My delivery came an hour later than when its supposed to, bringing it to a grand total of 2 hours from the time I made the order. Then I got it and it tasted awful. I had steamed dumplings I’m pretty sure the meat used is dog food and then I ordered chicken pad Thai and not only did it taste sour but the so called chicken looked like rubber strings of imitation chicken. WTF was this crap!!!

I didn’t see too many reviews here about sushi so I wanted to write something for those curious. First of all, I was extremely hesitant to order sushi delivery from a place I didn’t know but I am so happy I did. I have ordered about 3 or 4 times now and have had great experiences.(I’m currently waiting for next order to arrive.) The sushi is fresh and tasty. My go to order is the rainbow roll and the spicy salmon roll. This is plenty to fill me up and satisfy my sushi craving. They give me plenty of ginger and wasabi to go with. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the online menu doesn’t give detailed explanations for the maki rolls and I find myself googling stuff since I’m kind of new to the sushi scene. Otherwise, delivery has been quick and easy with their online ordering system and I really prefer to use it than to call. I definitely recommend giving it a shot!

Pretty standard Chinese Food. The vegetable lo mein was sub par, but the Egg Drop soup was decent. Their delivery through Unilocal was quick, however.

I have always ordered from this restaurant because they are reasonably priced /on time with delivered and the food is usually great! But this afternoon I ordered my usual generals chicken — got the lunch special which comes with pink fried rice and asked for a side of white rice. The chicken was not good at all. Pork fried rice was the worst I’ve ever had and they forgot my white rice. Also charged me 13.73 — looking for a new Chinese spot.

God this place has screwed me over so many times. If youre getting delivery, make sure the correct number of items are in the bag. They Left something out twice! Starting to think they do it on purpose when i order quite a few things. Also, delivery shows up super late. And im close by.

My go-to for reliable Chinese takeout or delivery whenever the mood strikes. The owner is always present and hands-on, and makes it obvious she appreciates your business. There is a reason she has been in business for a very long time. The food is typically fresh and flavorful. Can order online. The inside is typical 70’s style Chinese restaurant. Not much in the way of ambiance. There is a sushi bar, but I have not yet tried their sushi.

While looking through Unilocal for a place to eat before date night at the AMC24 in Hamilton, we settled on Number 1 Asian Bistro. Pulling into the parking lot of the strip center, we were a bit confused because the sign read«#1 Chinese Kitchen.» We had to ask at the counter if we were in the right restaurant. We both ordered appetizers. I ordered beef on a stick, which was dry and chewy. Arlene had the din-sin, whech the thought was delicious. We both had a combination platter, one of their most expensive dishes. It included lobster, crab, scallops and shrimo which was stir fried with vegetables. The crab was really sea legs and the lobster was tough. The restaurant itself was dated with not much in the way of ambiance. Strange that we were the only people in the dining room at dinner time on a Friday. The food was just typical of a Chinese take-out restaurant — nothing exceptional.

I’m telling you this quaint Asian-American place is absolutely the best one in the area! My family recently moved to Hamilton, so we were stuck in a tight spot when hungry and craving Chinese but wary about the Trenton joints we already knew were less than great. My mom recommended delivery from No. 1 Asian Bistro because they had recently delivered to her work place. I My favorite is the Honey Walnut chicken, which no other Chinese place in the area seems to have on the menu! I was soo excited to see they offered my fave. And it did not disappoint!(see picture, my third time ordering from them) the portion is very good for the price, about $ 9. And even after sharing with my sister I always have lots left over. My dad is picky about his spare ribs and pork fried rice. After recieving disappointing pale rice and only a few bits of pork, he knew he couldn’t order from the same local shop. With Asian bistros rice, he was happy to see hefty red spare ribs, perfectly flavored, and yellow rice with ample pork and seasonings. Great place to order from! You can even order and pay online! So convenient.

I wish I could give 2.5 stars. I love the food here it is always flavorful and some of the best Chinese food in the area. This is the go to place for Chinese food at work and has never disappointed us. However in the recent weeks we have received extremely poor delivery service. We waited over an 1hour 45 minutes on a Tuesday for delivery after being told only 30 minutes. Once we finally received our order it was wrong and missing items. The delivery driver promised to return and correct the items but they never did. We as diehard fans of this establishment decided to order again and waited over an hour again with a similar result. We will try again in a few month because everyone can have an off month and the food is worth it. I will update once we try again.

Just ordered delivery for the first time. Had no problem with a special request. Food was delivered hot. Homemade duck sauce was awesome. Sushi was an even larger portion than expected.

Several years ago, my wife and I had gone all day without a chance to eat. Our son was at hockey practice, so we took the time to get couple of containers of Chinese food and sit in the car trading boxes eating with chop sticks. It was clear that we both found the pork lo mein delicious. This week we finally had a chance to return to NJ and, when I saw this restaurant, I decided to find out whether the lo mein was really that good or we were just hungry. We have our answer. The pork lo mein is the best I have had. My daughter happened to bring home some left over Pork lo mein from a popular local restaurant. Number 1 Asian Bistro won by far. I don’t know what that subtle flavor mght be, but it is addictive.

