The order was delivered to my door. All the food was very well received – one friend who doesn’t eat much actually helped herself to 3 plates of the great stuff. The pulled pork, chicken & beef brisket were so delicious. The mac & cheese was very tasty as was the baked beans. The coleslaw was outstanding. Will definitely call for catering again – well worth the money!

WORSTBBQEVER!!! There I said it… I should have thought about it more when someone claims they are the best, it usually means they suck. Which this place does. I cant believe the good reviews of this place, these people really need to leave the downriver area and get to a good rib joint. Hell, even Applebees has better ribs than this guy and that’s not saying much. Thats like saying a gun shot is better than 2 gun shots, either way, they are both equally bad. We decided to try this place out and I wish I didn’t. It was a waste of food and money. BBQ Ribs — This was the worst part of the whole meal. I love ribs. I love ribs that fall off the bones and are juicy, succulent, well seasoned. This place didn’t have any of this. They were undercooked. Not raw. Lets just say, If I gave them to my dog, she would have probably broken a tooth or worn out her jaw muscles trying to get through this beef jerky textured rib. It had a bit of smoke flavor, but that’s where it ended. Especially after taking 5 minutes to even chew through the first and only bite that I too, since the rest of the ribs were same way. Pulling apart the ribs from one another shouldn’t have to take much effort, they should just pull apart or fall off the bone. I felt like I was getting a workout at Golds Gym trying to pry the bone from the other bone. You know its not a good thing, when you hear a ripping sound come from the meat you are trying to eat. I think the poor pig actually squeeled in Pig Heaven when I was doing that. Brisket — Overcooked… its bad when you had a brisket that’s been overcooked. I know they didn’t put it on the smoker at all, since it had no flavor or smoke, let alone anything else. Just a drizzle of watery BBQ sauce. It was dry, not moist at all. The fat on it was this gelatinous mess. I know they didn’t cook it right. they braised the hell out of it and it became this dry mealy meat pile that they cut up in pieces. No matter how much sauce you would have put on it, could have saved the dry tasteless nature of that brisket. The sides — Cornbread was a joke. seriously. The 50 cent box of Jiffy tasted better than this stuff. This cornbread was this overly moist(on the verge of damp). It tasted like yellow cake mix but without the sugar and ZERO corn taste. There was no texture to this at all. The hushpuppies were decent, they tasted like they were made from a pre made mix though. This was the highlight to the whole meal and that’s pretty sad, when box mix hushpuppies taste better the actual main part of the meal. The collard greens were a bitter micro chopped mess. Why didn’t they leave the leaves whole? I think they put too much vinegar or something into the mix and it wasn’t a pleasant mouth feel either. It was overcooked also. These people don’t know how to cook anything from the way it seems. Coleslaw was meh, I could eat it, but it was pretty generic tasting floating in a sea of dressing. The person who rang us up didn’t seem that interested in working there. They had their cell phone attached to their ear while ringing up and getting the food ready. First off, its not professional and secondly, get a freakin bluetooth headset or something if you want to talk. Wrapping this up, don’t go here. they don’t deserve anymore business and you can find better ribs elsewhere. You would find better ribs sitting under a heat lamp at Meijers than here. Save your money, your time and your teeth the trouble from trying to attempt to choke this rawhide down.

It’s the best BBQ downriver and some of the best BBQ I’ve had. The service is really good. I have been offered samples when unsure and they’ve always been great. I can recommend ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. My only negative feed back is the fat on the brisket could have been trimmed off a little bit more. Otherwise very good. Their corn bread is more like corn cake; so soft and tastes amazing! I recommend mac & cheese and hushpuppies for sides. Go try it, you will NOT be disappointed.

I have had the ribs, brisket, and pulled pork and enjoyed them all! The desserts are also awesome! None of the sides really stand out for me. Quick serve BBQ, you can’t go wrong here.

Pitmaster BBQ is located inside a gas station on the Corner of Fort St./Van Horn Rd. On its website it is described as the«Best BBQ in Southeast Michigan». That’s a pretty big claim to make. I love BBQ and this was not the best. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac n’ cheese and hush puppies. The actual pulled pork was very good, but was on a white untoasted hamburger bun. It was topped with a sweet BBQ sauce which was also good. The Mac tasted like it could’ve been out of a box with a little bit of garlic powder added and the hush puppies were frozen out of the box(definitely not home made). If you’re looking for a quick mediocre lunch this place will do. I would eat it again if I was looking for«fast food».

This place is a hidden gem. Do NOT dismiss it because it’s in a gas station. Once you sink your teeth into a pulled pork sandwich from this place, you won’t even remember where you are. Absolutely delish. We came here with a groupon and took a chance — the owner is so nice and the food is phenomenal! Highly recommend pulled pork sandwich, collard greens and sweet potato fries. The pulled pork is better than Slow’s. There, I said it. I’m a food snob and like I say, though I love Slow’s and all, this place’s food is better.

