purchase the cake as my gift to the bride and was trying to find a bakery relatively close to the venue. I read some reviews on line and I called and spoke to Tara who was wonderful. I let her know when I needed it and expressed my ideas for the cake. We emailed some ideas back and forth and we came up with a great plan to incorporate the cake into the winery them along with the colors from the wedding.
We ordered a red velvet cake with cream cheese as a filling and buttercream on the outside of the cake so it could be decorated without the concern of heat causing the colors to blend together since the shower was in June. Red velvet cake can often be dry but this cake was moist. I have never seen such a tall 2 layer cake. Everyone at the shower loved the cake and gave rave reviews. I gave a very good rating and would have given an excellent rating but the cake was supposed to be delivered around 3:30pm but was not delivered until 3:50pm right before the shower started. I was trying to call the owner but kept receiving her voicemail. I just wished they would have let me know they were running late but overall this was a very good experience and the cake was delicious. I would definitely recommend them.

She did our wedding cake which was 4 tier and only the top layer and bottom tier were real. The middle was Styrofoam. It’s an awesome way to have a beautiful 4 tier cake on a tight wallet! I think ours was around $ 495 maybe for everything? Great job!

We got a cake for our son’s first birthday party, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. She decorated the cake to match our favors, provided a very large «smash cake» for his personal enjoyment, and the price was better then the dull sheet cakes from the grocery store.
