Brought my car in for a routine oil change today and let them know there was some leaking and if they could check it out. Come to find that my oil pan drain plug had busted (due to lousy job at previous oil change) and part of it was in my oil pan. Stressed thinking I needed a WHOLE NEW oil pan, Randy «The Miracle Worker» was able to fish out the broken piece and save me 500 plus dollars. These guys are the best! Truly care about their customers.

These guys didn’t bother to take me back to shop to show me and explain issues with my brakes while they had it up on hoist, ie how worn pads were, rotors etc. Wrote up a significantly inflated quote that was MORE THAN DOUBLE the quote from 2 additional shops I had inspection done. I had work done finally at Brakes & More in Clawson. Glad I did! (anyone reading this make sure you go there instead of this Goodyear).included in the inflated quote was «Front disc overhaul» @ $ 299 whatever the hell that means…“Rear disc overhaul” @$ 289.again, makes no sense. These two additional items were ON TOP of all four rotors and front and rear pads plus inflated labor charges. Watch these guys. they mask their gouging with «courteous and friendly demeanor».

I didn’t even want to give a 1 star, these people lied to me. I went in a 9:00am with two people a head of me, I couldn’t get a ride home til 11:00. I was told to be back at 11:00 and it would be done. I need to go to work at 3:30. I called and they pushed my car back because others showed up. This is terrible business! I spoke to the owner and he refused to work on my car because I told them that it was right how they were treating me. Terrible people there! Will never go back and will tell people to stay away.

Let’s face it, no one likes taking their car in for repairs. But there’s something about this place that makes me feel good about doing business here. I can tell Gary and Gary jr. really know the formula for running a successful business. These guys aren’t here to nickel and dime you. I’ve had a few expensive repairs done here and each time they have thrown in some sort of discount without me asking just to make the bottom line a little more palatable. That goes a long way in my book. They know that the key to profitability is by earning their customers trust and repeat business. I trust the team here.

I give them 5 stars, before I take my car anywhere I do research and they are the best I have found in Troy area.
I think the staff is polite and helpful and what I like is they don’t try to sell you everything under the sun just give you what is needed prices are reasonable also.
I have been probably going there 10 years and will continue to do business with them.

I heard great things about this place. So I took off work early with a coworker to get an inspection on a car; I called ahead, but they said they could easily take a look. We got there at 5:30 and the mechanic told us that they are closing at 6 pm and that it would take ”half an hour” so he won’t take us in.
The next day, we left work early AGAIN but this time we called in the day and a guy said he would see us, and I asked if it’s okay that we come in the evening before their close, and the guy on the phone said it’s fine, just as long as there isn’t a long wait. So we left work at 4:30 and called on the road and asked if they would see us; the new guy on the phone said it depends on what we are doing. I asked for an inspection, and he said, «we’re closing in an hour and a half, we’re pretty busy so no we can’t see you.»
Needless to say I’m never going to take my car there, and I found a better auto shop in town open until 7 pm and willing to work even if it was an hour before close. The car I wanted to buy has a few problems and a check engine light problem, but we won’t be going to Gary to get it fixed.

When my mechanic was out of town, and I was having some car trouble, I was recommended this place by another trustworthy mechanic. I was seen right away, and my car was given a thorough check — all was ok, and they refused to take any money from me. I appreciated the courteous, quick, and honest service. And also, I appreciated the beautiful black lab running around the shop.

I have been going to Knurek for 7 years, and during that time I have never had any issues that weren’t remedied satisfactorily by Gary and his crew. I had a mystery issue that brought my car in multiple times, and each time they went above and beyond to fix the problem. Even refunding previous charges because it wasn’t fixed right the first time. I send my teenage kids there to get work done on their cars and they are always treated fairly. They are a very trustworthy operation!

My business has been using Goodyear for Vehicle repairs for 30 + years. We used Tom Halbeisen in Birmingham and when they closed we moved to Gary Knurek in Troy. The move was very smooth with all our records transferring to them. The service is great and when our van needed a new transmission they took care of getting to to the trans shop for us. I have no trouble giving them 5 stars
