Casa Mendoza has the very best salsa I have ever had. I live in Manteca, and we have a bunch of Mexican Restaurants, and they are all good, but Casa Mendoza in Tracy has knock out killer salsa, and the food is also great.

Came here after seeing all the good reviews, I was so excited to try this place out after hearing all the good things, but this place was by far the worse service I have ever had and the food was just OK. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The hours are a bit odd but the food here is excellent. One of the best menudos in Tracy and I love their tacos. If you can get here when it’s open you can’t go wrong with the food or the service. Highly recommended!

Slow service, they got our orders all wrong, they didn’t have shredded beef, food was ok, nothing special. We are a Hispanic family, so granted I’m a little picky, plus we moved to tracy from San Diego, where Mexican food is awesome. Probably won’t come back.

I came down for a business trip a few months ago– my first visit to Tracy and didn’t know anyone here nor where to go eat. Unilocal directed me here. I came back 3 more times after that initial torta. OMG, everything was incredibly cooked and delicious. The pictures don’t lie. This place is a must go!

From a girl who was raised in a traditional Mexican household, believe me — this is the place to go. Haven’t tried all of their dishes, but the vibe in the place is so comforting, the restaurant is clean, the staff are kind, and the food is delicious. If they were open through dinner(I think it’s family owned so it makes sense that they close it early), I’d be there at least once a week for dinner. We are picky with our Mexican food because I know what real Mexican food tastes like. Go here, you’ll be glad you did.

We always come on the weekends for breakfast! They have homemade corn tortillas and they are great! The service is really slow and not attentive which is to bad because the food is amazing!

The BEST menudo ever. OMG !! Every time we visit the Bay Area we stop at Casa Mendoza on the way home. It is hard to find good menudo. This place nails it big time. The chef consistently puts out wonderful exquisite menudo. I am always on the hunt for perfect menudo. The menudo is loaded with tripe, hominy and pigs feet. The soup is a deep orange red color with perfect consistency. learned to make menudo from my dad. He made excellent menudo. I am a very discriminating menudo eater. Come here for a satisfying meal. You won’t regret it.

Really authentic Mexican. like stuff my mama makes… I love and reccomend the camarones a la diabla, shrimp cocktails and shredded beef sopes which they top with lettuce, picado and queso cotija and serve with a side of gauc and sour cream… my husband is all about the menudo which he’s tried all over tracy and says no one is better than Mendozas… my mom had their asada burrito which she raved about for weeks afterward. My favorite thing is the complementary chips with a side of fresh salsa and bean dip topped with queso cotija… the coffee reminds me of coffee with my dad in L.A. and the service is always stellar. With 2 flat screens on either end of the restaurant, we never miss a game or event. Every time we hit this place it’s like visiting with family, a really enjoyable experience.

This review is strictly for the breakfast burritos and their salsa — both are fantastic! I think the burritos are $ 5 and if you can finish a whole one I’d applaud you. So much food, but worth the extra calories. Tip: You can walk in and just order their salsa to go — something my family does regularly when we have a taco night.

I got called in to work today. So I had to take care of some business at the Tracy Depot . I was rolling my Work Whip Big Ken and I had a 53 Ft Box Trailer hooked up. I saw Casa Mendoza and decided to stop and grab a Super Burrito. So I parked Big Ken in Casa Mendoza’s super sized parking lot. I strolled into Café Mendoza and was Greeted and presented with a Menu. I perused the menu and ordered a Carne Asada Super Burrito with Sour Cream and Guacamole. To-Go Café Mendoza reminds me of a Old Diner or Truck Stop. The Servers are Attractive Latinas that are Friendly. They Close at 2PM7 days a week. My Burrito was done in 15 minutes . I paid by Discover Card and Rolled out. When I arrived at the Tracy Depot. I ate the Burrito and it was Yummy . I will eat at Café Mendoza when I am in the Area again.

Very mediocre food. Very poor service. Been sitting here for 15 minutes waiting for ketchup, but our waitress disappeared. My ice tea has no ice. I feel like we are being rushed out. Next time we will drive a little further to Banta Inn.