Pretty average when it comes to Chinese food but in this area, good Chinese is hard to find. Definitely edible just not that great. The sauce for the chicken and cashews needed a lot of work(very lackluster and oily) and there was about 5 cashews in my entire dish. The only veggies were celery and carrots. I am not a fan of celery and can’t recall it being the prominent veggie in a Chinese dish. They got an extra star for delivering to me on the day of a blizzard. Very good crunchy noodles and salad was good and fresh.

My first run at Number 1 Asian Bistro and I came away satisfied and even a little nostalgic. This place felt like a trip to 1980 on my lunch break. Period furniture, dated mural of waterfalls and cranes, a carpet that was so soiled that I hesitated to rest my shoes on it, and staff doing their prep work right out in the dining room. It all made some kind of sense, and the hostess/owner had an offhand humor that made me feel comfortable. Although there is a sushi area, this place is fundamentally a traditional Chinese/American house where Cantonese dishes are well made, and the kitchen is good enough to make a decent attempt at Thai and Japanese, but you wouldn’t mistake any of those things as authentic. The Hot & Sour Soup was thick, vinegary, and loaded with Mushrooms, Tofu, and Sprouts. It was good. The atmosphere put me back to my early years when I still enjoyed Cantonese and Fuzhounese food, so on impulse I ordered Pork Egg Foo Young, complete with that gloopy brown sauce. It was also quite good, and completed the time warp sensation I had been experiencing since entry. Considering all the really poor imitations of Sino-American food in the area, it was a pleasure to step into the past, and have a meal I had not tasted in a long time. Now I know where to go when only old fashioned Sunday night takeout will do.

I work in area and frequent this place for lunch. If bored with the Chinese buffet nearby, I’d recommend the # 1. Besides the usual, I appreciate the other dishes on menu, like Thai basil, mango chicken, and my personal favorite: creaky chicken, which is crispy white meat in a unique tangy sauce with shredded ginger. Dine-in lunch specials include a soup and spring roll; take-out is spring roll and soda can. Keep in mind you won’t be impressed with décor, #1 still has that 1970’s Chinese restaurant retro, complete with red linen tablecloths, the gigantic landscape painting and that slightly irritating traditional Chinese string music. They also have Japanese /sushi too, but that’s not really my speed, especially in a Chinese place, so I have not tried it.

I’m a huge fan of their crab rangoon! My husband liked the sushi we had when we dined in once. This is a typical delivery order local at the office. I’ve had a flop or two, but no worse than anywhere else. Sticking to my usuals I definitely have no complaints.

As a Chinese food aficionado, this is some of the best Chinese I’ve had near Princeton and I found it in Hamilton/Trenton, NJ! I can’t wait to go back! Tucked away in a corner of a strip mall, you walk into #1 Chinese Kitchen and first see a takeout counter. But, make a right and there’s a sushi counter and then a full dining room. I was nervous, because I wasn’t sure how good the food would be, but the ingredients were fresh and delicious! Try the stir fried string beans and the eggplant with garlic sauce. The string beans were crisp with a bit of crunch and delicious. The eggplant was my favorite though and reminded me of a Chinese restaurant, San Tung, in San Fran, where they do a «dry fried» version that coats the eggplant pieces in a batter and then is lightly fried and then doused with a slightly spicy«with a kick» sauce that was very delicious. I think I «mmmmm’d» my way through dinner. So good — can’t wait to go back to order both of these again. I had a chat with the lady there and she said they’ve been there since the 80s. I’m totally not surprised by their success(and longevity in the tough restaurant business) — the food was delicious and prepared by a master chef, who could probably cut it in the best restaurants in SF or NYC’s Chinatown. Also, if you need any shoes repaired, the gentleman running the shoe and luggage repair shop, a few doors down, is a real artist. He will resole and shine your shoes and make them look like new. I loved the lived-in feel of his shop too, with all the shoes and bags lined up in rows. His review is next… So many hidden gems here in this little strip mall :)

Have been ordering takeout from this place for years. Even after moving to Bordentown and trying the local Chinese takeouts in the area I still will drive the extra time to get it from here. Sushi is about what you’d expect from a Chinese takeout. Dinner and lunch combos are really the way to go as they are so cheap. Have tried many different meals and have yet to have one I didn’t like. Dining in is a bit awkward though as it is usually pretty dead in the dining room.

Although the sign says #1 Chinese Kitcen, the restaurant is actually called #1 Asian Bistro… Kind of confusing.

It’s Chinese food-what do you expect? It’s greasy, calorie laden, and tasty enough. The lunch special is just 4.75 for an entrée, rice, and egg roll. It lasts me two days. Nothing special but well worth $ 5.
