Stride Rite

I have had good experiences at this store. I’ve purchased several pairs of shoes here for my toddler … starting with his first pair of big boy shoes. I always find the staff to be friendly and helpful. They do a great job of measuring his foot and suggesting a size … I appreciate that they go a half size up so that he doesn’t outgrow the shoes too quickly.
I have been happy with the quality and durability of the shoes. I loved the options for early walkers and off & running, but as he gets older I think the shoes are getting kind of uglier. I’m not interested in purchasing Iron Man or Monsters Inc shoes for my 2 yr old. I wish they had more simple, classic designs for toddlers.

I have high hopes every time I try to shop at this store, and every time I leave disappointed and frustrated. To be honest, I’ve never actually even gotten somewhat close to buying anything – because I can hardly ever find a worker! The store is always SWAMPED and even after waiting and milling about for 5 – 10 minutes, no one has said BOO to me and I still can’t find a co-​worker! (On the off chance I do manage to see one and actually get their attention, odds are they tell me there are four people in front of me.) Unfortunately, that just doesn’t work when I have a toddler with me. Which is kinda the point since they need to try on the shoes…
And the store is not that big (15×15?) so when it’s crowded, it’s crowded. I would think that with as busy as the store always is, they would either A) have a bigger store or B) hire more employees.
Granted I could just be going there during every prime time they have, but if that IS the case, like I said, I would expect more people working. I have wanted to get my son’s feet professionally measured since he was about 10 months old… and he just turned 19 months and we haven’t been able to get it done yet.
I guess I’m giving up on this place, and will just continue to wing it when buying shoes.
