Sonic Drive-In

I don’t eat fast food much but once in a while I crave Sonic’s tots! I parked and ate instead of going through the drive thru. The staff was friendly, but my disappointment was all the garbage in the grass. This was the first time I parked in over a year. The food was good for fast food — I got the boneless buffalo wings with tots. I recommend the strawberry vanilla Sprite! My father got chicken strips and French fries. He thought it was decent too for fast food quality. But our view was of garbage, rat traps and construction. huge disappointment.

Don’t know why the reviews were so poor, as Drive Thru speed was excellent, food hot and very good.

This Sonic sucks. No consistency.

I see a million sonic ads so when I went past today decided to pull in. I also remember when this place was impossible to get into, but no more. Came lunchtime on a Friday and there were 4 of us in the lot. Ordering went ok, food came in 10 minutes which was ok. This place feels like a dump though. Waitress was nice enough, but could tell she couldn’t give two craps about my order. Food was totally average. Chili dog was dripping and soft, buffalo wings a little too chewy and tots with no ketchup is just wrong.
Won’t be back.

This Sonic is horrible. I spoke to a manager who was pulled to the location because thered been so many problems, and apparently it still hasnt worked. 3 times in a row, my order was wrong. The first, i ordered a masterblast and got a shake with no straw or spoon or napkins… the second, i ordered a cookie dough masterblast again, and got a peanut butter banana blast… good thing i wasnt allergic to peanuts, or id be dead… and the 3^rd, my husband was supposed to come home with my cookie dough master blast i continue to go without due to Sonic not knowing what theyre doing, and he gives me a chocolate brownie shake. Im beyond pissed. This is the only Sonic somewhat near me (20 min away) and im officially never going back… the only thing that will get me back is when i call for my refund and have to go to pick it up. This staff needs to go, and they need people who know how to pull the right lever into the cup. Seriously. Avoid at all costs… even if someone has a gun to your head.

This is not the Sonic it once was. This location was ALWAYS busy and the service was always great. Now this place has the WORST service ever.
The orders take FOREVER to be prepared and the staff is just plain ghetto. There is not an ounce of enthusiasm and it’s as if they are bothered at the fact that they have to actually work.
The quality of the food is horrible but the drinks are still good. After about a 20 minute wait and a terrible stomach ache from the food, it wasn’t at all worth it.
Corporate should really consider hiring a whole new crew or just closing the place. Unless you have nothing to do and money to waste, don’t even bother going there.

Me and my girlfriend rolled in for hotdogs on Sunday. It wasn’t busy. I ordered two quater pound hotdogs a large coke and a medium shake and tater tots.
And we waited and waited and waited. Then waited and waited and waited. Then waited some more.
All the while other cars pulled in and got there food.
So after 45 minutes we left.
Corporate needs to really pay attention to these complains. The staff is awful. Nobody there gives a damn about the customers or doing their job.
I was stationed down south for years and Sonic was always awesome. None of the ones in New Jersey are any good but this one makes the on 17 north look great.

After 45 minutes of waiting for 3 ice creams, 2 drinks and one chili dog we left. I even put in a separate order for just a drink and that didn’t even come out.
We put in our order and waited 45 minutes until I finally knocked on the door and asked where our order was. We had to tell them over again what our order was and told us it was ready.
The guy rolling around told us «he was the only one delivering food» at the moment like it was supposed to explain everything. Even though that was a lie since we saw 2 other people bringing food out to other cars. Cars that came after we got there and recieved their food before we got ours, mind you.
So after the women told us our food was ready right now we sat at our table for another 10 minutes before we decided to leave. It wasn’t worth it. 45 minutes for ice cream at a fast food restaurant isn’t worth it.

I probably shouldn’t base my opinion of Sonic on this one location, but boy is this location bad. Every time I use the drive-​thru here it takes FOREVER. The person taking your order is rude, you get up to the window about 15 minutes later (what happened to FAST FOOD) and they couldn’t be more unfriendly. After the girl ran my card she was just staring at it for a awfully long time before handing it back to me. (Was she stealing my credit card number or what?) This place is just garbage. On top of the terrible service, the food is hit or miss if they can actually get your order right. Try a different Sonic if you are craving their food.

First time I came here, they forgot the cherry on top of my peanut butter and banana milkshake and charged us full price during happy hour. There was also an issue with the price of the corn dogs, but the manager rectified it by allowing us to have an extra corn dog instead of correcting the check to subtract 50 cents.
Second time I came, we went for half-​priced waffle cones. Wasn’t exactly a pretty presentation, but they didn’t skimp and it hit the spot.
Overall, the food was conventional, but the service seems off.

This place is not as awesome as it looks on commercials. Also, they dont skate to your car anymore.
I had a corndog and chili cheese tatertots. All I could taste was grease. My husband had the spicy chicken poppers — which he enjoyed.
Credit card didn’t work right when we ordered– and you have to suffer listening to every teenager with a license blast their crappy music.
Love the slushies– thats all I will order next time I go back!

Pretty rough. Let’s call this one a lapse in judgement. For a burger to not taste good (with bacon!!!) there is definitely a breakdown. The hotdogs also lacked flavor… need I say more.

