If you have ever been to Coltons then you have been here. Penuts on the floor check. Country music check. Bull horns and country junk on the wall check. Service has always been good. I have sat at the bar and the main restaurant and both had good service. Food. Well I have only had the steak salad twice. Both times it was good. I get the salsa vinegrette and it is really good.

Since we were out-of-towners, we checked out Unilocal reviews which weren’t so great but the parking lot was always packed. Somebody must like this place, right? We stopped for lunch on father’s day — had to wait 15 minutes but not a bad wait at all. Everybody gets buckets of peanuts and throws the shells on the floor. I just can’t do it! Something seems so wrong with trashing a restaurant lol. We had a nice waiter who was very attentive. Loved the yeast rolls with cinnamon butter — I could have eaten a dozen! My 8oz sirloin was cooked perfectly, sweet potato was good. My only negative comment is the caesar salad was so drenched in dressing that it wasn’t edible. Nice place — I can see why the place is always busy as there are slim pickings in little troy.

So. Much. Food. The rolls are great and the food doesn’t disappoint. Serving sizes are huge. Took a while for us to receive service but the manager was extremely nice and genuinely seemed to care. Drinks are a little expensive so not very ideal for a college student. Over all I was pleased with my experience.

Ive been to this restaurant twice now. The wait to get in on a weekend night is 20 minutes or so. The service is ok considering theyre really busy. Had to wait on drink refills but thats to be expected I guess. The first time I ordered a steak wich was really good, my second trip I had fajitas which were not good. The meat was dry and had no flavor. It was just gross really, I could have made better at home. I guess its all in what you order. My husband got the sliders and he liked them…

Went for an early dinner. Server was very friendly and prompt. I order a steak cooked medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Rolls were warm and tender with honey cinnamon butter. One of the best eating experiences I had during my 10 day stay in Troy.

Atmosphere is pretty cool, a little eclectic and you get to throw peanuts! They just started this new promotion where if you order an alcoholic beverage it comes in a real glass that says«Santa Fe of Troy, AL» that YOUGETTOKEEPIT! And then you pay less for refills. My friend and I got the fishbowl to share and later had a really good drink that was called the Hypnotized Donkey. It seems that over the past couple months this location has done an 180. They seem so had bought new table tops, have this promotion, and FINALLY hired some good servers. Funny enough my server had the same name of me and i highly recommend asking for her. Her name is PAIGE. She was friendly, timely, and aware of our needs and when to come by the table and when not to. I will definately go back now that all these changes have been made. I just hope they keep to it!

Consistently mediocre to bad service. 2 hr wait one trip. Menu is very unhealthy, and prolly mostly frozen. A strange place, like a bad chain. Peanuts are the best part of every meal I’ve ever had at this dump.

My daughter and I ate here last night(Sunday). We were seated immediately, given bucket of peanuts, and then server arrived and took our drink order. She brought our water and took our order. She checked on us periodically throughout the evening, but our food arrived and steak was well done, not medium rare and baked potato looked as if it was left from day before and then nuked until it died. Very disconcerting. The server apologized took the steak and potato back, but then returned the same potato to me! The steak she brought back was rare, but at least it was edible. My daughter ordered fajitas and she enjoyed her food. Her only issue was the server only gave her 2 small(6″) tortillas, but did bring 2 more when asked. The server was apologetic, but we will NOT return there again. Very disappointed.

This is THELOUDEST restaurant in Troy. I actually couldn’t hear the person sitting right across the table from me while we were trying to eat. Service was mediocre, food was was average and service was friendly but not well trained. Overall rating was a D-. If not for the loudness it would have been a C.

On a slow Sunday afternoon, we thought it would be a piece of cake to get served and get out of here in a timely manner. Ummm… not. Thank heavens we grabbed a bucket of peanuts and took it to our table. Our server(Duncan) was a nice, friendly guy but he was totally in the weeds. Once we got seated, the place filled up and Duncan was on his own. He seemed a little bit confused and out of it as he scurried around and asked for our food order as soon as he handed us the menus. We asked for more time — big mistake as I don’t think we saw him for at least 10 more minutes. When we finally ordered, we both got the 6 ounce sirloin… mine was to be medium and my fiancé’s was to be well. It was about 20 minutes when our food finally arrived and my steak wasn’t anywhere in the neighborhood of the vicinity of medium. It was charred black/burned on one side and not on the other. I sliced into it and it was beyond well done. There was even a little toothpick flag in it that read«well.» I NEVER send food back… but this was inedible, so I asked that it be redone. It took another 15 – 20 minutes to get the steak again. By this time, my fiancé was done and I had eaten my sides. Duncan kept telling us it would be «two minutes» and then«three minutes» and honestly… I started playing Angry Birds on my phone. We asked for the bill and that took another 10 – 15 minutes. Finally, we waived the waiter down with our credit card and asked him to please get us the bill so we could leave. He brought the print out, but never brought the itemized what we had bill and what it cost. At this point, we just wanted to leave because we had been there an hour and forty minutes. When the food did come, it was VERY good. The steamed veggies were done to perfection and were cruchy and delicous. The green beans had bacon and onions in them and were extremely good. So sad that poor service and the lackidaisical attitude of everyone in the restaurant made the experience one that was not enjoyable.

I met my brother, mother and sister in-law there for a birthday supper. They were not real busy but it took 30 min. to seat us. After our order and 45 min. later still no food. I think the waiter must have clocked out and left. The manager was rude and apparently this is the norm for there. We will never go back to the Troy location of Sante Fe.

Went on a Thursday night with a very large group. The staff accomodated us in no time. It’s a pretty big place so don’t be intimidated by the number of cars in the parking lot. Waiter was great, food was good and price was very reasonable. You even get to throw the peanut shells on the floor!!!

The food here is alright. nothing amazing quite frankly. The service is horrible. The waitresses really dont seem to enjoy their job what-so-ever and barely check back on you. This seems to be a trend, however, in Southern Alabama– so judge for yourself if you like. Fun atmosphere though.

Atmosphere is great! Food was unimpressive. Service was horrible. The worst part? My husband orders a steak, Medium. After waiting forever, everyone gets their food. Husbands steak is overcooked to be inedible. husband decides to send steak back(and he NEVER does that)…waitress doesnt come back to check on us for a solid 10 minutes… finally flags her down and asks for a new steak(mind you, everyone is done eating)… waits… finally asks her to make it to-go since everyone is ready to leave and he HASNTEATENYET! and she does– brings us our bill– and heres the fun part– CHARGESHIMFORTHESTEAK!!!

Great food, great service. The restaurant has a «outsidey» theme, though — roasted peanuts are served as an appetizer, and the theme is to throw the shells onto the floor. Apparently this is encouraged, and the floor is constantly covered with peanut shells. It’s a little disconcerting the first time I saw it.
