Nice local salad place. The guy at the cash register is very nice. I really like the customer loyalty card they offer. If you buy 10 meals, 11th meal is on them.

The guy who’s always at the register… I can’t remember his name. I think he’s the owner. such a nice guy! Always smiling and so friendly. I love this place for a quick salad on the go! The ingredients are fresh and a nice variety.

It’s ok. Dropped $ 11 on tuna melt and a fancy bottled drink. No chips. Sandwich fine, nothing special. For same money, Troy Deli for sandwiches. Folks in line tell me salad bar is great. I’ll try that next time and revise rating accordingly

The food is average. You walk in. read board… oh $ 7.50 you pick two!, like panera(expecting panera quality and portions) You pick out you items for your small salad. NICE! they have spinach, fresh mozzarella, hard boiled eggs, cheese, sundried tomatoes, BACON. yes this is great! I’m so glad I didn’t go panera… get to register. $ 11.40…wait what? «why does it say $ 7.50 on the menu board when i ordered and now its $ 11.40?» I still cant figure out how to get a sandwich and salad for $ 7.50 maybe if you put 8 grapes in the container by themselves you will be able to. Can someone post a photo of salad that meets the $ 7.50 guidelines? maybe they could have scales every 12″ that warn you as you go every $ 1 over the advertised $ 7.50 price(ALERT! you have just placed $ 2 worth of hardboiled eggs in your container!) The owner has two options… #1 Keep the salad bar self serve and change the menu so that you pick two is only for soup and sandwich. have salad price per pound clearly illustrated, this should be the first thing people should read ‚“oh salad is $X.XX per pound“ ORRR #2 Close off the customer access to self serve the salad bar and let the employees portion out the salad for each order subway style. The owner is also a bit on the cheap side. How do I know this. I have my sandwich and salad on my tray. my clearly half sandwich… he rings it up…“that’ll be $ 14.80″ I ask him is that the price for you pick two… «oooo you have a HALF sandwich, oops, let me void the transaction I just made on your card, ok voided now let me just re-swipe your card» Really? not exactly confidence instilling but hey everyone makes mistakes. The owner is obviously cheap. That’s fine all business owners should be in order to be successful. But your customers shouldn’t get the feeling they just did business with a cheap skate. They should feel like they just got high quality food for a fair price.

Lots of healthy, quick options here at a reasonable price! Salad bar has everything you could want. The Insalata Panini was amazing. I know I will be back many more times.

I started to go to Insalata because I had a coupon and it was close to my office. I never heard about it before. When you arrive at the salad bar, there is a lady who is asking you if you wish to order something from the daily menu or if you take a salad. Like most people here, I love the salads as there is a lot of choice but every once in a while I switch it to a side-by-side as they have the best REUBEN sandwich in the area! If you like Reuben sandwich, try it, you won’t be disappointed. It goes very well with one of their daily soup(change all the time). Overall price is about $ 7-$ 8 for a side-by-side, right in the same price range than a Panera bread for instance. In regards to the hospitality, it looks like a family business so some days they are all happy and some days it is a bit more difficult socially… like in life ;-) Overall a good alternative place for lunch, I try to go there at least once a week or once every other week. I usually take to go and usually stay less than 10 minutes total in the restaurant so I guess it’s pretty quick!

I love Insalata and consider it to be one of my favorite lunch spots in the metro Detroit area. It is a gem hidden in the shopping mall but the people who work there are so friendly and remember me each time I go in. They are attentive and genuinely want to serve up great costumer service and even better and fresher salads. Their sandwiches are great too. I have tried the turkey chili and that is always nice to eat when it is colder out. Definitely going back soon.

