Great food. Great service. Nice people. The menu is huge. The soups are homemade. In fact I think almost everything is homemade. I will be back.

Always great food. Great deli sandwiches and home cooked meals. We’ve been coming here for years and have always had good food and food service. They frequently have unique specials.

Great breakfasts! Their bread is thick and crusty and you can’t go wrong with anything with corned beef.

We went to Pudge’s Place last night. Our dinner was amazing! We had the chicken Caesar salad and the Reuben sandwiches. The sandwiches were served with homemade potato chips. Yum! The portions are huge. I couldn’t eat my whole Reuben. It was stuffed with the best corned beef I have ever had. My husband is still talking about his sandwich and the salad. Oh, I was too full for dessert but my husband ordered the rice pudding and said it was delish too. The Restaurant is very moderately priced and looks clean and bright inside. We can’t wait to go back! The owner came over and spoke with us to ask how everything was. He was very personable. The place has a very«homey» feel to it. We highly recommend this place.

Great family environment. Great service. We got the corn beef hash, the farmers omelet and a small chicken salad that was not small. Portions were massive and taste great. Would definitely recommend.

I have been coming here for over 20 years. Although we have moved out of the area, I find myself craving their deli sandwiches as well as their home made soups! Best place for this kind of comfort food! Their breakfast selections are delicious also!

2÷3÷2016 Update… The new owners really seem to be turning the place around. Don’t have to ask for refills anymore they are on their game for customer service. The few items I have had since the new owners seem to be better. Their corn beef hash is back to the original high standard the original owners maintained. If they keep this up I can see me updating this to 5 stars! 3÷29÷2015 Update… Well we have been here a few more times only to see the service get worse and worse. It’s unfortunate as the food is pretty good put if it gets to you cold what’s the point? The staff just wanders around like they are in a daze. Original review… This used to be our«go to» place. Put since the new ownership some things have definitely suffered. Mostly the service has really slid and the place is no where close to being spotless like the last owners kept it. Last time we were their the waitress didn’t write down any of our breakfast orders and 3 came out wrong. I asked why she didn’t write anything down and she said«I’ve been a waitress for over 20 years and have never written down and order». It was the first time I had seen her there. The weird part is everyone ordered the same eggs, maybe its time to start writing orders down? We still go there about once a month to see if things change. But we use to go once or twice a week! I think after a couple years of waiting its time to give up. The food is great though and its a shame to see it go down hill like this. They have the same cooks and their great. But when I see the owner bagging up some of the excellent homemade potato chips wearing a glove like she should, answer the phone without removing it and go right back to the chips. You know something is wrong, she was only wearing the glove to protect her hand not her customers. I hope the owners stop standing out back smoking and fix their business!

Well! Now that’s a Deli Sandwich! Ive noticed Michelle C. frequent check ins here & blatantly asked«Whats the Draw» She replied with enthusiasm The Chicken Noddle Soup The homemade potato chips The Breads Made on sight. Okay Okay. I hear you! — — — — — — — — — — — — — - So today Im on that side of town, torn between Recipes– Kalamatta Grill –Pudges Time to break away & try something new & very Unilocal worthy Used the UnilocalAPP, hit directions & in 9 minutes I was there. Plenty of parking, plenty of booths & tables, as the lady owner sat me down in a snug 3 person booth, with a menu. Smiling-Sweet Sherry stopped by with a genuine smile & care, fetched me a beverage & shared her menu insight I said simply I want pastrami, but not on rye, plus I hear I must try your chicken noodle soup. Oh …our Rye is baked right here, it is light & seedless, I really think you’ll like it! Well okay after that pitch, why not. Moments later this cup of very hot soup, loaded with veggies, flat wide egg noddles & a generous amount of chicken appeared, also included was a large hunk of fresh bread. Yes the hype matched the product. Then.quickly the South-side Pastrami Sandwich appeared. Lots of Pastrami Swiss Cheese Grilled onion slivers Grilled perfectly, and enough for 2 meals $ 8.95 plus a deli pickle and the famed homemade potato chips A++ I then decided to fetch a quart of the soup to go, for around the house, I ask Sweet Sheri If I order a quart, can you put this cup in there, since I cannot finish it Certainly! A hearty lunch & a quart of soup to go $ 17.71 Sweet! thank you Michelle C.

