I have been in Best Buy the last 2 days with my computer and was waited on immediately by Nathan who was very helpful. He was friendly and you can tell that he enjoys his job. He walked me through what I needed to do to fix my computer problem. I am a big fan of his!

Went to pickup a GPS unit and ink for our HP printer. Half the price tags are missing throughout the store. HP rep in-store couldn’t tell us what ink we needed for our printer nor did they have their standard booklet to tell you. I was instructed to look it up myself on Google. I just had to laugh at the guy. Telling a customer to look it up themselves is a crappy answer from an employee. The store also had no staff to be found for help finding items and had one person to check out everyone. No customer service. This is why Amazon will put you out of business.

There are a lot of great items in the store but the staff is not very helpful. I bought a warranty on my iPad to where I was supposed to be able to just bring it in to the store and they would fix or replace anything. When my iPad broke, I brought it to the store and was informed they don’t take care of warranty items and the gave me a number to call and the company took 2 weeks to replace it and wanted to put a $ 200.00 hold on my credit card. I don’t think they should be able to change policies midway through my warranty. There have been many bad experiences there.

I wish I had this saleslady’s name bc she was excellent. She was walking by and I asked for something and she said, this is not my area so I don’t know but i will immediately get someone for you. she was so sincere about it too. i said, no don’t worry about it but she was insistent on helping me. so nice.

I use Best Buy all the time for my electronics purchases. The staff is always super friendly and most of the time they all seem to know a great deal of information on the products they are selling. Not always the cheapest place in town but always the best in quality. Best Buy has the best and most reliable warranty offer in town. Other places might offer a little cheaper warranties, however they don’t deal so well when it come time to live up to the return or exchange part. Best Buy also has a large selection of products and if it’s not in the store they will order it right away and get it in quick. They will also do midnight openings for major products.

I’ve always been under the assumption that Unilocal reviews were reserved for describing and critiquing customer service, management and follow-up. In my never-to-be-humble opinion, when reviewing a national chain, prices should not be key in a review; it’s not as though the employees have anything to do with that! Best Buy is not the cheapest place but in saying that — if you want a better price and zero human contact — order online! I’ve always been treated very well when going to Best Buy. Everyone is always very helpful and funny. You can tell they enjoy their jobs and get along with each other. It is always apparent when employees have enjoyable working conditions. Shout out to all the people there — from one customer service rep to another — keep up the spirits and good attitudes!

Gosh, I wish I knew someone here so I could get a discount. Oh well, it’s hard to be surrounded by all the shiny technology and not sense your bank accounts slowly draining. Our home finally entered the 21st century recently and upgraded to dsl from the evil dial-up. I decided we might as well go nuts and go wireless too. So, I wish I had known before I bought that there were different strengths of wi-fi(oops, my bad), but since we just have a home connection it did not need to be super strong(just 54 mbps). If you are looking for a wireless router, or a handy-dandy wireless usb, they can both be found at Best Buy. Sure, it’ll be expensive but it’s worth it and that’s pretty much the nature of the beast w/technogadgetry. Be sure to get the 2 yr warranty/guarantee on the products just in case, plus it’s only 9.99 per product(in my case). They can be a bit pushy about wanting you to buy a package where the Geek Squad to come out to your house and install it for you, and if you are more comfortable with that go ahead & do it, but you can do it yourself, it is possible.

Best Buy, in general, should be called«Worst Buy». The reason the products are cheaper is that the items often don’t work out of the box. The Geek Squad are a joke. I never plan to frequent this store again. Even the corporate help desk was amazed at how innept the local Best Buy Geek Squad was. I got my laptop fixed locally easily when Geek Squad had no clue.

Let my start by saying that I *hate* corporate America, and if I never had to set foot in this store again I wouldn’t have a problem with that. I mean, as Sara said, you really can find anything they offer cheaper somewhere else, even if it is the internet. Obviously the great thing about shopping here is the instant gratification(i.e. being able to walk out the door with your purchase, rather than wait for it to be delivered) but still. Come on now. Also, Traverse City doesn’t offer another electronics superstore, so sometimes I just don’t have a choice. And I’m just not willing to try Meijer, Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and eight different other places to see if I can find the one thing I’m looking for when I *know* Best Buy has it, like obscure foreign films, for instance. Lucky for me I have an inside man who gets an employee discount or I’m just not sure that Best Buy and I would have anything to say to each other any more.