We had to wait over a 45 minutes and they weren’t that busy! We pushed the button twice to find out what was happening and the server was rude as hell as if it was our fault. When the food finally came it was cold and rubbery. I was craving ice cream so I ordered the blast… All was good till I found a nasty hair in the ice cream made me want to gag. I will never go back there again. So frustrating because I usually love sonic

We visited this Sonic location multiple times. The first time we ended up leaving without being served. We pulled up to the personal drive-​in station, pushed the button, were told to ‘hold on’. 10 mins later a car pulls up next to us and they were immediately served. We took that as our cue to leave.
The second time we visited this location and followed previously mention steps but instead of waiting 10 mins, we sat there for about 4 and just went to the drive-​thru. That was success! We’ve been going straight to the drive-​thru and skipping the drive-​ins ever since.

I remembered years ago when this Sonic Drive-​In first opened. The line of cars going all the way back to the 46÷23÷80 juncture near Willowbrook Mall was a testament to how a little marketing and a touch of mystique can draw hundreds of people to a fast food chain to give it a try. Everyone was so excited at the prospect of a Sonic opening up so close that many people, including myself, fell to the trap of corporate scheming. They knew how to get my friends and I to come visit at all hours of the day AND night to get some chili cheese fries, Route 44 limeades and burger and dogs slathered with cheese. This place used to be the hangout for all the young kids in the area. But as time passed by this Sonic did not age gracefully. There is no longer a line that extends all the way to Willowbrook and the hours that the place is open is the same as fellow competitor’s hours.
It has been years since my last visit but the opportunity came one Sunday morning as I was driving by and craving some french toast sticks. Having been away from Sonic for this long nostalgia took over. I was excited to taste the greasy, heart-​clogging goodness once more. But all I got was a massive disappointment. I ordered the ultimate meat burrito with a side of tater tots and for good measure french toast sticks. The french toast, which I was craving, came out cold and soggy. The burrito fell apart as soon as I bit into it and the bacon inside tasted like salty cardboard. The tater tots were the only good thing about the meal. As the saying goes «time apart makes the heart grow fonder» but in this case time apart made me sadder. It’s such a shame that all that’s left of Sonic is my memory of it’s bygone days. Maybe that’s all I have to hold on to. I guess it’ll have to do.

So I’ve been here before and gotten food. This time I wanted a shake. I guess their crappy ads worked on me.
For those who have never been to a sonic there are three ways to order:
1) go to the drive thru
2) pull into one of the carhop spots, press the button where you order and a carhop will bring it out to you
3) park, go to the where the outdoor seats are and press the red button where the menu is displayed, order and someone will bring out your food
* note: you are expected to tip for options 2 & 3
It’s below average fast food. You can get different stuff than at a McDonald’s or Wendy’s but it’s blah. Usually I skip drive thru because there is almost always a long line of cars. However, the line this time didn’t seem too bad. That was a mistake as I waited in the drive thru about 10 minutes and it moved one car.
That should have sent a signal for me to leave, but due to the nice weather I really wanted a shake — plus it was after 9 and they were half price. So I decided to park and order at the outdoor table area. I pressed the button and ordered and waited and waited. After about 30 minutes a manager (I assume it was a manager because he wore a different color shirt) came out to deliver an order and asked what I ordered. I told him and he walked back in. About 5 minutes later my shake finally came out. A lot of sit down places will get you your appetizer, at least two rounds of drinks and entrée in that amount of time after placing your order.
There is either something wrong with their process or management because a bunch of high school kids don’t turn a fast food place into that by themselves.
So How was the shake? It was ok — not worth the full price. I did end up tipping the girl who brought out my shake — I guess I’m just too nice.

Easily the worst sonic I have ever been to. Literally all four times I have been here I have been burned, not in the physical sense. They have not had ice cream half the times I have came and the other two times they were not open regardless of the fact that all of the lights were on, cars were in lot and it said 24 hours. What a joke.

When this Sonic opened, the traffic backed out to the highway. I never chanced a visit, I hate waiting for fast food. When I finally stopped in, there was a lull in the traffic so service was fast.
I had the burger, fries and a cola since that should have been a snap for them to get right.

Burger dry and flavorless. Ordinary fries. The soda had way too much ice.
Disappointed and I have not gone back. I guess I should give them a second chance but their prices are a little higher than I’m used to.

Continues to disappoint. Today I order two #1 Sonic Cheeseburgers and both came with no cheese! When I complained and asked them to ‘remake’ the sandwiches they soon arrived back, same sandwiches, both now cold, and a slice of unmelted cheese. I come here once every 3 – 5 months and every time they screw something up.
Absolutely genius!

It’s 10:30 on a Saturday. Over a dozen cars in drive thru. Wait time about 6 – 7 mins.
Grilled chicken sandwich horrible. I couldn’t even swallow the first piece I bit. It was stale, tasteless, and rubbery.
Mozzarella sticks were impossible to eat. Tasteless and the cheese was not melted even a little bit.
I find it quite unlikely that I’ll be coming back to this Sonic (or any other)
