I had the blackened tilapia entrée and it was outstanding! Highly recommend this dish! Also, the live music tonight was sing-along perfect. Please keep this guy. Friendly and fast service.

Nice outdoor patio– but the drinks are weak and didn’t come as ordered. I ordered a martini«cold and up»(it came with ice in a low ball). When we tried to take advantage of Happy hour, they didn’t tell us it was 2 for one — delivered together… if we had know that we would have ordered one kind and split for 2. There are a lot of stairs. The bathroom needed help.

If I could give this place –5 stars I would, let me follow up with my experience at this place that occurred last night… I’m going to try and make this as brief as possible… Took a chance going here with a group of friends(ages 22 – 30) from the area on after pre gaming at Rec Room(nice place). It’s 12:15ish and there’s a line to the right that is long as hell and one to the left that supposedly is VIP(at the Greene Turtle? Since when?) but clearly it didn’t matter to them bc they were just letting people through not asking for anything but ID’s so hey, we’re gonna jump in that line too(duh, who wouldn’t). So the security guy lets the first 3 girls in my group in, no problem just asking for their ID. My fiancé and I step up and present our ID’s and now ALLOF A SUDDEN Mr. «Security» says«do you guys have a VIP card?» and we go «no, but you just let our friends in and didn’t ask them for anything…» before we could finish he snaps back«no you need a VIP card to get in this way so you need to go to the back of the line» The difference between my fiancé and me and my friends? My fiancé and I are black. Yup, racism is alive and well. Now I don’t believe in acting ratchet and supporting the stereotypes some other races have about black people so I calmly, yet firmly say«I’m not waiting in that line… it’s the Greene Turtle» followed by an eye roll, since its obvious what’s going on here. I begin to walk away and see a lady at the door who looks like a manager so I approach her and say«ma’am are you a manager here?» she looks at me with a winced look like I’m about to hit her in the face or something and responds«yes I am.» So I tell her how we came here with 3 other friends and they walked in through the VIP line with no problem but they wouldn’t let me and my fiancé through and with that terrified look on her face says to me «well you guys can just hop in line, it’s moving really fast» I respond«I understand that but why is it that you guys let them through without asking them for VIP cards and not us?» and she responds in a whiny voice«maybe they had VIP cards, I don’t know?!?» and left it at that… so we left. I’ve been blessed to say that I have never experienced any sort of discrimination before in my life so needless to say it was extremely frustrating bc we ended up leaving our friends there and ending our awesome night early. Pardon my language but it’s the Greene Turtle not the f***ing White House. Racist staff and incompetent management, would NEVER go there if it was the last restaurant on earth… go to Rec Room instead, it’s located a couple of doors up the street and you get treated like a HUMANBEING!

Stopped in last week on 2⁄29 for lunch. Service was slow but hey it was leap year and they had $.29 wings so I didn’t mind too much! My friend had a burger, he said it was good, don’t get the buffalo chicken sandwich, looks good on the menu but that’s all. Bartender was cool. Beer was cold. Place wasn’t real busy for lunch or at least that day.

Here we go –_– I forgot why I don’t come here and I remembered last night. I came here with my bestfriend to grab a few drinks and dinner. She took me upstairs to a nicer area. They also have a nice outdoor area for extra space; I also saw a dog, which was pretty cool. For my first drink I ordered«Peach Passion» which has peach schnapps and other ingredients. When I took my first sip, I thought to my self«WOW» this is watered down and he just made it right in front of me. I have a serious issue with wasting money on drinks. Especially if it’s more than $ 5.00, literally I could not taste any liquor. So I took an L with that one! Now on to the dinner, I ordered the«Maryland Crab Cake Sandwich» with chips which was pretty good, they give you a nice size crab cake with actual crab meat inside lol. My Bff ordered, «Chicken Tender Baskets» with fries and a Angry Orchard. She enjoyed it. At this time I decided to order another drink(Moscato) which was nice and chill. At 9pm they have a special two for 1 rail drinks and domestic beers. So we decided to try the tequila sunrise; once again we was disappointed. I mean really you can’t get a buzz here from drinking cocktails. Maybe you should just order beer. The bartenders was very friendly and accommodating :) Most likely I would only come here for the food but not for the drinks unless its beer or just not at all –_–