Love Pudges Place. The atmosphere is always friendly with gracious hosts. The Reuben is a favorite but I also recommend the #4. The Chester salad is another go-to for us and get some soup while you’re there. you’ll be glad you did.

The owner followed me out to my car and proceeded to yell at me and call me obscenities(because I complained about the food). This was My first time here… And last. For starters, I waited for a table as I watched the hostess chat with a customer for a couple minutes. My waitress was very friendly, that’s about the only nice thing I have to say about this place which is why it got the 1 star vs zero. I ordered the Greek chicken finger pita. I have no idea what was served to me, but it was not at all what was described on the menu. I was not shy about how dissatisfied I was, the waitress asked if she could get me something else, I told her, no just the bill. She proceeded to tell me there will be no charge, I said that wasn’t necessary. I ate very little of the fried breading(there was barely any chicken, it was mostly all batter). I left 5 $ on the table. I walk to my car and notice this man staring at me with a very angry expression standing right by the door of the restaurant. I asked if I can help him… He then started yelling at me to never come back, that he’s been in business for over 40 years and he doesn’t need punks like me in his business. Calling me names that I can’t write on Unilocal. Punks like me? I’m 38 years old, I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt with my(all one color) hair in a bun. Yup. I’m a punk. He started to walk to my car, I started to pull off and he was still coming after me and screaming obscenities. So this is how the owner reacts to a dissatisfied customer? Geesh. If you go here, don’t complain about the food.

The last 3 times we’ve been ignored. Took 15 mins after seated to get menus and waters and the waitress never came around. Had to get my own napkins. It’s super frustrating !! The food is good and that’s the only reason we returned. Disappointed

Didn’t even know this place existed until my husband found it on Unilocal!GREAT little place! We both had burgers, which were excellent, and the fries were super crispy. The place is neat, clean and not overly large. The menu is pretty extensive and I look forward to going back to check it out! ONLY downside was our server was BEYOND apathetic about serving us. Zero personality and zero niceness. Just flat, bland and emotionless. Hopefully the other servers are better. Once I go more than once, I’ll be sure to re-review!

Dem stacked-high sandwiches, dat chicken noodle soup. Breakfast is tasty too. A bit pricey, but quality stuff. Homemade chips(I’m more of a fry guy, but they are tasty). Great service. Owners are always in there, reminding you they are always watching over the quality of their restaurant.

Having lived my entire life in Troy Pudge’s is A-ok to Yay! I’m a fan depending on the time of year. I honestly drive by this every day on my way to work, am two miles from it for lunch hour, and until last week I hadn’t been in there for probably 10 years. We used to go for breakfast. I find their corn beef ‘hash’ to be nice n fresh, but not really ‘hash’y. Cut it up finer please! I’m just splitting hairs I suppose, but their selection on breakfast is slim IMO. I’ll go to Recipes, or for killer hash Jimmy’s Coney at Dequindre and 16 mile. There’s a lot of competition around town for the one thing they do decently, and that’s lunch. Their sandwiches are pretty darn good. Chips with that yum, swap out fries instead, yea we do that, oh you wanted a large side of super yum ‘slaw instead of your chips, cool beans bam there ya go. Half sandwich and soup, game on. Pretty much price stays the same, so awesome flexibility. Major points for that. I love their pastrami, the crust on it is awesome. Soooo much seasoning crusty addiction generating tid-bits. CAN I SCRAPETHEPANPLEASE! nomnomnom. I’ve never tried more of their diner food, or looked over the menu. Maybe they have some yummy meat loaf, or killer chicken fried steak. What I know is the place has been around in it’s same form for ages, and works. I think i’ll go read some Unilocal reviews to see what I want to try next visit. This time it will be sooner than 10 years, but it has yet to make me say ‘can we go to Pudges soon, puh puh puh please.’

