I AMDONE!!! the last couple of times we went there, the food was just ok, this time we decided to go for the prime rib, salmon, shrimp special. first once again, it took them a long time to replace food items that were missing; but the main reason they won’t see me again is the filthy, horrible, dirty, and did i mention FILTHY!!! condition of the restaurant!!! the light fixtures and the wood etc over the food was just covered completely in dust! it looked as though it not been cleaned in days; i pointed it out to the manager, and she had an attitude and did not take care of the problem! she said she would notify the kitchen; lady YOU are the manager, you could not instruct someone to take care of this problem! REALLY! and not to make it a racial issue in regards to the prime rib; but here goes, the white dude in front of me got a nice BIG slice of prime rib cut by Luis, i a female person of color asked for 2 pieces, he proceeds to cut a very, very thin slice and when i reminded him i asked for 2 pieces, he proceeds to cut the thin slice in half!! WTF and shut the front door!!! i had to threaten to call the manager to get 2 pieces of still thin cut prime rib!!! i still can’t believe he did that. but mainly my rant is about the filthy condition of the restaurant and the complete non caring attitude of the manager. golden corral you have gone downhill in just a few years. what a horrible experience… stay away, stay far away!!!

Took my mom and aunt that were visiting from the bay. They enjoyed the food. It was pretty busy for a Saturday @ 11:30am. I love that they serve breakfast all day! My only gripe is that the other patrons don’t watch their kids and the employees didn’t say anything. The food was hot and good. Not a fan of the chocolate fountain, makes me 2nd guess what those kids were doing… Glad we went when we did. A group of 30 were on their way in! It was worth the $ 57 I paid for 5 people.

Not the best, not the worst. Kind of middle of the road. Okay if you want buffet. Food was decent but not great. Line was long, but moved quickly. Room was kind of warm. Small tables. Breakfast/Lunch time would be okay, not sure I’d go for dinner. I like HomeTown better, but this place was okay.

If I could do negative stars I would. This place is dirty, the dishes are dirty… and to top it off the food is nasty and just thrown together. Not sure how they stay in business. Both times that we have been there someone threw up on the floor. How can you eat at a place like that. We won’t be back… go at your own risk.

Had good service from 1 of the 4 employes covering my area, 2 did not acknowledge our party at all, the conversation they were having must have been very engaging. It was dirty, the table we sat at was wiped off but there was food on the seats… Like a lot of food on the seats. There was only what I hope was some dried gravy in the salt shaker, but this might be a deturant, to save costs, or salt shaker thefts, I don’t know what else on the table had potential poo on it, didn’t venture to inspect further. The turkey was good… Every thing else… Well I would choose quickie mart sushi over going here again. There was three of us, and we all agreed it was the worst food wise dinning experience any of us have had. I now live in fear of farting until this gastronomical misadventure pass through my system.

Went here back in November, don’t know why it was so hot in there. One half of the building was boiling hot while the other was freezing cold. I don’t usually go to Golden Corral but there were a lot of people and everytime I got up to get chicken there wasn’t any. :/It really sucked. So I waited for the steak. I remember years ago they would always have batches of chicken enough for everyone but I guess now they are cheap ass hell. Also the carrots were nasty spoiled, ruined my whole salad. It was an ok experience besides the annoying crowds and not enough food for everyone who was there.

It’s going to take a little more than free rolls from Jeff Foxworthy to get me to come back anytime soon. Eating at a buffet once in a while is fun as long as there are more good things than bad, which is hard to say about this place. Despite the decent selection of Italian, Mexican and American hot dishes, it’s just a big mess that isn’t kept clean as much as it should be. Not enough serving utensils, empty chaffers sitting too long, spilled food not cleaned right away, and a salad area that gives new meaning to «tossed salad». Desserts are kept at room temperature a bit too long and taste that way. The steaks though, are cooked to order, and can be done to anyone’s taste. Just don’t expect a porterhouse, it’s about a 5 – 6 ounce sirloin. Although reasonably priced it’s always crowded even during the off hours, perhaps because locations are limited. Just keep the expectations modest and be prepared to wait for the new tray of food to get served. At least it will be hot.

Okay so my boyfriend and I went here about a week or so ago and we drive from Oakland. It’s a long drive but we both never ate here before so we wanted to try it together. When we arrived it was a LONG line to pay. We got seated and the people around us was rude bumping into our chairs. The waiter we had was young and friendly my boyfriend actually tipped him :) Ok now about the food… I went straight to the steak mash potatoes spinach fried fish. Yum it was really good. Then when I got up(I forgot what it was now) but it wasn’t so tasty. The ROLLS were good tho I ate mine and his LOL. When I was getting the food I couldn’t help but to notice how fucking filthy the floors were it almost made me lose my appetite. I would come back my boyfriend said he wouldn’t he would actually prefer hometown over this. But it wasn’t so good and the price was kind of crazy. I should have went to jack London and got some chicken and waffles !! I wish it was closer then I may feel better about going again but wtf they need to do sum about how dirty it was up in there.

We arrived to a long line at the door. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. Its usually not this bad, buts its Sunday after church. The crowds are hugh. My aunt and I sat down and talked(about the people here too) LOL. We will be back, maybe not soon. But we will be back.

