Don’t believe the hype! Very disappointed because I heard so many good things about this place. Their crab cakes are ok, I’ve had better. Had a friend who ordered the catfish and it was horrible. They automatically included gratuity on a 4 person party. I can understand if we had 6 or more people and gratuity was automatically added, but not for a table of FOURPEOPLE… seriously?! Anyway that is forgivable(being as though we would have given gratuity anyway), but their food is nothing to be overly excited about.

I’ve been a long time customer of Mo’s, since they started in Parkville and now since they have moved to Towson. Like all restaurants, they have dishes they are great and, and some which are so-so. Love their seafood bisque soup, dislike the cream of crab, for example. However, I am giving them 1 star, based on one fact. Their service is horrible. 3 bartenders and I get ignored for what look like regular customers. It takes forever to get a drink, much less a refill. I’ve also had the wrong dish brought out to me several times, and due to the long wait, I just eat what they bring. The other night this girl waits forever at the bar, to make a take out order, and the bartender. the same bartender taking those orders tells her she has to wait in the line at the end of the bar. And she had been waiting there longer. There’s no sign that says take out here either, so it was not the girl’s fault. I’ve also sat there and had them turn a game off to another channel, and when I and my friend asked them to put it back, the bartender just said sorry and walked away. I under stand if you bring in a large party and they add the tip. But if they ever do it to me for a single check, I’m not paying it. Let them call the police and ban me. Eventually the bad service will catch up to them.

Stumbled across this new-to-me location of Mo’s. Apparently, things are going well b/c the parking lot was packed at 5pm on a Sunday. We first entered the dining area(after guessing which door was the entrance), and was decided to sit on the patio, though it was a bit nippier than I’d prefer. Ambiance — The outdoor patio is pretty cool. Nice and clean and they’ve built the fencing high enough to hide the unpleasant sights surround the restaurant.(Beware if you can’t take cig smoke. A guy who was hanging far away from the tables puffing decided to take a slow walk along the patio, will irked Her sinuses) Speaking of awful smells, enter the(men’s) bathroom at your own risk. It was nasty for an establishment serving food. Very dive-bar-ish. Service — Well, a 17% tip is already included so… I don’t think the waitress meant to be slight below average, I’m sure she had to handle tables inside and outside, but, still. She order lemonade and I had a beer… which arrived 5 minutes apart. She order the fried shrimp I had the Salmon Imperial. The entrees came out about 3 minutes apart and the sides came about 5 mins later. Not sure if this is the kitchen’s fault or the server but, hey, she still got her 17%! Food — LARGE portions. As in, if you finish the the«small» Salmon Imperial, you should enter an eating contest or consider your life choices. It was very flavorful, fresh-tasting, and full of chunky shrimp, scallops, and crab. I got the loaded mashed potatoes as a side. When it finally arrived, I wondered if these sides were for sharing or for an individual. I came in a bowl in what seemed like a bucket. And it was COVERED in cheese and topped with full strips of bacon. Not bits — strips.(Bonus point in my eyes, but I couldn’t help but think about my arteries closing up. Overall, it was ok. I’ll be back. But next time, I’m bringing Tupperware, my own six-pack, and a personal port-a-potty(can’t be any worse than the bathroom there!).

Before I get to the food, I want to mention that I found it tacky to receive the bill and see that we were auto-grat’d. Not cool. This tells me that Mo’s doesn’t expect their servers to work for the customers but expects the customer to tip at least 17%, regardless of service. Fail. To start our dinner experience, we were seated quickly, given water and menus, then practically forgotten about. Once the waitress did take our order, everything else was very slow going. Including the moldy bread experience. Someone dropped off a basket of bread — could have been anyone because I just noticed it plopped onto the table by an arm that hurried away. I pulled out a warm roll that was covered in bluish mold spots! Ummm, WTF??? It wasn’t until the waitress brought our soup, about 10-minutes later, that I was able to show her and ask for a new basket. She actually tried to argue that the blue circles were not mold and it was normal!!! Finally she agreed to bring a new basket of bread. Which did not have mold. I started with the MD crab soup and it was really good. Not too salty, though also not spicy. Maybe I should have asked for Tabasco. No matter, it was tasty. My friend got the Cream of Crab. He really enjoyed it. I tasted it and found it a bit bland, but… I’m a Maryland girl and he’s from Europe. My crab cake was very tasty, yet FULL of shell. Seriously, every bite I pulled shell out of my mouth and created a mound of it on the plate. My friend didn’t have any shell in his so I’ll give Mo’s the benefit of doubt and assume my situation was a fluke. Prices are fair. I looked around the dining room and saw other tables’ food and everything looked absolutely mouthwatering. In the end, the service was pretty sad but the food quality was very good(except for my bizarre bread and shell experiences). So I will balance it out with a 3-star review for the time being. Even though I, personally didn’t have a fantastic experience, I will be back for sure to give Mo’s another shot because I think it is better than that. At least I hope so.

FYI-Mo’s has moved and changed their phone number. Still on Joppa Road, but more towards Towson. Service doesn’t seem to be that great, but food is still good.