This place is really in the middle of nowhere, I always drive by this place and never stopped, but glad i did. Seems like if you want REAL Mexican food in Tracy, this is where its at not the other places in Tracy, they are garage. Got the chicken soup, had a whole chicken in it practically, and the Carnitas was very good.

HOURS of Operation as of late: Monday — Saturday: 6am — 2pm Sunday: 7am-2pm *** They DO take call in phone orders and you can either pay over the phone via your CC/ATM Debit or up front and close when you pick up your order. Having have called a town home for nearly 38 years, you sort of know every little nook and cranny in it… Tracy was that place for me as my parents moved us all there from San Jose at the age of two and yes my gynormous skull was the same size then as it it now; my poor mother; so I remember it back in the days before it was a commuter hub, home to a mall and more pizza joints than anything else… oh yeah… And the original Thrifty’s where you could get a triple scoop of their notorious ice cream for .55 cents… Awwwwww… The good ol’ days… For those of you who have lived there for oh, like ever or are familiar with the town from back in the day… This lil authentic Mexican food meets American food joint is located smack dab across the street from where the old Fisco Farm & Supply used to be, on the corners of 11th street & Chrisman Road, that has since become home to a furniture store and who knows what lies there now as I no longer live in Tracy… Something that may help in explaining the strange hours that this shop keeps is that Tracy is a primarily agricultural community: IE: They grow more food for both humans and animals than most for its small size hence the fact that this lil gem here feeds many of the men and women who work in that agricultural area and are up and moving before most us and our feet even hit the floor running in the morning… I know this as 90% + of my take out orders from here were all between the hours of 630 – 730 in the morning and as I entered the doors to pick up my carne asada super burrito and side of jalapenos and pickled super spicy carrots, the old school sit down diner style front counter area was covered in an assembly line of paper and plastic bags full of orders just waiting to be picked up by their orderers most of which are farm workers… SO enough history and onto the food: MYPOISON: Their Carne Asada«SUPER» Burrito, a side of their slammin butt burning pickled Jalapenos & Carrots, chased down with a x-large Diet fountain style Coke. The carne asada SUPER is a combo of tiny and medium sized pieces of asada, rice and beans, their flavorful home made salsa, lettuce, jalapenos if you request they put them in which I always do and a little bit of guacamole and sour cream all wrapped tightly in a HUGE flour tortilla… Unbelievably flavorful, filling and satisfying with half left over for the next meal! The size of this monster: HUGE! I can only eat half at a time of course after I smother it in my own sour cream that’s riding bitch as I either ate them at home or on the road and it just ain’t the same if it ain’t drowning in sour cream and extra salt. I can’t comment on the other menu items and their menu is as gynormous as the super burrito is and is a combo of American and Mexican as I’ve only eaten the super but if you love carne asada and are looking for one to satisfy that craving, you may want to give this one a shot. Final Grade: A ~ The End ;)~

This is just an update in regards to their operating hours. As of now, Casa Mendoza is now open until 8pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. My mom had caught wind that they were going to start being open for dinner again, so we all ventured out there and ate on Friday night. It looks like they’ve added some reasonably-priced appetizers to their menu as well. None of us tried any of the appetizers, but there were quite a few options that did sound tasty. My daughter had chicken nuggets, and it was some damn good quality chicken that they used. They gave her about 7 nuggets or so(along with fries) and it was only $ 3.25!!! I couldn’t believe that. For a group of 5, our bill was less than $ 40. Great food and great prices. I love this place! EDIT5÷7÷12 — This place has gotten rid of their weekend hours once again. They are no longer open for dinner on the weekends. I am an extremely sad panda.

I was told that this place had carne asada fries. They don’t. But the staff was so accommodating that they attempted to make them anyway. They asked me how I wanted it, but since I never ordered them before, I didn’t know what to tell them. So in the end, they gave me meat and fries for $ 4. and what a deal it was! The meat was so yummy, that I was glad that I didn’t order cheese and other toppings because it might have over powered the taste of the asada. Be sure to get here early. They close at 1pm everyday.
