Great place to go. Got my state inspection done here, walk in drop my car there, and they drop me off to where I need to go next for free. Get everything done in the afternoon.

Went in for a walk in inspection (called 15 minutes before just to be sure) and they were great. Helped me out greatly. Will definitely go back.

Scott is extremely hard working and conscientious. He worked overtime to get our vehicle ready for us on the weekend and made sure everything was perfect.

I brought my car in for the Maryland State Inspection after getting a decent quote over the phone for $ 62 with a 1 – 2 hour time requirement. I had an 8am appointment on a weekday. First, there was no one in the office when I went in. I found a mechanic and he eventually got the receptionist to help me, after asking if I had an appointment. She did some paperwork and stated it would take at least 3 hours, which was not what we were quoted at all. On the paperwork she wrote it would be checked out by noon and said it would probably be done sooner. I went to get something out of my car and when I came back I couldn’t find her yet again. I told the mechanic I left the keys on the counter and left.
Here’s the problem, noon rolled around and no call. My husband ended up calling them and they couldn’t or wouldn’t give him a timeframe of when it would be done. The man on the phone kept saying he would call when it was done. So we are 4 hours past our appointment time at this point. Finally we went in to get it at 1:30p, still no call, because this was ridiculous. My car was done, sitting near the road with the window down. The receptionist was weird and unable to say if the car was done or if it passed or even make eye contact. She just said someone would come talk to us.
Finally one of the mechanics, I assume, came and explained that it was done but needed minor repairs to be able to pass. Repairs which they already did, without consulting us. And the amount for the inspection was not what we were quoted. We ended up just paying so we could be done with this shop. They made recommendations for other repairs that were unnecessary. We had just taken the car into another mechanic, one we wish did state inspections, that did not even discuss these recommended repairs.
The receptionist stated they would submit the Inspection via email later that day or tomorrow. After paying I asked for the keys, since she didn’t offer them to us, and she said she thinks they were in the car but if not come back and she will look for them. What?! They were in the car luckily.
The reviews all over the office are at least 5 years old, so maybe at one point they may have been a decent business.
Unprofessional, sketchy, and unable to even contact their customers that they claim to value. To top it all off they did not submit the State Inspection, wasting our time yet again as we went to the DMV to register the car. They had time to mail us a Thank You note but did not actually submit the paperwork we paid for. Needless to say, we will not be using them again.

Sarandos IS a great choice in automotive repair.
I took my boyfriends Honda civic, that had over 300k miles on it, to Sarandos to get a simple Maryland State Inspection. They told me that it would take possibly two hours, because they had a few cars in front of me and their garage/​lifts were basically filled. I didn’t mind waiting, but they kept asking me if I needed someone to pick me up and take me somewhere until the car was done. I honestly have NEVER had someone, operating a garage, ask me that. It was really nice.
When I entered into the lobby, I was greeted by a friendly mechanic and they assisted me very quickly.
Upon waiting for my boyfriends car to process the MSI, I noticed the many «positive reviews» printed out, laminated, and posted to the receptionist desk for waiting costumes to read. This is a great idea to do and the reviews were very heart-​felt.
Within no time my boyfriends car was up on the lift and getting the inspection!

Honest mechanics that perform excellent work. Scott and his staff don’t just fix the one broken problem, they diagnose your whole car and tell you what needs to be fixed. Of course, if you only want to fix the one thing, the that’s all the work they’re going to do.
Prices are competitive and they have excellent service. At Sarandos they try to rebuild parts or buy used parts to save $$ where they can. They are listed in the Car Talk list of preferred mechanics. I’ve been coming here for over four years and wouldn’t take my cars anywhere else.
The only reason I don’t give them 5 stars is because they usually take longer to complete repairs than estimated.

Very friendly and helpful. Understaffed though and make take awhile. Pricing is fair.
