I would love to give this place fours stars. Sometimes the fit of the shoes is a bit random, and they don’t carry half sizes, but I’ve always been really happy with the shoes and sandals I’ve purchased.
My problem with this location is one of their current staff members. In the past, I’ve had great service at this location — super helpful staff, happy, welcoming… this dude… I don’t get it. I’ve been in twice recently while he was there and each time it’s a lackluster experience. IF I get a greeting at the door, it’s barely audible. Both times I’ve asked questions about their stock only to be answered with a blank stare and an appearance of ambivalence. I am a Somerset employee and I know we get a slight discount as a mall employee — I asked if they had a particular shoe in stock, they didn’t carry the color that I wanted. He scribbled a free shipping code on a scrap piece of paper and handed it to me. When I asked about the discount, he informed me that I would have to bring the receipt back with me to get a price adjustment. Here’s an idea — can I order the shoes in the store, get the discount, and not have to make extra trips back and forth? Just a thought.
This time, I waited my the counter for a few minutes before anyone said anything to me or realized I was waiting to speak with someone. I asked about a pair of last season shoes — thought I had seen them, thought I’d inquire about them. Employee man looked at me like I was nuts, then graciously offered to call Partridge. He called, when they told him they did not have what I was looking for. … … … aaaaaand that was it. I had heard him repeat the «No» from over the phone… bu he hung up and said NOTHING else to me. So I left.
I’ll drive to Partridge instead — even from Somerset. I’ve been out there once and the service was light years better.
