My wife and I stopped in here for lunch during Valentine’s Day weekend. It doesn’t look like much if you’re expecting a huge dining room and waiters and whatnot, but it was exactly what we expected; a cute little taco spot with some seating. Some couples walked in, looked around, then walked out. They missed out on the BEST tacos, tamales, and other Mexican goodies in the state. I had three tacos with the different meats that are on offer. My wife had a vegan tamale and the beef tacos. We agreed that they were the best that we’ve ever had on our various travels. We also had the chips and guacamole, the chips were super thin with the right amount of salt. If you like tacos, you have to stop by Spanglish. Simply awesome.

Delicious! The only bad thing I have to say is I hadn’t tried it earlier! Guac and salsa were great, enjoyed how thin the chips were. The beef and chicken tacos were delicious and very filling. So excited there’s a legit taco place in town. Yum!

I went to a lot of the«top rated» places in town and I was really disappointed with Traverse City’s food.(I had high expectations after seeing that TC was rated as one of the best food towns in the Midwest.) Spanglish almost single-handedly saved Traverse City’s reputation. The pork tacos were phenomenal. My girlfriend has the same experience with her variety of tacos. Fresh, delicious, more traditional tacos. Honestly, I’m not even sure what else to add to the review. I complemented the chef on my way out and he seemed genuinely excited about making me a wonderful meal. If you’re in Traverse City you should go here.

I can’t get enough. Talk about FRESHFLAVOR! My husband and I stopped in for dinner the other night after going back and forth on where to eat. We knew Spanglish would not disappoint. I had the pork and chicken Tostadas. He had a few pork tacos. Everything has flavor from the meat, to the crispness of the lettuce/cabbage, to the creaminess of the feta, to the corn flavor of the tostadas. And don’t even get me started on the salsa verde… Yummmm. I love the recently added pews! Much more seating! Spanglish is a must!!!

Stopped in for lunch during our weekend in TC. This place is can’t miss. Giant tostadas, delicious tamales and perfect guacamole. Seriously don’t hesitate to check this place out. Community tables make for a fun dining experience.

We had the pork tacos & chips/salsa. He tacos are amazing! Simply dressed, and everything tastes perfectly season & fresh. The meat, fresh cheese, salsa — all amazing. LOVED the green salsa, even got some to go. Excellent!

Nice place for a late lunch. I was looking for someplace new while in TC and came here based on the reviews on Unilocal. The special of the day was a yummy Carnitas Torta, which came with chips and I went for the optional avocado add-on. The sandwich was great: warm shredded pork with cabbage, pico, tomatoes, onions, avocado chunks and jalapeño mayo on a ciabatta. They have a small regular menu of house-made tamales, tacos, burritos and quesadillas, all of which can be made with pork, beef, chicken or just veggies. Seating for about 25 inside and two tables outside. The cooler had a selection of Mexican-bottled Coke products, Fanta flavors, limeade, apple juice and bottled water. Spanglish hit the spot for me.

Love, love, love the tomatillo salsa with avocado in it! My boyfriend had an epic quesadilla. The tamales are pretty rad too.

Yummmmm! Me encanta! Authentic Mexican food, great tamales and tacos. Friendly service. Small, but efficient and very cute décor inside. I’m so glad we stopped in here!

A friend and I had quesadillas here maybe a week ago. She had chicken, and said it had good flavor. I had the veggie dilla, it was yummy too. She had the jamaica tea, it wasn’t quite her thing. I think she would’ve liked the iced coffee, but caffeine isn’t her friend. The chips and guac were generous and yummy. I didn’t need to order the side of guac with my meal, there was enough left over from the order of chips, *pro tip.

Four stars for only one reason… they were out of the tamale that I saw on the menu with the butternut squash. I was super pumped to try it… and then my dreams were crushed with a little sign indicating they were out. Settled on the other vegetarian tamale and was not disappointed. I also had the tostadas which were fantastic. My husband had the chicken tacos and was stuffed. Portions were«hearty» for sure. My picky daughter very much enjoyed the chicken quesadillas and a fun retro Fanta soda. We also split a plate of chips with salsa and guacamole which was super creamy and obviously fresh. Would most definitely go back. Friendly service and delicious food.

Went here on the advice of a friend — absolutely the best(pork) taco we ever ate! Tender, well-seasoned, really perfect! OK to take food to Left Foot Charley’s, next door. I am definitely coming back.

So good! Went during cherry festival so they were a little crowded but worth the wait. They were out of a few dishes but for the most part still had a good selection. I got chicken tacos and chips and salsa. The tomatillo salsa and guac were awesome and super fresh. The chicken tacos were authentic, served on corn tortillas with lettuce, cabbage, tomatillo salsa, onions and a light sprinkle of queso fresco. Was totally worth the hassle of tourists. Would highly recommend!

My wife and I stopped by here for a quick lunch this afternoon and were not disappointed. I had a beef taco and tamales and she had a tostada, all of which were delicious. Friendly staff, great food and very fair prices. Not the type of Mexican food I was used to, very authentic. If you are on the fence about this place, hopefully this will help your decision.

Good food! I was sad they were out of vegan tamales by the time I arrived(near 3pm, they close at 6pm for the day). I was really looking forward to trying them based on friends’ reviews. I did however; get the vegan rice and bean plate which was topped with a fantastic fresh pico and came with 3 corn tortillas. More than enough for two people, really! Also added a side of the chips and guac. Delicious. Ate at one of the two ‘patio’ tables.

Casual atmosphere and great Spanish cuisine. Low prices to offer. Tacos — chicken and raised beef and orange soda, organic ice tea we had.