The food during restaurant hours are good. Place is usually clean and tidy. I occasionally come here to turn up around 12am on weekends. It is always packed with overly intoxicated college students and the view from their rooftop is pretty awesome. The staff is usually friendly and the music is usually on point. Only drawback is that their drinks are overpriced, so turn up elsewhere before you come here. P. s. Be careful walking down the stairs, no lie no lie no lie-e-lie-e-lie

ive been to many locations of green turtle but this is by far the worst. the dining area which is under construction and moved to the upper bar area is up a huge flight of stairs and no sign for the elevator which we found on our trip down. the service was meh, we were forgotten a long while for appetizers and drinks and were rushed to pay the bill by the staff because they said they had other plans. the food is very basic, nothing tastes spectacular, in fact its either got an odd aftertaste or its bland. drinks are watered down and all the dishes are just cheap interpretations of other places that are chains to eat at. it will take a lot for me to be impressed by a green turtle anytime soon.

Awful service. Sat on the roof with my roommate and the server took our drink order and never came back… After about 20 or so minutes passed she flagged down another server who took our order and said she’d let our original server know. The first server only came back to our table after our food was done and never apologized for neglecting us in the first place. The worst part was when I tried to use the Unilocal check-in offer. The server insisted on taking my phone to the back, despite it not having anything that she needed to scan or reference? She came back saying that it went away and her manager won’t accept it without verifying that it’s for the Towson location. This resulted in about fifteen minutes of her running back and forth relaying messages from her manager before I asked to speak to one. Some guy who never identified himself came over and when I explained the situation and showed him the offer he literally just grabbed my phone out of my hand and walked away! He didn’t even say a word to me, just walked away with my phone like it was his when he DIDNOTNEEDITFORANYTHING. They eventually took the money off for the offer but were not apologetic about the hassle at all, which was so immature and ridiculous to even begin with. The food was good but I have no desire to return. I knew I should’ve never tried it again after trying to go out one night and they denied my boyfriend entrance bc his ID «didn’t look like him»(he had literally only gotten a haircut)…

After debating about where I should spend my Football Sunday, my friend convinced me to head over to The Greene Turtle in Towson and boy was that a mistake. I encountered THERUDEST and most INCONSIDERATE«OWNER». Jill, the owner from hell, first assisted our bartender/waitress by bringing out our wings. When she asked«who ordered wings? We answered „We did“. Jill retreated our food in her hands and asked us to tell her what we ordered so she could be sure. A while after, I placed my bag on the seat next to me since the crowd was pretty small, not expecting it to interfere with anyone finding somewhere to sit. Jill came up and without my permission, lifted my bag and placed it on the dirty bar. I grabbed it, being that it was mine, and asked her to not think it was ok to move my property without my permission. She replied to me in a nasty tone „I’m moving it so someone can sit“. As I continued explaining, „This is MY bag and I should be the only one moving it“, she leaned in and replied,» Well This is NOTYOUR seat”. Disgusted by her unprofessional customer interaction, I left her establishment and have no intention of returning. I was a pleasant paying customer who did not deserve to be treated that way.

I’m a fan of the turtle but my most recent visit to this location warrants a bad review for a terrible experience. On Sunday we went for the Ravens game and the place wasn’t as packed as I expected. We waited about 10 minutes for a hostess to clear tables so we could be seated on the rooftop deck(plenty of seats and a few tables available). We were sat and given menus and then we waited again. And boy did we wait. Nobody acknowledged us and they looked sufficiently staffed. After 20 minutes I asked the bus boy for our server or the manager. Another ten minutes passed and we are finally greeted by our server. At this point we are extremely agitated because we have been sitting for 30 minutes waiting for service. We immediately placed our entire drink and food order. The server was pretty clueless about the game day specials!?! We ordered two buckets of(4) coronas which were $ 16 each. They also had some discounted burgers and flat breads for the«special». We ordered a variety of appetizers(3) and then waited again. And wait we did. 40 minutes later our appetizers arrived. The food was as good as you can expect from any green turtle but this might be the most disorganized cluster 4uck I’ve seen anywhere. It’s too bad that a cool spot is being ran into the ground. I suppose college kids don’t really care about service as long as they get cheap beer. Alas, I’m not sure I will ever recommend my friends to watch a game here. Btw I think they had some free appetizers(wings) for the game but we never got a chance to ask our waitress.

