My daughter attends RPI, this is my favorite spot when we come and visit! Absolutely love the corn beef hash! And everything else they serve! This is a great old-time dinner. The service is always good and I look forward to many, many more trips to eat here!

troy’s oldest restaurant comes with the expected old school vibe, décor, and food. great service accommodates a large party easily even on a busy saturday afternoon. inconsistencies with orders but overall acceptable for diner food.

Ate here once on my own. Had my standby greasy spoon breakfast of three eggs overeasy, corned beef hash, toast, home fries, a coffee and orange juice. Grand total before tip… $ 19… Seriously?! For canned corned beef, juice from a machine, the cheapest of the cheap? Place smelled like bad fryer oil, booths were cracked from lack of maintenance, and there was inexplicably a hint of cat urine in the air. How anyone gets sucked into this place I will never understand. Stay away and save yourself the cash eating at any other diner.

Found the closest diner to the office! In Troy, just across the river from the Riverview offices on Broadway, it was a classic comfort food diner, with biscuits or eggs and sausage gravy, hash browns or country fried potatoes, and classic coffee expected out of the famous Bunn coffee machines. Easy street parking, easy access over the river, and fast diner service at tables or the large counter.

Lackluster. Overall experience, meh… Food was standard frozen assembled product. Not great, not bad, just OK The bathroom was disgustingly filthy — sink was clogged with brown liquid coming out. Everything else was just wet and slimy. Interior was dingy, dusty and sticky. The area was super sketchy — everyone roaming around looked like they were about to do something crazy. Weird vibe. Don’t see a reason I’d go back. But give it a shot and see for yourself.

Drive from any any distance to enjoy their offerings, it will be worth it. Dishes sampled included Southern Maddie and Apple Cider Donut French Toast. Delightful. There’s a reason this joint has been around for so long.

Great breakfast and brush spot with options that are a little different from the usual. When I went in, they had a macaroni and cheese omelette(my brother ordered that) and cinnamon roll french toast(my choice). Needless to say, they were both amazing and we ended up splitting each other’s brunch with one another. I’m looking forward to the next time I can go there when I’m in NY.

I just couldn’t decide so I went with a short stack with peanut butter on the side and a slice of ham. Nice sized, fluffy pancakes with melted peanut butter and fresh maple syrup-just what the doctor ordered. My boyfriend got the«Maddie» special-I forget the exact name but it’s close to that. So good. I almost ordered it myself after one bite! A perfectly crisp, dense yet fluffy biscuit with a sausage patty and gravy on top. The gravy was BOMB– yes I brought that 90s classic back to describe the awesomeness of the gravy. I had to, nothing else would do. Just do it… I dare you. You will not be disappointed. The ambience of the restaurant is a little«Seinfeld» but I think that is what they are going for. They sell small bottles of the syrup-so we picked up a couple for gifts back home.

Went there for the first time today and I have fallen in love! Between the history of the place and the very welcoming atmosphere I will be coming more often. I ordered this amazing eggs sandwich with buffalo chicken on it. While we waited for our food I struck up a conversation with a gentlemen sitting next to me who told me he had been coming for years and filled me in on the family dynamics of the place which made me fall in love with it more. I will be a loyal customer for life

Filthy. If I could give it 0 I would. Menus were filthy, salt and pepper shakers were filthy, silverware was filthy, bathroom was filthy… You get the picture.

Wow! I’ve been wanting to try this place for some time, and finally convinced my fiancé to take me over the weekend. Went for a late breakfast and was very impressed. They have a HUGE selection of options — amazing(and amazingly fattening) sounding pancakes, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and interesting specials! I ended up just getting a combo consisting of a Belgian waffle sprinkled with powdered sugar, eggs, sausage, and toast. The waffle was different than any I had had previously at a diner, it seemed much more dense and filling, and oh so yummy. The place is a little bit dated, and I wasn’t really a fan of the overly casual atmosphere(employees yelling at eachother from across the restaurant), but I’m sure that’s a draw to some people. I definitely plan to go back, and sample some other items!

Had a roast beef club and fries. The roast beef is house made and was fresh. Excellent. Great downtown diner vibe.

Great breakfast options! I randomly tried a buffalo chicken sandwich special one day and that turned out to be a really bad choice — chicken was dry along with the roll it came in. Otherwise, it’s a pretty decent diner.

One place I’ll say should never change. The place is old. The food is great. Our waiter was funny as hell. The breakfast menu is a must after a good night of drinking!

Had breakfast /lunch here with my wife today prior to a show at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Our waitress was very nice. When asked for our drink order I asked for whiskey(well she asked what I wanted) was politely refused. My wife ordered a Tuna sandwhich and a cup of NE clam chowder. Both met with her approval. I went with 2 eggs up, bacon, sausage and home fries. The eggs, sausage and home fries were fine. The bacon was tiny. I have never in 50 yrs of eating bacon seen strips so small. I’ll remember that next time I cross the river for breakfast.

You can’t go wrong if you decide to stop and have a meal at Manory’s. It is one of the oldest restaurants in Troy, so it is a place you’d want to try as a historic visit, but I’m confident that once you try it you will keep coming back. The service is friendly and you will usually see one or both of the owners Jen and Lou working and welcoming all the customers. If Jen is there you will know it because you will hear her contagious laugh. I’ve been there for breakfast and lunch and have always enjoyed my meal. I enjoy the pancakes and eggs for breakfast including one of their cheesy omelettes. For lunch the biggie buffalo salad or a turkey sandwich or turkey club sandwich are always good choices. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. If you want a home town meal with the friendliest atmosphere this is the place to go. Next time you go, tell Jen that Jackie says Hello!

Ah, Troy’s oldest restaurant! Manory’s is indeed a throwback to a previous decade. Of course, that decade is comprised of two years of the 1940’s, three of the 1950’s, three of the 1960’s, and a couple from the seventies. Come to the classic 19th century downtown of Troy and see vintage formica, wood paneling, drop ceiling panels(with classic stains!), and window blinds with genuine Max Headroom-era dust. 1913 is sooooo 2010. In any event, it is not without a certain charm at that, and the breakfasts have been quite decent. I eschewed the classic diner menu and avoided the vegetarian fare for once(my usual when I breakfast out) and got the«meat lovers» burrito, which was actually quite excellent. Service prompt and friendly if a bit underwattage, like the lighting. Still at $ 9 with a $ 2.85 Folger’s cup of coffee not included in the base breakfast, we’re talking über-Diner prices. There are alternatives, and we’re not even talking Denny’s since it’s downtown Troy, some even with vintage 1913 décor. So, sadly, not in a huge rush to come back for another 101 years or so. Oh, I so wanna like it more than I do, but so it goes. Est quod est, Ilium.
