Awful dining experience. My husband ordered the lasagna. The picture on the restaurant’s website showed a quality example of what good lasagna should look like: nicely stacked, multiple layers of cheese, pasta, sauce. What arrived at our table was a bowl of sauce with a little cheese on it and two very small pieces of lasagna noodles underneath it all. My husband informed the waitress, who was exceptionally sweet about it. Offered to bring a side of noodles and did so. When she returned, we thanked her, but told her how disappointed and that we shouldn’t have to pay. She went away and the owner then appears, and this is where it really got bad. He didn’t ask what’s wrong or apologize, just rudely stated, you eat, you pay. Then proceded to stick his finger within an inch of the food and said there’s noodles in there. He offered another lasagna, which wasn’t much better. I had a veal dish which was nothing exceptional. I would only recommend it if you have problems with anything of flavor, as this was lacking in it. Our dining companions mentioned how they were disappointed with the amount of clams; three each. I’m not a seafood eater, but I’m guessing, that’s pretty skimpy. I’m giving them one star, and it’s only because our waitress was so excellent. Sweet and tried so hard to be accommodating.

Nasty! No flavor! They just want you in-and-out! Just go to Olive Garden; is like 5 min away from this!

Great customer service, relaxing and not bad food. Also great selection off vine. Definitely coming back, excited to try their tiramisu cake next time.

I have only had the ravioli but it was so amazing, both the mushroom and the lobster ravioli were dream worthy. The red pepper cream sauce is to die for. I love the bruschetta appetizer as well. What wins me over is how affordable yet classy this place is. Being a young college student it’s hard to find fancy and we’ll prices food. The art work along the walls is a very nice and artistic touch. I highly recommend :)

This place was amazing. Everything was fresh. The cheesecake was to die for. I couldn’t stand up after I ate it and I wanted to smoke a cigarette too. The funny thing is, I don’t even smoke.

After hiking Multnomah falls, we were tired and hungry, on the verge of being hangry so we decided to stop somewhere on our way home. We wanted to load ourselves up with some carbs. Found this little resturant on a quaint little town. The ambiance of the place was nice. In the front patio they have a couple of tables. Inside towards the back seating, great views. There were 6 of us in our group. When we got here around 4, it was slow so we were seated right away. Some of us started with the butternut squash soup and some started with salads. I got the butternut squash soup and thought it was delicious. The others had the same feelings as well. For my dish, I got the chicken alla with sun-dried tomatoes. It was nice and creamy, I liked it. My friend’s salmon pasta dish was alright. The salmon didn’t really have much taste to it. Another friend got the Tuscan chicken pasta dish and liked it. A friend hot spaghetti and meatballs and seemed to really enjoy it. Place is located in a cute town and very convenient for us when we were heading back from Multnomah.

It was a holiday weekend and we pulled into troutdale late. We were looking for a good Hearty meal. We googled this restaurant nearby. They closed at 10pm. We called and they were very inviting even though it was 25 minutes to close. The service was fantastic. The food even better. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Also the price point was awesome. We both had cocktails and they were only 6.00 each. Happy hour looks awesome too! Thank you for the great service. We will be back again.

This place! WOW. I was very skeptical at first, as I was raised on Italian food. Man oh man did it impress me. The servers were GREAT, the food was PHENOMENAL, the atmosphere was relaxing, and I’ve got legitimately nothing bad to say about this place. I’m so happy to have found this restaurant. I have even taken my parents out to here. My father who is full blooded Italian loves it!

After nixing two other cafes along the central street in Old town Troutdale because they smelled so strongly of soap/bath scents we settled on trying Pompello. We were shown promptly(it was late lunch time so few customers) to a table at the back window with a view to the riverside. Our waitress was friendly, and immediately brought a tasty bread and dipping plate. The dipping sauce was olive oil, balsamic vinegar and chopped tomato, garlic, and Basil leaves. We ordered Ravioli and a Mango Avocado Salad. After a short wait our food arrived borne from the kitchen by the owner, Saul Pompello. Everything was delicious. My husband remarked that the marinara sauce was house made and the ravioli delicious. My salad was great too… chicken grilled till tender not dry with a subtle seasoning, crisp super green romaine lettuce, ripe mango and avocado slices with the savory dressing on the side. With the exception of the tomato slices which were unripe everything was fresh, tasty and obviously made with care. We’ll visit again for sure. Thanks Saul for a quality lunch.

First off, I made this account just to tell you about my deplorable experience. Everything we ordered was truly the worst possible version of the dish. My salad was put together with apparent laziness and no respect for the ingredients was evident. This diagnosis continued throughout the meal as both of our meals were truly inedible and I would wager that they were microwaved leftovers. We were starving so we had a few bites each and then just threw the food away because it was difficult to suffer through. Pictures to follow.

This place is a great little mom and pop Italian place with great food and great service. The portion were generous and the food delicious. I found out they regularly offer a 2 for $ 27 coupon on their website which includes 1 app 2 salad or soup two pasta entrees and 1 dessert. Will defiantly be back and use the coupon!

