The ice cream always tastes fresh and delicious. The staff is very very friendly. The prices are always reasonable and you can always find a coupon. The appearance is always very clean. Ask for a small cone because it compares to a large cone from a Dairy Queen. If you’re looking for ice cream I recommend Carvel’s thank you !******

Top notch establishment. Great kids work there, and the owner acknowledges everyone on the line, smiles and is hospitable. The place is immaculate! Spotless! Best Carvel. I’m happy to have a Carvel that matches the service of the original Carvel’s in New York, I grew up with. Compliments to the owner!

Ridiculous location, great ice cream.
When in doubt, forget the crappy stale ice cream cake at the grocery store and venture down here.
By the way… cake batter ice cream? Fab.

Not a bad Carvel. Service is alright and the ice cream quality is consistent. The location is bizarre though, it’s like someone thought to themselves, «what is the most distant location from the action in Torrington? Where can I open my franchise that has no natural foot traffic or incentive to be near save for the purely instinctual need of ice cream?» And so, Carvel on the southside was born.
How they seem to thrive down there, is beyond me. But they definitely have an up on Dairy Queen, and it shows with the consistent business they get, even in the shadows of Torrington’s old mining rigs.