I don’t normally review places like Golden corral. It is what it is. So saying Golden Corral is sooo much better than Hometown has always been a given. This Golden Corral like others was hit and miss on the food as usual some stuff good other stuff… pass. The waitress and cashier were both friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff is hardworking. But none of that is why I am here. Pay attention general manager. Rudy…the young gentleman behind the grill. You are great. Your personality is fantastic. You went above and beyond to help anyone who got close to the grill. Even the little guy who could barely see over the counter. I am very impressed. Keep it up. Thank you.

First off, the guys cooking up the steaks and bbq did an amazing job tonight! Made the steaks cooked perfectly for my group. They both had a great attitude and gave great service! One of the reasons I would come back here. This places feels and tastes like an upgraded version of Hometown Buffet with more food and better prices. Weekday dinner came to around $ 12 something per adult. Fresh bbq and an assortment of other dishes. Definitely a big variety!

I should have known better, but oh well. Food was bland and gross. I got a really bad vibe in regards to food quality and cleanliness. Staff was really friendly and assertive. We could have come on a bad night, but I doubt I’ll be back.

Golden Corral runs laps around Hometown Buffet when it comes to choices, quality, and freshness. The only downer is that it’s about a 30 – 45 minute drive from Oakland! Definitely worth it, though. The sliders, salad bar, fresh yeast rolls, fried chicken, fried fish, hush puppies, cajun fries are all bomb! Minus one star because you can’t refill your own drinks, you have to wait for your«waitress» to bring it to you. Also, the waitresses/waiters can sometimes seem overwhelmed when this place is busy and take forever to come and check on us. Overall, for the price — it’s worth the drive and the wait. I’ll be back when I feel like being greedy! :)

Let us start with what I liked! The fudge was very good, most places they are not so good this one rocked. Some of the food was pretty good. And the lettuce was riddled with brown areas and wilted. I hate wilted lettuce. You cannot have a salad without the lettuce. I was disappointed that on Saturday they only serve steak after 4pm. But it is will worth the price if you stock up on steak… yummy! The wait staff was pretty good and the dining area looked clean and well stocked. The bathrooms were clean and not paper towels but hand dryers. My daughter who is a chocolate connoisseur, and she loved the chocolate fountain with the strawberries, marshmallows and rice crispy treats for dipping.

2÷19÷15 — For $ 12.24 what a bargain! I tell you the steak I had was like being at Texas Roadhouse. It was juicy & flavorful and cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed the jumbo shrimp. The food was just good. The service as far as getting your beverage refilled was extremely poor. I noticed those doing the food preparations were hard at work, everyone else were just standing around talking. Perhaps they need to hire better help. The restaurant was not overly crowded, but still you should not have to flag someone down just to get a refill. I had the best dessert, my favorite treat: Cotton Candy. That made my day! If it went for the terrible service, it would get 5 stars. I realize that it is a buffet nevertheless. Maybe they should have self-service.

Oh gosh the value of Golden Corral for stuffing yourself is unbeatable. Cheaper than Hometown with much more selection and better quality. And even though it doesn’t compare to Vegas buffets, it’s ten times cheaper so that’s a-okay with me. I also had no problem with the service. We continually got drinks refilled and friendly staff. We went two days in a row last weekend, we liked it so much. Oh god, my waistline though… My favorite dishes were of course, like many here, the banana pudding and the steak. I filled up mostly on that. The steak was cooked to perfection and the banana pudding just had so much flavor and delicious sweetness. It had little chunks of cake and banana in it as well, and topped with whipped cream and a nilla wafer — not just plain old pudding. I also enjoyed the nachos with the thick cheese sauce, an the very succulent meatloaf. The ribs were a downfall as they were cooked too hard to be edible in many parts. They had a good selection of ice cream too, we chose the oreo/cookies and cream. So good! And you can’t beat that chocolate fountain. I was just disappointed there were no strawberries to dip in it. Those are all the dishes I remember the best. So not bad for $ 12 a person at dinner time. And there were barely any lines when we got there too, both times. I think we might make it a monthly trip here, probably when I’m on binge mode during that special female week.

Okay– time for an update. Went today Sunday 11÷9÷14 when they opened at 8. Here’s what I have learned in my buffet travels. It is best to either get there when they first open or when they are making a transition from breakfast to lunch/dinner– why? No brainer– freshest/hottest selections and before the masses can make the place a gooey sticky gross mess. Anyway, here’s the rundown– breakfast is $ 8.69 and it includes coffee and juice. The coffee was good and hot! My boyfriend said the french toast was cold but had a good flavor– he didn’t care for the sausage patty BUT liked the sausage links, LOVED the biscuits, made to order omelet, ham and the cinnamon rolls. He said the gravy for the delicious biscuits was meh and would pass on the donuts. I liked the grapes, honeydew, strawberries, and pancakes w/sugar-free syrup and sliced banana. I also had the oatmeal which was very watery and I added raisins which was fine but it was cold as was my first two pancakes so I waited until hot pancakes were added to the bar and plopped them on top of the cold ones to heat them up– it did the trick. All in all, the restaurant was clean, dishes/silverware were stocked, food was replenished on the regular, the lady clearing dirty plates and refilling the coffee was friendly, and I would return if/when in the mood for a variety.