Living about a mile away from this place for most of my childhood, I’m surprised I never visited until the other day. But there isn’t much on that side of the road, and I don’t know … a place called«Pudge’s» is a slight turn-off. But I was extremely happy my friend suggested going here based off Unilocal reviews. We visited right when it first opened, for breakfast, and it gradually got busier as the morning wore on. Although there are a plenty of selections, their breakfast selections are pretty sparse when it comes to variety. I had the farmer’s omelette, nothing really fancy, but I’ll settle for doing the basics to perfection than a ton of variety. It had a good ratio of all the ingredients. I especially liked the round sausage pieces. The homestyle potatoes are also really good. It was very filling, so much so that I had leftovers. One knock is the pretty bland coffee.

Even though I grew up in the area, I did not try this diner until a friend and I reunited for breakfast. It’s in an odd location in a somewhat empty plaza in a less busy intersection of Troy, and the title of the restaurant(including Café and Deli) makes it sound like a place where you could just pick up a sandwich and go, rather than sit and eat. We were surprised with how big the actual dining room is and the quality of its food. The lunch menu is quite extensive with a variety of salads, sandwiches, etc. but the breakfast menu is minimal and basic in comparison. With the few choices for the most important meal of the day, they have at least mastered the classics. Portions are big, the price is right(all breakfast items under $ 8) and the food came out right away. I ordered a farmer’s omelette(ham, sausage, green peppers, onions and mushrooms on the inside, topped with cheddar) along with cottage cheese and wheat toast. The menu offered subbing for low cost, so I went for it and did egg whites for the omelette and replaced the usual hash browns with cottage cheese. OMG — The meal was incredibly filling. The ham was smoked and cubed, and the sausage was in big chunks. I could taste and see every fresh veggie. And the cheese was plentiful and melted beautifully. I am a «clean-your-plate» kind of gal … and I did this without any trouble. My friend got the same breakfast without the substitutes and she had to take home half the meal. Kind of random side note: The bathrooms are actually really nice for a diner. They were complete with matching hand soap and lotion, air fresheners and spray, antibacterial solution for the door knob and folded paper towels.

Update: I originally rated this place 4 stars. But, over the weekend I was very disappointed! My family ordered 3 Rochester Road Rubens but my mom’s was filled with corned beef, my dads was half way filled to their normal stack, and mine was as thick as something I could have gotten from Big Boy(a few measly slices). I am very disappointed, since on their menu they state that it triple stacked… And every other time I have ordered this sandwich it was stacked super thick that I could not even take a full bite! My son also ordered scrambled eggs, and they looked really nasty. If he didn’t insist on eating them I would have sent them back. They were also burnt. The waitress that we had was really slow, we had her before when we went in and she was slow then too. Hopefully Pudge’s would redeem themselves!!! I am a fan of corned beef and Rubens, but nothing compares to their rochester road Ruben!!! The atmosphere is very cosey and the staff is friendly as well. I usually order take out, though. Also reccomend the deep fried cauliflower too.

Meh, I’ve experienced better is right. I’ve only been here for breakfast, but this place ranges from OK to mediocre. I haven’t had any horror stories/near death experiences at Pudges, but there’s definitely better breakfasts in the Metro Detroit area. The interior kind of resembles an IHOP, but slightly more depressing. The food is unmemorable. I usually get over easy eggs, hash browns and toast, which is really hard to screw up. However, my dining companions that ordered FANCIER(and I’m using that term very loosely) dishes left disappointed. Go to the Breakfast Club or Sweet Lorraines if you want tastier brunch foods.