No one has high expectations for the green turtle, it’s another marginal bar amongst the marginal bars in Towson. However, when the green turtle renovated and put in the rooftop deck they absolutely distinguished themselves — or at least had the opportunity to do so. But in typical Green Turtle charm, they managed to mess it up too. The joy of a rooftop deck is being outside. If I wanted to be screaming over hideous live music, and I do mean screaming, I would stay inside. But no, they bring the loud ass, mediocre music straight to your outdoor escape. If there’s a way to mess up a beer and bar food al fresco on a beautiful day, they’ve mastered it. I’ve literally left hoarse after a few hours. And it’s not like they do it late for the club crowd. Oh no, they crank the misery before the sun has even set. I’ve tried putting up with the music three times but the last time I threw in the towel. Other tables around us also got up because the«band» is so loud. And bad. All that and the rooftop is so packed, you’re lucky if the waitresses attend to you within 20 minutes. Save your voice and above all, your ears, and find another outdoor bar.

I haven’t really eaten here. I usually just come for the drinks and bar atmosphere. They have really good socials specials daily. However I do suggest checking the times on those specials because they usually start in the evening. It’s just a typical bar to day the least sometimes you’ll get good service and drinks and sometimes not so much.

I ate here late at night on the rooftop deck. I ordered the fish tacos and a few sips. The fish taco originally came with a bed of greens and veggies. However, I asked them to replace the salad with a bed of fries. It was a great choice. The fries are super fresh and crispy. The fries are not oily, rather the fries have a crisp and crunchy outer layer. The fish tacos consist of a juicy grilled piece of fresh fish protein. The tacos are topped with fresh veggies including half sliced baby tomatoes. The dish comes with three good sized tacos. It’s a filling dish! As far as the service, it is great. The bartender actually gave me free drinks! That was very sweet of him. Parking can be a pain because there are limited spots in front of the restaurant. You are mostly likely to find a parking spot which you need to parallel park into. It took me a good 20 minutes to find parking.

It’s a good place to be– especially on the rooftop deck. That is, of course, if it isn’t closed for a private party or is completely full with rude college kids. I love getting the huge mason jar filled lemonade spiked with vodka!

With a packed house almost every day of the week, plus lots of music and three stories, plus outdoor area, it’s surprising this doesn’t get a better rating. We had a get together there for our apartment residents and had a great experience. Went another time with an old friend from out of town and also enjoyed the time we spent there and the food, but yes, it can take a while to be served, so make sure you like the person or people you’re with and don’t be starved when you get there.

Good bar food! Very good bar food! Strong ass drinks too– my wife can tip a few and one mojito gave her a stagger! Downside service was slow. Friendly– but slow! Also very noisy — just big open room, good luck conversing anyway but all caps! Crab dip had really yummy soft pretzel sticks, was very gooey and cheesy and full of Old Bay– hint of crab. For a bar version better than average– they always skimp on crab, but sweet crabby flavor was there. My wife has a really nice blackened shrimp salad– small shrimp, but lots, nicely cooked. I had good fried cod sandwich and hot crisp sweet potato fries. My son enjoyed his big ass Cowboy burger and fries were nice. Overall nice food! Good for a tasty bar food meal– but not a fast or quiet one!

Normally I’m not up in Towson, but I went with some friends who were in town for an alumni weekend. We went up to watch some football, get some lunch and drinks, and hang out. I’m not sure if they always have this on Sundays, but they were doing $ 10 for a fundraiser to raise money for helping hands and they gave you an awesome Ravens/Greene Turtle black t shirt, a free app, and a free beer. What a deal!!! You also got a raffle ticket to win a ravens jersey and if you guessed the score of the final game, you won $ 300. Not bad! Our waitress, Zay, was awesome! She was so helpful and very patient with our large table. I got my free app(chicken quesadilla) and it was very tasty. I don’t think anyone had any complaints about the food. One of the awesome things about this Greene Turtle as opposed to the Fells Point one is that they have a HUGE roof deck. We were able to watch the ravens win and be outside enjoying the sun! I’ll def recommend to my friends and I will be back! Cheers!

I’ve been to other Greene Turtle restaurants before but this was my first time at the new Towson location. Parking was a breeze on the street but the walk up to the top floor was not! Yikes! The restaurant was packed with Sunday football fans and we wanted a more quiet setting to eat lunch so we opted for a table downstairs as far away from the bar as possible. It was still pretty loud where we were seated but we knew on a Sunday during football season we wouldn’t be able to find anything better in the turtle. The food was quick and delicious and our server was super attentive and helpful!

I was a little apprehensive about coming here because it had 2.5 stars, but my advice to you is to take that with a grain of salt. It wasn’t really busy and service was great! I got the(4) fish tacos, which tasted really fresh and left me full. They were a little messy and dripped everywhere, but I loved it. The French fries are also delicious! Definitely worth a try.
