Located in the Troy Plaza(former Price Chopper), this Salvation Army store is alright. They used to have a location up the road in the old Grand Union in Brunswick, but that closed up several years ago. I stop in here once in while to see if I can snatch up any bargains. They stock long racks of donated used clothing at very cheap prices. I saw a pair of jeans for only $ 4. In the past, I’ve donated some old clothes and jackets to the Salvation Army on Clinton Ave in Albany(Arbor Hill), hoping someone else will have good use for them. The Salvation Army also sells donated books, magazines, music, videos, assorted houseware items, kitchen items, and more used stuff. Much of items are dusty and the clothing could use a good wash. I saw a neat vintage Mr. Subb plastic drink mug and a glass bar set, covered in dust. On the racks, I found an old Section II Track & Field t-shirt, a collector’s item! It looked too dingy, so pass. Another person’s junk could be another person’s treasure or wardrobe. This place reminds me of a small flea market with plenty of room to walk around. I can remember shopping at the large East Greenbush Flea Market back in the 1980s, now the Hannaford Plaza at Routes 4, 9&20. It was like going on a treasure hunt. Great memories!