Went to the new location… Décor — OK!!! Food –OK!!! Service — Awful!!! How was I charged an automatic 38% gratuity??? Because«some people» don’t tip,(whatever that means…)! There were 2 people in my party and I did not receive this notice anywhere prior to ordering!!! Absolutely unacceptable!!! Be Careful!!!

I go to Mo’s alot. I few months ago I rated it 5⁄5. Lately, the crabs have been already cooked and once were cold and not so great when we got them home. My boyfriend always orders the Shrimp Po Boy. He said he loves the spicy mayo but, now it seems they changed the bread and it is not as good. My last crab cake still tasted awesome but, had a good amount of shells. There was also a «dispute» with the cleanliness of the gentleman who serves the carryout in the back. A lady wanted a sample of the seafood salad. She decided she wanted more and he wanted to reuse the container she had her sample in. She freaked out and said you can’t do that. He said what I am using it for you nobody else. All in all, she was correct. You can’t reuse the container once it has already been given out. When you use the mutual serving spoon in a used dish. That really turned me off because the man seemed to have no idea why it was a problem. That means the staff is not properly trained on how to handle food. I will go back because the crabs are usually great… just not as much :(

The new location is ok. Its very loud and they need to correct their menu ASAP as the items on it are not available or misprinted. If you offer one free refill but the items their are not then the menu needs to be correct otherwise honor what is printed. Very bad business. Also needs a list of bar speciality drinks as there was nothing listed in menu or separate menu. We even left after waiting an hour and half with no food. Regardless if the kitchen staff being new or the location, it was a Sunday night and shouldn’t have been that difficult. The waitress tried but should have sent a manager over. The manager must have been really busy or something. Not interested in coming back every again until that is corrected.

If you want to get your clothes smelling like fried fish within 5 minutes, go ahead and have dinner here. The place has a greasy smell, greasy floor and just gave me the sensation of being dirty. Food is plentiful but as boring and uninspired as a one can imagine. I don’t care how reasonably priced it is. It is still depressing. I should’ve followed my inital instinct to turn my heels and get out of there, but because of all the«helpful» Unilocal recommendations I forced myself to give it a try. I should’ve followed my gut… Will NEVER step foot in it again.

Mo’s seafood has the best crabcake I have ever had. I have also been to their location downtown. The jumbo lump they use is on point and they crabcakes are the huge! This is where I tell everyone that visits baltimore to go eat.

Had the worst crab cake ever last Thursday, 6⁄23. My son and I had crabcakes in the bar that smelled like toilet water and were inedible. I will never return.

I’ve been looking for BMores best crab cake and I just found it at Mo’s. The imperial lump cake was amazingly satisfying. It contains crab, scallops, and shrimp. I can tell you that they are not over rated!

I loved this place… It was your typical seafood place with the fish nets and everything. Very clean and service was awesome. Their were alot of people dining when we were seated… Of course I got my favorite meal which was crab cake. Since that day I was on a budget I opted to get the cheaper version of the crab cake which was back fin which was very good. Beware of the Mo’s in the city I heard their kitchen was dirty and that comes from my friend who used to deliver to their stockroom. Go to this Mo’s!!!

Tucked in a shopping center in Parkville, this restaurant and market, serves you mammoth quantities of food at fair rates. Their delicious seafood platters will feed you for a few days and they offer affordable daily specials, soups, salads, chicken, steak, pasta and desserts. We headed here to celebrate my husband’s promotion and my induction in Kappa Delta Pi(International Honor Society in Education). We both started off with a cup of soup($ 2.99). I had the Cream of Crab soup: I never had a cream of crab soup that had this much crab in it– the pieces were huge! The flavor was average but the pieces of crab made up for the average flavor. My husband had the Maryland Crab Soup. He said it was very good but didn’t have large amounts of crab but overall flavor it was one of the better ones he has had. For dinner we both had one of the specials. I had the Seafood Jumbo Trio, which was a Jumbo Lump Crab cake, surrounded by shrimp and scallops in a lemon-garlic-butter sauce and served with 2 sides. I got he tossed salad with Pepper Parmesan dressing and French fries. Their French fries are very different then normal fries. They have a what seemed to be a crispy coating on them– not breaded but some sort of coating that was put on it before it was fried– they were some of the best fries! The broiled crab cake was huge with large amounts of crab. It was flavored perfectly and wasn’t too dry or too moist. I did however find a few pieces of shell in it. There was about 8 – 10 of each of the shrimp and scallops. The sauce on it was overly rich and was a nice constancy(not too thick or runny). It was way too much food and I brought home about my crab cake. My husband got the steak and cake special. He had a filet and the jumbo lump crab cake. The filet was a nice size however once he got past the outside portion of the meat it was way undercooked for his liking(he brought it home to reheat and cook some– He didn’t feel like sending it back). He said it didn’t have much seasoning on it but it was still good(he did add salt to it). He got a baked potato and coleslaw with it. He too also had leftovers to bring home. Both of our meals were around $ 28 and our entire bill with food, drinks, tip and taxes was $ 86(they added tip to the check before we had to pay). We both agreed the food for the most part was perfect and we would go back again!!!