Gas Station BBQ and it’s fabulous! I’ll say it again because it’s so strange it bares repeating. Gas Station BBQ and it’s fabulous!!! Weirdness, I know! We went to Pit Master after craving some bbq eats and having no propane left for our own grill. Being slightly hungover on this particular day, we didn’t feel like going through the whole process of the propane exchange. We started an online search and stumbled onto Pit Master BBQ. We called in the order and approximately 20 minutes later, the food was ready. I ordered the rib tip combo since I am not a fan of eating meats off bones. I’ll do it but it kind of grosses me out. Plus, any meat still attached to the bone is guaranteed messy. Since I was hungover a bit, I didn’t want to have to work for my food. So, rib tips all the way. The meat was delicious. Juicy, tender, with a subtle smoky flavor. One thing the meat was lacking; sauce. I like saucy ribs so I could’ve used a few more dabbles. Not a major complaint but a mentionable. I see someone else posted before me; too much sauce. Maybe they could supply your meal with a little extra sauce in a cup so the customer can manage the meat to sauce ratio??? My two cents anyway. As for the sides, I really enjoyed the baked beans I ordered. Yes, I know baked beans are simple by nature but these baked beans had a good bacon flavor with a thick texture. Me likely! The mac & cheese was pretty standard. Cheese & noodles. Nothing fancy done there but it was cheesy and creamy so I’ll take it. Oh, and the cornbread was undercooked. However, the undercooked cornbread was extraordinary. I say, keep it under-cooked. Again, two more cents for you. The boyfriend really enjoyed his meal too and the food was prepared in a timely fashion. Prices are so-so considering the portions are kind of small for the sides. This is a hidden little joint that has some great eats. If you’re in the area, stop in, fill up your gas tank, and grab some ribs!!! Note: For a Gas Station BBQ Joint, their website isn’t too shabby. It was easy to navigate and the menu items had clear pricing and descriptions. Bonus points!

I saw the coupon on , but when the groupon came out, I knew this would be the perfect time to try it. I admit, I was a little put off by the fact that this restaurant is in a gas station. Hopefully once they grow, they’ll get their own independent location. Starting off, I planned on getting a ½ slab of ribs, mac & cheese, baked beans and the corn bread, but upon ordering I was told they were out of mac & cheese for the day. It was 5:30 on a Wednesday night, how can you be out of mac & cheese already? Bad planning! At this point, my expectations of the place are very low. Hubs returned home with our meals and I first tried the baked beans. I’m a fan of baked beans in general, so it doesn’t take much to make them good. These tasted like baked beans from a can that had been cooked in a crockpot all day, with a little brown sugar added. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that and I think they were good, just nothing special. Next up were the ribs — the meat was perfectly cooked and the sauce was plentiful! I’m very picky on ribs and I was impressed! I would definitely get them again. The cole slaw was average and the corn bread tasted more like a moist corn cake, so I was a fan. Based on the review of a previous diner, I also ordered the banana pudding. O.M.G! I was so stuffed from dinner I was only planning to have a bite or two and then I was going to put it away for later, but I couldn’t put it down and ended up eating the whole thing. I did let Hubs try a couple bites and despite not liking banana pudding, he loved it! I thought I was going to have to fight him for it, but he’s smart and let his pregnant-with-twins wife finish it all. To sum it up… this restaurant is a great addition to our area. I went with 4 starts because I will be back, hopefully when they have mac & cheese, but they really need to try to get out of the gas station!

WORSTBBQEVER! It’s microwaved. The mac and cheese was obviously not made with real cheese. It was really oily… like really oily. Also, the brisket came served in a puddle of oil, GROSS. My husband, who’ll eat just about anything, came no where close to finishing his meal. In fact he took about one bite and said, «I think I might be sick.» I had the half chicken which was alright, really dry and obviously not fresh. Also, the sauce taste a lot like KC Masterpiece or any generic sauce from a bottle. I would never ever eat here again and am sorry I bought the $ 7 Groupon for it in the first place!

Ok — someone left out the part of «they’re in a gas station»…which makes this easy to miss if you’re not clued in… While it was a bit weird to be sitting next to the chips section, the owners were downright friendly, accomodating and eager to please. The ribs were good… and like most people that likes rib will attest to, its a highly personal choice… while the meat didn’t fall of the bones, it was tasty and good… The sides are on the average size range… a bit on the medium — high side, but we were full when we left. Oh — side note — even if you’re not a banana pudding fan(which I’m not)., you have to try it… forget every pre-conceived notion you’ve ever had… THISAIN’T IT… this is a wonderful custard banana thing that will knock your socks off… go ahead… venture to the wild side! They also do catering…

Hard to find place, because it is located in a Gas Station. Overall the BBQ Meats are pretty good. The Sauce was a little to sweet for my tastes. The sides were just average. I had Mac and Cheese and Hush Puppies. I have had ribs and pulled pork here, the meats had a nice smoke flavor, but they had a bit too much sauce dumped on them for my liking. I would return again, but ask for the BBQ sauce on the side
