Crazily expensive sushi. I ordered a California roll with regular rice and a shrimp California roll with brown rice. The total was $ 9.81. When I got to my office and opened the bag, there were 6VERY small slices of each roll. The package it came in measured 4“x4″ to give you some kind of visual on how small it was. No ginger, no wasabi. I’m posting a picture of it. The rolls were fine, not anything I’d need to eat again. I called to see if I’d gotten the wrong order, and no, that’s what it is. Very disappointed in this place and I won’t be ordering from here again.

The Sushi here was okay. My friend always told me to never to get sushi from here but I didn’t listen, and I ended up getting food poisoning from here so I probably won’t be going back for now.

Love this place and pretty excited that they added some Japanese groceries. Noble Fish is too far from me so I don’t care to compare. Sushi Ya is pretty basic, but one of the few authentic places near me. They’re clean and friendly. Their overhead menu looks a little crazy and needs cleaning up just to help with first impressions.

Completely agree with other reviewers that this place has gone significantly downhill since becoming SushiYa. Today was my third visit. I had held off on judgment previously because I had hoped that if the new ownership was given sometime, then things would improve. However, this has not been the case. The appearance of the restaurant has become very shabby. For example, a large storage freezer in the dining area, all pictures removed from walls, empty shelves gathering dust, and a slapped together menu board. There used to be several nice counter seating areas, which have been ripped out and awkwardly replaced with table seating. The case for already-prepared sushi is now tiny and the rear of the store has been turned into a small Asian grocery, which seems misplaced. Most concerning, the sushi preparation area has been moved and is now hidden. I have never been to another sushi restaurant where one cannot see the sushi being prepared, and I question why this change would have been made. The sushi is also now lack luster. Unforgivably, the California roll was the worst of the rolls I ordered. It just didn’t seem fresh. This seems like quiet a feat considering it is made of crab stick. I would have given two stars, but the staff has always been very polite and courteous, which improves my rating.

Poor service, extremely rude employees. Ordered online and asked if the bag sitting on the counter was mine, employee gave me an attitude and said she didn’t know and didn’t even attempt to help find my order. Not going back again EDIT: Just tried the food. The spicy seafood ramen was decent. The broth was good, but there were all of TWO pieces of seafood in it. Udon was virtually tasteless.

This sushi place has changed names/owners numerous times, and it is steadily getting worse. It isn’t bad, in fact, some of it is good. But the prices seem to have gone up in this newest iteration and their setup is a little screwy. No paper forms for writing down order; one menu at front. I’d probably give it a four if it wasn’t for me eel. I love eel, but it was slimy and fishy here. The rest was good but not great.

If you are looking for an easy and quick place to eat, Troy Sushi Ya is the place! This place is pretty modern so the dining experience is different than something that you are use to; it’s pretty much self-serve. What you would do is look at the menu and order at the cash register. Once you have paid, you will receive a beeper that notifies you when your order is complete. You’ll pick up the food from the counter and anything addition like water or hot tea is pretty much a self-service as well. Once you are done with your meal, they have a conveyer belt that the trays and plates must be placed in. The menu is pretty organized and has various options, so whether you are craving from a rice dish to a bowl of soup they got it covered! The price range varies from $ 10-$ 20 depending on what you order. I have eaten here a few times with my mother for lunch since she works nearby and I must say you must get there early! Since the area is pretty oriented to companies, everyone has almost the same lunch time so beat the rush before 12PM. Recently, I ordered the Kaarage Bento Box which was $ 11.95 and I really enjoyed the quality. If you are looking for a complete meal that is worth the price, I highly recommend the bento box.

Only place to get the good stuff! The only suggestion I have is this place needs to expand. There’s no other place like this!

Great spot. For both the person that said they have the best tuna and the person that said he was stupid for thinking they had the best tuna, they have the same God damn tuna idiots. This place gets their fish from ‘True world foods’ which supplies the fish to like 95% of the country. It’s not the fish you taste at noble, it’s the awards and all the hype. Let’s not forget the cost. You love that it’s cheep, so just roll with that from now on instead of trying to talk about shit you have no idea about. And for the record, this place is good. Same plates, same fish, nice cashiers, just like noble. Stop hating on sushi restaurants because they’re not noble fish. It’s bushleague as fuck.

I was coming here when this place was called Sushi Do. Since my first visit, things have steadily declined. We had a late lunch here this week. One specialty roll we ordered was the most expensive roll on the menu, and it was very forgettable. Horribly slopped together. The soup we ordered was bland, I mean zero flavor. The only thing this place has going for it is the seating capacity. And to the person who thinks this is the best tuna in Michigan, get in your car and drive to Noble fish in Clawson. Noble blows this place out of the water, its not even close. Or One World Market in Novi. I would run to Sushi Ya when Noble was packed and had an hour wait, but no more. This place has a good location and great seating, but it needs a new owner/manager to totally overhaul the system.

Really disappointed. After driving 30 minutes to pick up my order they left out one meal. So while my family was eating I had to drive back and pick up the meal. Then drive home again. They didn’t do anything to make up for it. I won’t be back.

Met a friend here for lunch and it was pretty good. It was busy but there were plenty of seats and we were in and out in a hour. You order at a counter, they give you a buzzer, find seats, and buzzer goes off when your food is ready. You have to get up and then bus it later. Annoying but saves money on tips. I had the ubon bowl with veggie tempura and California rolls. It was plenty of food, and all very tasty.
