The pulled pork sandwich had a lot of meat on a lot of bread, but it was dry and not very tasty(zero smoke flavor) The red barbecue sauce is as sweet as corn syrup. The plate came with tons of fries but they were cold and bland also. A VERY small container of slaw came on the side. For $ 10, Hooks offers a lot better barbecue for the buck.

Food is always amazing!!! Make a trip whenever they have the fried smoked chicken, it is worth the trip!!! The Fried shrimp DD is a must try!!! And don’t ever pass up the loaded grits!!! The team here makes it even better! They really do treat you like family!!!

Before you visit the Sweet Rack Rib Shack you will need a Magic 8 Ball to know if open or closed because the posted hours never match the actual open hours. If you ever get the chance to make your way inside you’ll usually be greeted by a number of issues. The Shack doesn’t have a hostess at the restaurant, which turns seating into a game of musical chairs. If you get a table it may be up to 10 minutes before someone acknowledges you and decides to take your order. One visit I waited for 40 minutes for food, while another time I waited 5 minutes which makes ordering appetizers a game of Russian Roulette. The food is hit or miss in quality, presentation and execution. Most days and nights they are out of product, which is common for a BBQ place. But after months of being open they should have a better understanding of how much protein they’ll need on hand for each day of the week. If the owners are in the establishment then keep your distance because they’re usually inebriated and making a fool of themselves. Staffers have told me that the owner has verbally harassed the female wait staff and made them insecure about their body image and types. During my last visit my chicken strip dirty bird sandwich was so poorly made that I will never come back. They used frozen chicken from a big grocery chain and slapped between the buns. The Rib Shack has a lot of potential to be an amazing restaurant in Troy, Alabama. Troy as you may or may not know it, is a horrible small town with nothing to do or anywhere to eat. The Rib Shack can put almost every restaurant out of business if they wise up and decide they want to keep their doors open during normal business hours.

Everything I had was so yummy! I recommend the pulled pork and definitely the mac n cheese! Friendly staff and a very chill atmosphere. Perfect for lunch and relaxing after shopping around downtown!

Great BBQ! We had the wicked pickles, the pork platter, and the Buffalo sandwich. Everything was really good minus the buffalo sandwich, my husband said it lacked in flavor.

The best hamburger I have ever had. So I good, that I had my waitress bring the cook out so I could personally ask about the burger and thank him. The ambience was great, sweet tea was solid my one and only down fall was there weren’t a lot of barbecue options. However, the menu covered far and wide with catfish, burgers, chicken.

Outstanding fried ribs are the best. All the sides were tasteful and delicious. Don’t get a mixed drink they are not good. Stick to the beer.

Great food and great service. The pulled pork was very juicy and thick. The sauce complimented the meat very well with the sweet and tangy flavor.
