What a gem this place is. I am used to the Adalberto’s style burrito which is essentially a burrito stuffed with meat. Taqueria Maguey stands out as a model of serving what burritos should be like. I ordered the burrito de pollo and a jamaica, one of my favorite aguas frescas. Salivating with anticipation at the foil wrapped gift in front of me, I carefully peeled open one side and delighted in the flicker of steam that meandered out. The burrito was fairly thick in diameter, hinting at the sumptuous feast awaiting me. I took a bite and was rewarded with a pleasant mix of beans, rice and chicken, all blended perfectly in the right proportion. I smothered each bite with salsa verde and voraciously devoured every last morsel. There is no doubt in my mind that I will visit Taqueria Maguey anytime I happen to be driving through Tracy, CA.

One of my favorite taquerias in town, they’re weekly deals are superb. Five dollar BOGO burrito Monday?! Are you serious?! Best deal in town.

$.75 tacos on Friday! Can’t beat this deal. On other days it’s only $ 1. Foods are made quick to order.

If you haven’t been here yet, please don’t. I’m not trying to be rude but this place SUCKSSSSSSS! I was expecting a taqueria with good burritos but OMG the food was horrible, I ordered the carne asada burrito with everything and it literally took over 20 minutes, what type of ish is that. Then when I was about to chow down on the burrito which looked mediocre, I realized that they hadn’t put any onions in my burrito, what a bummer. I got up and demanded a new burrito and the cashier said no, and I called for the manager and all he did was give me a little dish of chopped up onions. So disappointed in all of the taquerias in Tracy! Like I expected something A1 but what do they serve? Poop. That’s basically what they are serving, poop! All I’m going to say is that you should really not come here if u have ANY common sense. Thank you

Food is reasonably priced and delicious. The attitude of the young girl they had running register not so great. She just stared at us and wouldn’t even greet us… but since the food is so good I will be back!

OEMGEE! This place is on point! So good! I ordered a grilled chicken super burrito(cheese, sour cream, guac, rice, beans, pico) and I enjoyed every bite! THe beans were so flavorful and the meat was grilled just right. Not to mention they put a good amount of sour cream and cheese– not too much but enough to flow through the entire burrito. I lived it souch i came back the next day and ordered the same again! It is a really small place so it does get crowded fast– but the service was great and they had my food within 10 min despite the large crowd they had. Definetly worth the high reviews!

Went to the Fall Festival in Pleasanton and Javier of Taqueria Maguey served tacos. The pollo and carne asada were delicious and he even had a vegetarian option! It was a great little treat to have at the festival. I definitely need to stop by his restaurant in Tracy when I get the chance.

Food is good, especially the daily specials! The reason why I’m giving this place 2⁄5 stars is because of the little brat cashier(one with the glasses). Hella rude, bad customer service. Using the word«what» and«huh» in a rude way, wanted me to throw salsa at her face. ¡Olé!

Friend in Tracy told me they changed the flavor of their tacos. I had my usual carnitas and carne asada tacos at 75 cents a pop. And they were scrumptious plus their pico de gallo was still on point as usual!!! Slap yo mama tasty!!! Friendly staff and quick in service! I am a fan… Again! Great job guys!!!

Just moved here from San Diego area where we have such great Mexican food, so we are trying to find the best in Tracy. I found that very few have shredded beef tacos, and this place does. Eric was awesome, really a great server. Carlos the chef was willing to create a special request. They have a nice salsa bar and free chips. Good assortment of beer and Agua Fresca. Specials also with 75¢ tacos on Wednesday and Friday. We will be back!

This place has always been my family’s favorite Taqueria in the area… until recently. I’m not sure if they have a new cook, they’re under different ownership, or what the deal is, but the food is not the same. I haven’t seen the usual, middle aged man at the counter the past couple times we’ve been in, and he was ALWAYS there before. I haven’t seen their super specials posted on the counter anymore either, but on to the food. Their pollo asado used to be delicious grilled perfection, and they loaded their burritos up generously with it. The last time we went, there was very little meat in the burrito, and it was bland, gristly, and had a red sauce in it that wasn’t there before. Every dish we ordered in the past was always delicious, but the last two visits, every dish was disappointing. I hope the owners see this review, so they can bring their recipes and food back to what it used to be.

I stumbled on this Taqueria after getting a pedicure next door, and wow was I surprised! The place was super clean, the cashier and cook super friendly, and the food super amazing. I got the super burrito with carne asada and it was so, so good. It was made while I stood right there and the ingredients all looked so fresh and yummy. When I unwrapped the foil it was in it was like there was a surprising and yummy hint of crunch from being in a frier, but I know it wasn’t. I really liked the variety of salsas in the salsa bar, and with the little cups I could try them all to find just the one for me(I only wish there was one just a little hotter). The burrito was fairly large, and I got a small basket of chips as well, so for $ 5.50 + tax I basically had lunch and dinner. And a delicious lunch and dinner it was! I will probably never stumble upon a better restaurant, and the likelihood of getting back to Taqueria Maguey is probably zero, but I am sure glad I found it today.

The guy who works here is SO nice. He always gives my son extra goodies(horchata, guacamole.) and is genuinely friendly and upbeat regardless of how busy it is. I love their daily specials. Especially the 75 cent taco night! Their quesadillas are stuffed with meat, i love the asada, carnitas, and pastor. The rice and beans are yummy as well and my mama always gets the shrimp fajitas. My husband likes the wet burrito. The salsa bar is great too, especially the pico and green salsa. Try it out!

Came to this little place while just walking by, and I’m so glad I did . The tongue tacos was delish … Although when I went to buy some more they said they ran out, which left my stomach craving for more I will definitely go here again when in town

I started coming here because I got a Kimball Athletics saver card with a pretty sweet deal on combo meals. I have been here twice and after trying a couple of dishes… I am not really a fan. The owners and workers are all very friendly. They have good specials going on throughout the week and they make decent dishes. While their food is not my favorite, I feel that it’s more of a style preference rather than it being ‘bad’. A lot of people seem to really love the food here. The restaurant is clean every time I come but I hate that there are no trash cans around. They clean the tables after you leave but I like to be able to throw something away if I need to. Kids can be messy ya know! You get free chips when you purchase $ 3.00 or more… which covers just about everyone. The chips are cold even under a heat lamp so I don’t think they are made in house which is a bummer. Anyway, still a solid taqueria and worth a try.