12.45 sun-dried tomato chicken. The broccoli was a good touch, there were no left overs of this dish. 10.75 spaghetti meatballs. There sauce has a great favor and the meatballs keep you going back for more. Food is so good, service amazing as always. I love the appetizer it is so fresh. Balsamic, olive oil, garlic, and chunks of tomato to dip your bred into. Prices are very reasonable.

I love being able to add a star after visiting a place a 2nd time. It means they got better!!! YAY! My daughter suggested we come here and I thought I’d give it a chance again. They remodeled the place so it’s one big room on the bottom floor now which gives it a great open and homey feel. There is also an upstairs so when you make a reservation and they ask if you need handicapped seating I think that’s what they are referring to. Lots of wine choices by the glass which is always a good thing. And a menu full of italian dishes as well. It’s not all meat centric, but balanced with vegetarian as well as seafood/fish options. And best of all, like everyone says in the reviews, great pricing. We split the eggplant parm dish and got 2 side caesar salads. My daughter got portobello mushroom ravioli in this rich yummy sauce and her fiancé got the chicken parm. There was a HUGE table of folks ordering just as we got there and I thought to myself — bad timing. We will have to wait a bit. I mean the kitchen is tiny back there. The server was awesome. We didn’t have to wait for her at all. I asked to try one of the wines before I decided and she was very accommodating. Speaking of that, when we got our food she automatically split the meal for us in 2 separate plates without me asking. So many times in other restaurants I end up getting the whole plate and a little plate for me to dish out the other half which is totally unacceptable by the way for any servers reading this. And I can run on about that more but I won’t. Our food also came out quickly despite that huge table. The eggplant parm was delicious. The sauce(this time vs. 5 years ago) was wonderful and tasted homemade like it had been simmering on the stove for a while. Very flavorful including, of course garlic! We paid a little over $ 20.00 for our eggplant parm, the 2 salads, and a glass of wine. That’s a good deal! I’m looking forward to more visits now and cannot wait to try more of their dishes.

DONOTWASTEYOURMONEY! My husband and I went here for our 12th anniversary. One of his clients gave us gift certificates. They gave us a great table upstairs with a beautiful view. Our waitress was very nice, but that’s where the positive review ends. My husband very speedy steak meal was unseasoned and tasteless. I had chicken Alfredo, which was the worst I have ever had. I don’t know who they had in the kitchen cooking, but they were completely in capable. I truly could have made it better myself. The Alfredo sauce tasted like flour and did not have much of any other taste to it. The chicken was mediocre at best. We also had a dish of tortellini with sundries tomato cream sauce. The sauce was ok for the first few bites, but after that, seemed to make me sick. I did not want to finish it. It was obvious that the tortellini was the cheap processed kind that you get in the freezer section at the grocery store. We were VERY disappointed. If we had been using our own money, my husband would have thrown an absolute fit, but since our gift certificates covered it all, we just paid and, suffice it to say, we will never go back there. I’m puzzled by all of the good reviews. I’m wondering if maybe the real chef was not there that day and we were just unlucky.

decent food for what the prices are listed for. I had the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and the artichoke dip. The dip was basic, almost like they just microwaved it from being made days ago and the pasta was just ok. The table in front of me even left stating that their cups and plates were dirty. What is making me rate this place one star is for how many flies that were flying around. So uncomfortable to eat at this place needs deep cleaning.

So ambience is nearly zip if you sit down the back… overlooking the scenic dumpsters… but aside from that this is a really good Italian place. Service was friendly and quick without being intrusive and the food was delicious and not only light years ahead of pseudo Italian chains like OG or Old SF but also prices were far below either of the two upchuck chains. It’s a bit out of the way, parking sucks… but they take reservations and we drove over from Camas and stumbled upon this place and believe me we will be back.

We go here once or twice a year on a little Troutdale staycation. We’ve always had a great experience and the food is amazing. This last time we went we had dirty silverware, they ran out of what I ordered after ordered it, brought me the wrong reorder, and didn’t show much compassion about that error. I will probably give it one more chance, but it was the special meal I was planning to propose… so it was probably a little more exaggerated when all this went wrong. Hope the next time we go it’s back to the amazing restaurant we know and love. Ps we love that they have gluten free pasta options!

Great views in refurbished, quaint downtown area of Troutdale. This restaurant has tasty Italian food with friendly staff and boasts a pretty good wine selection too. Polite and efficient servers made the visit even better, but the star of this place is the food. Doesn’t matter if you get one of the pasta dishes, the local entrees or one of the salads… They’re all good. I recommend!

Came at a lunch time, 4pm. I want to give this place every benefit of the doubt, but not a single menu item was good, except the soup, which may have been can based. I can only think that perhaps they have a new person in the kitchen, or it is their lower tiered cook, or there is simply no quality control coming out of the kitchen. My spaghetti bolognese was so bad I couldn’t eat it. My gf’s Tuscan Chicken was so bad {an extremely overpowering flavor, and a bad one), that I couldn’t eat hers either. A total miss here today, but, I will definitely give them another chance. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Reasonable prices(having only seen the lunch menu)
