This is a feel good store. The clothes are whimsical, reasonably priced, and very forgiving for less than ideal body shapes and sizes like mine. Best of all, the sales women are passionate about finding something that works; they are sensitive in expressing their opinion and finding the right size; and create a fun and upbeat atmosphere while shopping. You leave the store not only with cool, comfortable clothes sure to catch compliments, but also feeling the love from the sales women who have just become your new best friends!

I had always passed this shop but was never drawn in like a moth to a flame. Is it that the store is dimly lit?
The Bead carries unique purses, jewelry, scarves, pashminas, jackets, sweaters, skirts, dresses and jeans. The selection of apparel tends to lean towards knits and drapey rayons/​silks allowing for comfort. This is a great place for someone looking for something unique, it just wasn’t my style. If South Moon Under (across the way) offers clothing for the younger set, The Bead offers clothing to the parents of the South Moon Under children.
The sales associates are very friendly and helpful. One associate shared a neat trick to show me how to accessorize with a pashmina. They didn’t have quite what I was looking for but they were very helpful in finding some potential items.