A coworker friend and I tried this place out today because I had a BOGO coupon(up to $ 7) from the Entertainment book. It was different than what I expected but also very good! THEGOOD: –Huge salad bar with pretty much every topping you can think of. I did the half salad and half sandwich($ 7.50 but can be pricier, depending on salad weight) and in addition to my «normal» salad fixings(lettuce, tomatoes, etc) they also had dried cherries, caprese-type ingredients(basil/fresh mozzarella), sesame sticks, fruits like strawberries, etc. I was very impressed by the salad bar. I topped mine with fat-free raspberry vinaigrette. –The panini I had was DELICIOUS, it was the Panini Insalata I think it was called. It had ham, capicola, pepper rings, pesto mayo, some sort of cheese, and I think salami on it. Gives Jersey Mike’s a run for its money and I LOVE Jersey Mike’s. –Since we each had a ½ panini and a ½ salad, an employee carried our salads over to a table for us, which was very nice. –I had stuck my coupon in my coat pocket and couldn’t find it but the cashier was willing to give me the discount anyways — I later found it, but it was a nice gesture on his part. THEOKAY: –It would have been a bit pricey without the coupon — it was about $ 20 for two combos(half-salad, half-panini’s) and my friend got a $ 1.75 lemonade also(so, like $ 18.25 without the drink). I guess that’s still like $ 9 each which isn’t awful, since it was a lot of food, but that doesn’t include a drink. –The door was open which provided a nice breeze(it’s about 55⁄60 out today) but also some flies. –I have a slight headache currently from the panini but that’s standard for me with meat panini’s/sandwiches. Overall, I really liked Insalata and will be back soon! The BOGO coupon was from the Entertainment book and they also have a version on Entertainment’s website too.

Quick work lunch with some cubicle mates. Insalata was near by, quick, and reasonable. Got the side-by-side special of ½ Insalata panini sandwich & cup of italian wedding soup. Quick and hit the spot! I had tried their salad on another occasion, it has a lot of options to make your own customized bowl of salad. With drink it came out around $ 9.00, so very reasonable. Excellent place to stop by for a work lunch. Recommend and will repeat.

I thought this place was a good alternative for a healthy option UNTIL… I am waiting in line and I see staff refilling the cold items with their hands. That is, touching uncooked product that is meant to be eaten uncooked without gloves. Then the worker compressed the lettuce with not only an ungloved hand but a hand with a dirty cast on it. That was too much for me and I walked out. Enjoy your unsanitary salads.

A lot of different food options for a salad bar restaurant which I can appreciate(panini’s, snack wall, soups, smoothies, salads) It’s a little pricey but that can be expected from a restaurant that relies on having fresh ingredients. If you want cheap, go eat at McDonald’s where they can keep their products frozen for years and not have to worry about making up a price difference for spoilage. There’s also a lot of options to add to your salad; lots of fruits, dressings, toppings. Overall, I had a very nice experience and will be back since it is one of the only quality salad restaurants in the area.

So I’m usually in here for lunch Grab me a fresh salad. I love the salad bar because it has a nice selection of everything as well as the salad dressings. Your order is weighed which can be good for not over eating but bad price wise. I have yet to try any of there sandwiches or smoothies. I love the atmosphere the employees are very friendly and their service is quick even during the lunch rush.

The focus of this restaurant is the salad bar, and boy do they do a great job on that front. They have a TON of toppings, and you put whatever you want in a carryout container and pay by weight! I have gotten really, really good at estimating how much salad will be $ 5, and that is definitely enough to fill me up. The downside is that everything other than the salad bar is expensive. I’ve only ever tried the baked potatoes, which are expensive but OHMAN do you ever get what you pay for. These are the most outlandishly huge baked potatoes that I have ever seen. These baked potatoes are downright HEAVY. But hey, you can’t go wrong with an enormous potato drenched in cheese and bacon. They close at 7, which has screwed me over a few times. Wish they were open til 8.

I make a point to visit every time I’m in the area. Food is always fresh and I love supporting local, michigan businesses. Although pricey, I find that the quality of food and excellent service makes it worth it. I’ve had salad and almost all the sandwiches/panini and I HIGHLY recommend them. No better, fresher place for food than Inselata :)

Went here for lunch with my bro and I cannot justify paying close to $ 14 for a sandwich and some soup. Honestly I’d have no problem paying that much for quality food, but when I see the guy put my soup in the microwave to reheat it, I start to question what I just got myself in to. Not only was the soup cold(initially) so was the service. Yes the guy explained things to us as it was our first time there, but he seemed almost annoyed that he had to do his job. Typically when you go in a place like that you’d expect a greeting, a simple«how are you» and a smile. I didn’t get any of this here. Randy T. hit the nail on the head when he said the place lacked hospitality. The tomato bisque I had was bland and had no flavor(adding salt couldn’t even help it) and it was watered down to boot. If I had to guess it was left over from the day prior and they tried to thin it down to get as much out of it that they possibly could. My tuna melt didn’t really have much tuna on it, however it was pretty decent. Not good enough to go back there again though.

This place could be really good !!! Homemade Chili is tasty, but needs a bit more zip ! I was there early and got my Chili microwaved in a styrofoam container. Hot sauce in a bottle instead of Fast food packets, paper soup cartons would go a long way toward making this a GREAT lunch stop
